- OwdenBowden, on 04/16/2008, -24/+3I really hope not. She and her husband are not deserving - after all they lie, use the race card rather well, are raciest themselves and my favorite - are Firm supporters of Islamic terrorist.
- betterth, on 04/16/2008, -2/+15Certainly better than the Clintons. They're well known heroine addicts and have been funneling money into the white supremacy and anti-gay domestic terrorist groups for decades. It's so surprising that Hillary's genetic psychosis hasn't been a bigger issue for her this election.
Isn't making random ***** up fun??- OwdenBowden, on 04/16/2008, -7/+3Not really - but I am sure the kool-aid Obama punch you have been consuming along with what ever else you have been taken is working wonders.
- betterth, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1Obama kool-aid?
Look at your ***** post. Islamic Terror? Racists? If I'm drinking the Obama kool-aid what are you drinking?
These are claims no republican or democratic candidate has said. I haven't seen even retarded talking heads like OReilly make claims like this.
I mean really, what backwater, piece of ***** propaganda piece are you spouting line for line up there? It's so outlandish, so retarded .. and yet *I'm* drinking the Kool-Aid.
Whatever dude. Some people are too stupid to help. And by some people, I mean you. - thedamian1, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1I think we should all go and vote at www.whowouldtheworldelect.com so we can finally get this over with and get obama as our president already!

- OwdenBowden, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2See this is the problem with our country today - you ***** people are lazy, whiners. You have lived the plush life where Mommy and Daddy make all your plans, get you what you want and make sure you have warm milk before heading off to bed.
Are you that ***** lazy as to go to any search engine and type in "Obama Islamic Terroist" or any variety of it. Or does it cut into your iPhone calling time. Wake up you ***** babies. Obama is not the answer. He is telling you what you want to hear. He promises you the moon and the stars but he does not have the ability to deliver any of it let alone a pizza. Life sucks, there are more losers than winners and if Obama gets elected to the whitehouse as the President of the united states then I suggest you get as many weapons as you can because he will have opened the door of this country to every country to come in and take it.

- gypsi, on 04/16/2008, -3/+24i'm just amazed i actually watched a freaking colbert video on youtube. good clip.
- CabesMojo, on 04/16/2008, -24/+7Well its not hard to do a good job on a parody show when you don't get asked any real questions. I was honestly surprised he didn't ask her about the not being proud of her country her whole adult life comment. I know Colbert is just goofing around, but I really thought he might take that little shot instead of just laying down a red carpet, it would seem inside the limits of his character. Funny clip still.
- scroobyrooberoo, on 04/16/2008, -24/+3He doesn't want to offend Jon Stewart, who is a total Obama suck-off job.
- CabesMojo, on 04/16/2008, -3/+4Well its not news that Colbert has liberal leaning views, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he also supported Obama. It was an interview I was curious to see if his own personal liking as such were going to come to display or his characters. Obviously he went with his personal views. But go ahead folks digg me down for having an opinion that doesn't coincide with your Obama worship. I just think he could of played his character better and actually asked her something.
- petebot, on 04/16/2008, -0/+8Dude, Stewart had Dick Cheney's wife on his show and she got all softball questions...They're not gonna hardball a politician's wife. That's why she's on and NOT Obama.
- scroobyrooberoo, on 04/16/2008, -24/+3He doesn't want to offend Jon Stewart, who is a total Obama suck-off job.
- Synchronicity, on 04/16/2008, -52/+5Obama's wife is CFR scum; she is innocent and beautiful like a guilty and ugly succubus.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNbMtfXn93E- darksideownedu, on 04/16/2008, -2/+21a war criminal?!?!? how can you be a war criminal if you have no part in anything having to do with war? War criminals are presidents or generals that order the torturing and/or killing of innocent people. War criminals are leaders who willfully break the laws of the Geneva Convention. So tell me, how is Obama a war criminal?
That's what I thought, you're only trying to associate him with the most negative thing you can think of because you're a stupid, uninformed, and most likely xenophobic and racist person.- Synchronicity, on 04/16/2008, -16/+1His support for international warmongering organizations, power hungry tyrannical cabals, his willingness to send more troops, and his numerous votes to fund the unconstitutional invasion/war/occupation is enough to put him in the WAR CRIMINAL category.
His votes perpetuated America's rampage through Iraq, that woeful rampage which ultimately invades property and privacy, that rampage which murders innocent Iraqi civilians and Americans on a daily basis; he openly and willfully FUNDED America's present day [ILLEGAL!] cycle of death and destruction, and he supported Israel's twisted elite in theirs.
What makes him any different from Bush? The titles "Senator" or "President" or "General" add a difference? NO! They do not, and I outright reject your ridiculous suggestion; Obama's inhumane actions and obvious support for tyranny on a global scale speaks louder than those irrelevant titles; the man who funded pain and death, for those in the Middle East and for Americans who are trapped having to witness their lives/futures flushed, THAT is who Obama is: Obama is a WAR CRIMINAL, and your bountiful ignorance about that is not going to change that.- chromerium, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1what what

- dylio, on 04/16/2008, -3/+2He's not a war criminal. Also; by saying unbackable claims as a Ron Paul supporter makes the rest of us "Paultards" look bad. Although, I DO know he is CFR related. (Wife)
- Synchronicity, on 04/16/2008, -2/+2ANYBODY that supports the funding of a slaughterhouse [OF HUMAN BEINGS -- under the guise of a "justified war" -- when the war is in fact an unconstitutional war and against the ***** law] is AN INHUMANE PSYCHO and A PSYCHOTIC WAR CRIMINAL.
When "Paultards" are more concerned about how they look, rather than being concerned with the fact America is in distress (DUE TO POLITICIANS LIKE OBAMA), that is what makes you look bad.- chromerium, on 04/16/2008, -1/+2nice troll
- dylio, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1By that standard England, the Scandinavian countries, France, and the rest of the countries with a presence are all war criminals. Also, delivery is key on these issues. Learn to use it.

- jameshighmore, on 04/16/2008, -1/+13You would have been correct if that's what I meant. But what I was actually implying was that Obama would be best for the American people.
- scroobyrooberoo, on 04/16/2008, -9/+3Yeah, and you also probably thought Tony Blair would be a good leader too. OOOPPPSS!!!
- jameshighmore, on 04/16/2008, -1/+8scroobyrooberoo: Unfortunately I was too young to vote when Blair came into power. Beside that, the sad fact of the matter is that the alternatives were no better and, if you can believe it, Blair was probably the most charismatic one of them all.

- jedmed, on 04/16/2008, -4/+15It would be useful to get some large polls from the EU on this issue. The attitude of our allies will decisively confirm which candidate will be more effective in implementing foreign policy. It is the goodwill of our allies that will ultimately decide this issue, not some self-validating US polls.
- pintomp3, on 04/16/2008, -2/+15i haven't seen many polls, but there are a few stories:
Obama Takes Europe by Storm

Europeans Fascinated with Obama ‘Phenomenon’
http://www.cfr.org/publication/15891/- Enasni1212, on 04/16/2008, -2/+3Interesting, I haven't seen much about Obama's image outside the US. Thanks for the links.
- lamiaconfitor, on 04/16/2008, -5/+2We are the jerks who drug you into a war on the basis that we compared al-queda to the IRA. You aren't interested in our politics, when idiots like your last prime minister, Blair, sucked at Bush's teat? Those guys lived next door for years. We suck... how did tony fall for that, European guilt over meddling in the middle east.? I expected Americans to be gullible, bit people surrounded by independent states? You enablers.
/sarcastic rant
- nosecohn, on 04/16/2008, -0/+10The spirit of independence is woven into the American psyche. Obama promoting his popularity with Europeans would do him more harm than good. In the last election, all Bush had to do was vaguely suggest that John Kerry was French to knock him down a few steps. I do think being respected by our allies and other world leaders would help Obama as president, but as a point to campaign on, it's a loser in America.
- dualboy24, on 04/16/2008, -1/+9http://www.whowouldtheworldelect.com/
Obama really has a huge lead over Hilary already.- cjshamrock, on 04/16/2008, -1/+5Yeah. Obama is really the world's favorite candidate. Except for the radical terrorists, they probably prefer McCain who would give them even more excuses to attack America. Axis of Evil, blah blah blah. Go get Bin Laden already.
But I mean, if you're a terrorist and you see Obama, an intelligent black man, who has had contact with your culture, willing to talk, running the White House, and he's not talking about bombing you or exploring your country, well, maybe that would change a lot of terrorists priorities in life - and maybe even motivate them to make their countries better instead of killing innocent people overseas.
People hate Bush's America. It's time someone took over and made America the great country that it used to be. I'm sure Obama can convert the 'haters'.
- cjshamrock, on 04/16/2008, -1/+5Yeah. Obama is really the world's favorite candidate. Except for the radical terrorists, they probably prefer McCain who would give them even more excuses to attack America. Axis of Evil, blah blah blah. Go get Bin Laden already.
- zooplibob, on 04/16/2008, -8/+4Yes I'm sure that you in the EU poll US citizens about who they like in your elections as well right? Because we in the US are better suited to pick your leader than you are, right? Or maybe you'd tell us to mind our own business.
- digitalpencil, on 04/16/2008, -2/+4You poll to get an idea of the general consensus.. It doesn't necessarily have to affect your vote. I'd have no objection to polling UK candidates in the US, it's not like it directly affects anything, just nice to know what other nations are thinking.
- trickyt, on 04/16/2008, -1/+6Relax. It's okay for other people to have opinions. They won't bite, I promise.
- Malevolant, on 04/16/2008, -2/+6jedmed your post is one of the most ridiculous, and massively ignorant, I've read in quite some time here. I love Brits, and all of that, but foreign countries should never have any say so in another country's election process....EVER. This has nothing to do with xenophobia, thinking you're better than another, or anything of that nature. A country should always do what's best for said country, not what another country thinks is best for it. There are actually protections in place for things like this, if you didn't already know, as outside influences can start to impede on said countries sovereignty.
Why don't you suggest that Britain elect their officials based on American polls, I'm sure that would be a non-issue........- petrodollar, on 04/16/2008, -2/+4Following your logic, Americans had no business supporting Churchill and condemining Hitler.
- digitalpencil, on 04/16/2008, -1/+3No he's saying that foreigners shouldn't be able to affect another country's voting process, as an Englishman I agree. It doesn't mean that he doesn't condemn Hitler or that I don't support Obama. But he shouldn't be allowed to vote Tory/Labour anymore than I should be able to vote GOP/Democrats.
- petrodollar, on 04/16/2008, -3/+2He said "foreign countries should never have any say so in another country's election process"
having any say so in annother country's election process =/= voting.
Stepping in to ensure that a country's democracy be preserved, or that a dictatorial gov't be replaced with a representative one, means "having a say" in that country's "election process."
- petrodollar, on 04/16/2008, -2/+4Following your logic, Americans had no business supporting Churchill and condemining Hitler.
- dafunkmonster, on 04/16/2008, -3/+2On the contrary. It is no business of Europe's who we as US citizens elect as president. We should refuse to give up our national sovereignty in such a manner.

- MrSlumberjack, on 04/16/2008, -1/+5I'm pretty sure that's the type of attitude that the majority of Hillary voters have
- Murdats, on 04/16/2008, -23/+3I think most barely informed people all over the world dearly hope that obama wins, I mean his competition are a women who has shown herself to stop at nothing from lies to secrets to get what she wants, and havent you had enough of that? I know that we have. and as for mccain, doesnt your country hate science enough already? seriously, you guys are the home to;
creationists,
UFO nutters,
phycics (in part with british)
homeopathy (also with the british)
chiropractic medicine,
scientology,
faith healing
and so on and so forth. maybe having someone who could help your science could help reduce the worlds opinion that you are all idiots, because the vast number of people who believe in the above (most of which are from america) arent helping there, plus we get some cool technology and medicine out of it.- lamiaconfitor, on 04/16/2008, -9/+1Sadly, I think you may be right, Digg me down only if you are American and think I am wrong. - psylent, on 04/16/2008, -7/+82Calling in from Australia to say: GET OBAMA INTO THE FREAKING WHITEHOUSE
- bruce86, on 04/16/2008, -15/+4I heard that australia loves bush
- senorcool, on 04/16/2008, -1/+7ive heard from a bunch of australians and many americans who studied abroad there that they all hate him.
- acero47, on 04/16/2008, -1/+13I dugg you up because I think you were trying to make a pun on the term "the bush" related to Australia, but now I'm not so sure.
- chromerium, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3we love bush but not Bush.
- bruce86, on 04/16/2008, -15/+4I heard that australia loves bush
- lamiaconfitor, on 04/16/2008, -6/+9Yes Sir, rest of the world, Sir! There are plenty of us fighting. I hope it's enough.
- Aphrael, on 04/16/2008, -2/+34From where I'm standing (Holland) Obama seems like a someone with common sense and integrity, something very much needed in the white house!
- norcalscan, on 04/16/2008, -3/+10Does Holland not have computer desks that you can sit at?
- chanop, on 04/16/2008, -1/+4ROFL - and while I was rolling, I broke my IKEA desk
- wrxpert, on 04/16/2008, -1/+2Sad part is that there are many Americans that don't favor common sense or integrity. They favor the candidate that will not raise there taxes. I actually have a friend who said "I make ( x amount) I have to vote republican". That is an attitude that makes me sad.
- chromerium, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3Ouch, that sucks.
- norcalscan, on 04/16/2008, -3/+10Does Holland not have computer desks that you can sit at?
- Risingashes, on 04/16/2008, -3/+26Australia here.
Please Americans- don't let us down.- Malevolant, on 04/16/2008, -5/+2Nothing against you, but we do not elect people just because someone from another country thinks it's in OUR best interest. Unless you live here, you have no basis to offer any opinion on who we should and can vote for.
- msk275, on 04/16/2008, -2/+2Same attitude as Bush. Thanks, you jackass.
- andrewtheart, on 04/16/2008, -1/+3That's a load of crap, and you know it. Anybody with basic historical knowledge and common sense has a "basis" or right to offer their objective opinion on this matter. America is certainly doing a poor job of it themselves, look at who we got elected into office for the past few years. I don't think being American has anything to do with the validity of one's political opinions on America.
- Malevolant, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1No it's a load of crap in your eyes, not mine. People can offer their opinion all they want, but unless they are a citizen of said country, their opinion is irrelevant. A country must do what's best for itself and not what citizens of other countries think, within reason of course, meaning if we nuked twenty countries, other nations should get involved, but in our current world, they should mind their own affairs.
Regardless of who's in office it is the responsibility of the citizens, and not foreigners, to take care of things, as regardless of what some many ignorant people here think, America is a free nation and needs to take responsibility for itself. As said long ago, we deserve the leaders we elect. It's also our fault if they suck as we have the power to change things, and no obama isn't who I am referring to, as the word change was here, long before he started exploiting it. - jameshighmore, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Malevolant: so by your logic, you're saying that it is entirely irrelevant that most nations in the world are not happy with your current President?
I can't help getting the feeling that you're a little angry because it seems like everybody is demanding Obama in office. - Reaper2806, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1Malevolant
You don't think that your President's appeal to other nations should affect your vote? You don't think that the cooperation of other nations is vital to your economy, your foreign policies, your well being on a very real level? America would take a huge hit if the UK no longer backed it, don't be so dismissive of the rest of the world. Globalisation is here, it's happening, and it means what happens on one side of the world, can have big implications at the opposite end.
- Malevolant, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1No it's a load of crap in your eyes, not mine. People can offer their opinion all they want, but unless they are a citizen of said country, their opinion is irrelevant. - chromerium, on 04/16/2008, -1/+3As the leader of the free world, the next leader of the United States is of direct relevance to It's allies.
You, sir, underestimate the importance of the position.
- Pherdnut, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3Hey, don't you guys let US down. Every time I was telling people we were alienating our allies I had to listen to them talk about Australia and the Brits. Check in with NZ next time, alright? They're saner than you are.
- Malevolant, on 04/16/2008, -5/+2Nothing against you, but we do not elect people just because someone from another country thinks it's in OUR best interest. Unless you live here, you have no basis to offer any opinion on who we should and can vote for.

- showat, on 04/16/2008, -4/+3Calm yourself sailor. I'm voting for Obama, but its not like he's not some god. People see things differently, lets hear it out to the end.
- Murdats, on 04/16/2008, -2/+10no he isnt, but he is the least evil or retarded option you have, and you really really need someone who can possibly be called 'at least average'
you can start from there and work your way up to good.- Malevolant, on 04/16/2008, -2/+2Please stick to your own country, in terms of having an opinion, of who one should vote for. It's very condescending to tell us what we need and then speaking down to us about what we should do. I know a lot of non-Americans like to weigh in and tell us what's best, because you think we're all stupid, but we're not, and we'll do just fine without foreign intervention.
- Murdats, on 04/16/2008, -1/+3can you blame us all for thinking otherwise?
just look at the state of the world today and who is responsible, and he got voted in again!
so dont blame us if we dont trust you to vote the best way. - BruiserBob, on 04/16/2008, -1/+3While in general I agree with you..come on dude...we RE-elected Bush...
- petrodollar, on 04/16/2008, -1/+2"we're not, and we'll do just fine without foreign intervention."
And by "just fine" I presume you mean "we'll continue to ***** the bed and squander our wealth and wind up forever in debt to the chinaman." - showat, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2Murdate, if you are saying that the state of the world is soley due to the US. I hope to god our nation pulls all foreign aid, withdraws from nato and lets you EU / Africa ***** die in a huge fire.

- cjshamrock, on 04/16/2008, -1/+6May the Force be with Americans.
- wrxpert, on 04/16/2008, -1/+2Thanks. It is nice to see that non-Americans realize a lot of us are unhappy with America also. I went to New Zealand and there were quite a few young people who called me "***** Yank!".
- jameshighmore, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1I'd love to visit some day. I have an American flatmate, one of the best people I know. Plus, you have the best TV shows and movies (excluding anything Simon Pegg-related, anyway).
- Malevolant, on 04/16/2008, -0/+2If the people posting here, from foreign countries, think that digg is representative of the average American, you couldn't be more wrong. When people like wrxpert, above, say things like, "t is nice to see that non-Americans realize a lot of us are unhappy with America also", they aren't speaking for everyone, they are generalizing. Digg is representative of a very liberal ideology, not far right, and definitely not centrist, so understand this before coming to the conclusion that digg is a microcosm of America, it isn't, or even close.
P.S. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are two of the funniest people on the planet. - jameshighmore, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Well, *****. Where do all the Diggers live then? I'll just pop over to there.
- wrxpert, on 04/16/2008, -1/+2Thanks. It is nice to see that non-Americans realize a lot of us are unhappy with America also. I went to New Zealand and there were quite a few young people who called me "***** Yank!".

- iiviip3, on 04/16/2008, -2/+37Dear Rest of the World,
Nice to hear from you pulling for us. We will try to get this done I assure you. Hope to speak peacefully soon.
Sincerely,
USA
ps - Don't hold the current President against us. We didnt vote for him, especially not the first time.- petrodollar, on 04/16/2008, -5/+3Dear Rest of the World,
Actually, you can go ahead and hold him against the the southern jesus freaks. We really should have let them secede so that they can enjoy the standard of living they deserve, which is only slightly higher than Mexico's.- finir, on 04/16/2008, -1/+4That was rather rude. I'm from Texas and I know many people here who are displeased with Bush, and I, for one, don't recollect voting for him. So, please, keep your rather moronic statements to yourself.
And on another note, The South shall rise again!!- petrodollar, on 04/16/2008, -4/+2Are you a jesus freak? If not, my comment doesn't apply to you. If so, you should be ashamed of yourself for not having voted for The Decider.
- finir, on 04/16/2008, -1/+4That was rather rude. I'm from Texas and I know many people here who are displeased with Bush, and I, for one, don't recollect voting for him. So, please, keep your rather moronic statements to yourself.
- Malevolant, on 04/16/2008, -2/+3Dear Rest of the World,
No one on digg speaks for all Americans, so ignore anyone who tries to do so, as they are only speaking for themselves and/or certain digg users, period. Also realize that when someone stereotypes southern Americans, they show their ignorance, as not all southerners are stupid, just like all liberals aren't Marxists, all Germans aren't Nazis, all Australians aren't born of prisoners, all black people aren't good at basketball, all white people can't dance, etc., etc., etc....I think you get my point.- petrodollar, on 04/16/2008, -5/+1"not all southerners are stupid"
No, but most of them are: - sadsadrobot, on 04/16/2008, -2/+4"all black people aren't good at basketball"
Yeah, well maybe not the retarded ones, but come on.- petrodollar, on 04/16/2008, -1/+3Unfortunately, we have voting statistics to back my claims about southerners.
- petrodollar, on 04/16/2008, -5/+1"not all southerners are stupid"
- petrodollar, on 04/16/2008, -5/+3Dear Rest of the World,

- seafish69, on 04/16/2008, -1/+28from a former Soviet Republic: Please people of America, put this guy in the White House! He's so far and above, it sure will be an interesting and reassuring 4 years!!! And we, people abroad, do NOT hate you Americans, we hate your Administration! In fact, when it comes to Americans, there is a LOT of sympathy out there!
- chromerium, on 04/16/2008, -1/+3Well, except for the %51 that voted Bush in, twice. I'm sending all of those to their room.
- Fozefy, on 04/16/2008, -2/+27Agreed, from Canada.
- CthulhuDawn, on 04/16/2008, -1/+15We're trying down here in North Carolina, mate. :-)
- ssj2119, on 04/16/2008, -3/+18I think us Brits should be allowed to vote :p - you guys effect us so much.
So yeah, Please please please vote Obama- lulzy, on 04/16/2008, -1/+7i wish you could, maybe then we could override allthe stupid republicans lol
- digitalpencil, on 04/16/2008, -2/+4As an Englishman and supporter of Obama, we invariably should not be allowed to vote. The elected officials of western nations affect all other western nations but the process by which they are elected should obviously be limited to a countries' citizens. I would hate for US citizens to be able to affect UK vote (no offence). I do however, support Obama and feel he would make a great President & hope in my heart of hearts that he gets in as Clinton or McCain would be a ***** nightmare!
- petrodollar, on 04/16/2008, -2/+10Can you guys please re-colonize us again so we can more sensible foreign and domestic policies, cars that get respectable mileage, and legal mj? Seriously, we Americans (especially the southerners) don't seem very capable of running things on our own.
- Malevolant, on 04/16/2008, -6/+1Wow, your ignorance is amazing. Speak for yourself, in terms of not being capable of running anything, and coming here to cry about it. You're the exact reason we can't get a lot of things done. Your defeatist attitude sucks.
- petrodollar, on 04/17/2008, -2/+1"You're the exact reason we can't get a lot of things done."
Actually no, I'm not.
- petrodollar, on 04/17/2008, -2/+1"You're the exact reason we can't get a lot of things done."
- Refrag, on 04/17/2008, -3/+1Right. As if the British didn't play their part in all of this mess.
- petrodollar, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2They were secondary actors. There would be no iraq war but for bush and the red staters who tongued his ass for 6+ years.
- Malevolant, on 04/16/2008, -6/+1Wow, your ignorance is amazing. Speak for yourself, in terms of not being capable of running anything, and coming here to cry about it. You're the exact reason we can't get a lot of things done. Your defeatist attitude sucks.

- ParaSwarm, on 04/16/2008, -2/+4lol... I guess nobody got the sarcasm.
- lulzy, on 04/16/2008, -2/+7it's nice to see that there are some british still around who can set aside their hatred of Americans and add something useful to the conversation.
good show sir - TheDerk, on 04/16/2008, -1/+15Agreed. From a tiny Caribbean isle.
- digitalpencil, on 04/16/2008, -1/+3Seconded, we're all Obama fans!
- blackjack75, on 04/16/2008, -1/+8And we agree in Switzerland too! And that is despite the fact that most of us do not even know the name of the current president of our confederation :-)
- jedmed, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3I know this is already a long thread, but please continue to express your viewpoints on all the candidates. It's a very small world, but it's still too big for me to be able to get out and talk to everyone. Listening to your comments is as close as I will ever get and I love listening to you guys.
Big thanks for taking the time to drop in.- jedmed, on 04/16/2008, -0/+2P.S. Thanks for the references pintomp3; particularly the first one. (I'm a big Obama supporter).
- Malevolant, on 04/16/2008, -7/+1I'd love to see the ip's from all these people claiming to be from other countries. Most of them sound just like Americans trying to pass themselves off as foreigners. I can pretty much guarantee most of the "foreigners" are pro-Obama spammers. 100% guaranteed b.s.
- karolisonline, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3Countires supporting US is a bit dependet from its politics, so if bush goes to afganistan NATO countries goes to war, if you go to iraq.... so lithuania also supports Obama. I think all europe supports Obama, maybe even russia..
- TuxedoMax, on 04/16/2008, -1/+6Dear US,
Please vote in Obama and see what you can do what you can to eliminate NAFTA. It's nothing personal, we just feel that your economy is a bit shaky and we're somewhat nervous about being the small ship chained to a large ship when it looks like the latter is beginning to sink. Please help us loosen the chains a bit and in return we'll still have enough of a society to be the butt of your amusing joke about the lumberjack.
Lots of love,
Canada- mrASSMAN, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3Wow.. a Canadian who wants to get rid of NAFTA? Weird..
- Hillsfar, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1Canada LOVES NAFTA.
- Fozefy, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4I don't get why Americans think we as Canadians love NAFTA. Neither countries' citizens likes it, it merely allows American companies to take over Canadian ones, and most of the giant corporations in Canada are now all owned by Americans. Also, America blatantly ignores NAFTA in some instances, such as with soft wood lumber (look up the softwood lumber dispute if you don't know what I'm talking about.

- iEnigma, on 04/16/2008, -5/+104I think he went kind of easy on her, honestly.

- lamiaconfitor, on 04/16/2008, -1/+9My only grievance is that he should have challenged Barack to a sing off.
L, is for the way you look, at me... - CabesMojo, on 04/16/2008, -3/+8Oh he went super easy, I mean what was the toughest question he asked her.............how many silver spoons?
- lamiaconfitor, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3It is a comedy show, how often does he actually ask real questions?
- CabesMojo, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Oh he doesn't always ask real questions but he usually takes jabs.
- lamiaconfitor, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3It is a comedy show, how often does he actually ask real questions?

- Pstall, on 04/16/2008, -1/+6Yeah with all those hardballs Colbert was throwing at her I am amazed at how well she did.
- aldenhg, on 04/16/2008, -1/+4"Let's look at children's pictures" isn't exactly a hardball question. Still, I want her to be first lady.
- Pstall, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1I was using something called sarcasm.
- RikkiTikki, on 04/16/2008, -0/+5It's not like he was throwing water on her ala Richard Branson.
- Asheis, on 04/16/2008, -0/+11Well, he tends to have more respect for liberal guests, considering he IS a psuedo-conservative. That being said, Michelle really impressed me here. Not only did she have a sense of humor, but you could tell that she has an intelligence, caring mind. Unless the Obamas are going to do a complete 360 in policy, character, etc when they secure the presidential nomination, They are going to be the best thing that has happened to this country in many, many years.
- mochaman, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3She did great, but we know that Colbert's super ego can go over the top and this time he made an exception much to my surprise he came out with gentler version.
- Pherdnut, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3Holy crap. You guys realize Colbert is an act right? He's not actually conservative. He's lampooning conservatives. It was pretty clear he was a big fan IMO.
- iEnigma, on 04/16/2008, -5/+104I think he went kind of easy on her, honestly.
- Makaveli604, on 04/16/2008, -9/+47I liked this alot better than her other interviews, and I'm not sure if she worked better with Colbert or if he went easier on her, but this was one of his best interviews I've seen in a while.
- MoofTheStoof, on 04/16/2008, -1/+4Well, he does the parody of the O'Reilly self-fellating interview where he's talking and pontificating more than the person he's interviewing. It's parody and it's spot-on, but it can still be tough to watch. He did tone it down a little for Mrs. Obama, and I'm glad. I thought it was a great interview.
- CabesMojo, on 04/16/2008, -3/+2As far as parodying O'Reilly goes, he went way to easy on her, even for parody. I mean he really should have asked about the not being proud of her country in her whole adult life comment, that would seem right on track for the character Colbert plays.
- Aliminator, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3he'll prolly go easy on hillary, too. He's there to give the Colbert Bump, not the Colbert Speedbump. He's not stupid enough to attempt to cause a mess in something so important.
- CabesMojo, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Well not against the left. Hes proven hes got the balls to mock some one as big as the president in their own house in the past.
- Aliminator, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3he'll prolly go easy on hillary, too. He's there to give the Colbert Bump, not the Colbert Speedbump. He's not stupid enough to attempt to cause a mess in something so important.

- mlvassallo, on 04/16/2008, -4/+5It is two words. "a lot".
- icepick602, on 04/16/2008, -0/+4This was one of the best interviews I've seen in a while? I mean come on, she handled herself well and it was entertaining, but it was far from an impressive interview. There was hardly any substance at all
- Makaveli604, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1How often do you see substance in a Colbert interview..
- Kautylia, on 04/16/2008, -1/+2Colbert did go a bit easy on her, but she seemed to handle herself well. She didn't really share any opinions of hers except that she supports Obama, which I suppose is a good call at the moment for the Obamas, since it seems like whatever they're doing is working.
- mumugugu, on 04/16/2008, -5/+24Great... my Colbert video got removed from youtube.
lets see if Viacom is doing the same for Obama's video.- rivalius13, on 04/16/2008, -1/+11When you're running for president you can put anything you want on youtube. Remember, you're only a few months away from diplomatic immunity, which I think covers youtube.
- bsmang, on 04/16/2008, -12/+1I saved a copy just in case it goes away. One of the cool things about using Linux is that it makes it so easy to grab and save a copy of most videos you can watch online.
- Murdats, on 04/16/2008, -1/+14let me fix that for you.
"One of the cool things about using a computer is that it makes it so easy to grab and save a copy of all videos you can watch online."- bsmang, on 04/16/2008, -4/+1I don't know about other OS's.. I just know I used to grab youtube vids out of the firefox cache, then youtube wised up and disabled caching... (Or so I assume -- they stopped appearing there one way or another.) I was like, wtf... But then I noticed that the flash plugin stores videos in the /tmp folder.. so as soon as it's downloaded all the way, it can be simply copied from there to wherever and saved. Maybe the windows flash player does the same thing - or you have some fancy shmancy software to do it for you? I was just noting that it's way easy in Linux:
ls -lrt /tmp
cp /tmp/FlashhfTe0z ~/Desktop/michobama_colbert.flv- Murdats, on 04/16/2008, -2/+4its way easy on anything else.
for 1, every browser has a cache of some sort that usually lets you do something like that though are you sure that the flash file has the video itself, I believe that should only be the player and the player streams the video from the youtube server (but have not bothered to check this).
secondly, there are numerous programs and firefox plugins designed to do exactly this that work on any platform.
I was pointing out that it was a very useless post pointing out how easy it is to download youtube movies, even more useless because you were stating how easy it is in a particular os. - bsmang, on 04/16/2008, -6/+1Well shame on me then. I don't know what I was thinking. I must have thought that your average youtube surfer probably had no idea that you can save the videos since the youtube page makes no mention of any such thing and would seem to be almost against such an idea. My bad. Quick, bury me before someone is mislead.

- Murdats, on 04/16/2008, -2/+4its way easy on anything else.
- bsmang, on 04/16/2008, -4/+1I don't know about other OS's..
- Murdats, on 04/16/2008, -1/+14let me fix that for you.
- mddawso, on 04/16/2008, -0/+5This was posted by Obama's website on youtube. They must have been released the rights.
- MrCalifornia, on 04/16/2008, -0/+2I'm guessing the Obama Youtube feed gets a lot of viewers. Comeday Central is being smart by letting it stay up there even if it's against their normal policy. It's a pretty good endorsement of their show.

- über, on 04/16/2008, -0/+27As an aside, how ***** was Colbert when Matthews let that slip? He looked like he was ready to punch him on air.
- goomba323, on 04/16/2008, -1/+7To be fair, Colbert DID announce that he will be having Hillary on when he did his Larry King Live interview on Monday (and that was at 9pm, even before the Chris Matthews interviews). He also broke the news that he got the scoop about Chris Matthews running for Senate on Larry King. So I doubt he really cared, I think he was saving it so he could announce it at the end of his show to get big applause (or boos?) from the audience.
- DoctorDiamond, on 04/16/2008, -0/+22Larry King was live, though -- the Report was taped live earlier in the day (like 4pm). So knowing that Matthews had already spilled the Clinton beans (and that we'd find out about it in the future), Colbert had no reason to continue concealing her booking. At least he'll get some pumped up ratings if people are watching for her. And scooping Matthews' announcement is a little payback.

- gttim, on 04/16/2008, -8/+77I have to say, my opinion of her changed with that interview. I went from so-so feelings to liking her very much. She comes off much better when she is smiling and joking a bit. Obama married well. Colbert was both funny and gracious. The guy is one of the best at pulling off great interviews.
- goomba323, on 04/16/2008, -1/+2usually his interviews are cringe worthy because the guest have a hard time keeping up (and when they try, it's even more cringe worthy)...just saying, I disagree. Jon Stewart is a better interviewer.

- JDKruger4, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1goomba323 have to agree with you there.... i love Colbert but sometimes I find myself yelling at the TV 'LET THEM SPEAK!".... I've seen multiple interviews where if you actually listen closely the interviewee doesnt actually get out a complete sentence. But I was proud of Sephen last night, he toned it down a bit and did a great job.
- StarlessKnight, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Is that Colbert, or "Colbert" doing it though? Is he slipping in more of his mimicry of people like O'Reilly when he does it?
- crimson117, on 04/16/2008, -0/+2This was quite a softball interview by Colbert, imho. Every joke was blatantly obviously in support of Obama, like he was scared she wouldn't get it if he left any uncertainty. I would have rather seen some good-natured shots fired back and forth. I'm sure she could have kept up.
- goomba323, on 04/16/2008, -1/+2usually his interviews are cringe worthy because the guest have a hard time keeping up (and when they try, it's even more cringe worthy)...just saying, I disagree. Jon Stewart is a better interviewer.

Go-Bama ! - flink405, on 04/16/2008, -32/+4I am guessing half the people voting for Obama just plain hate the Clintons. ABC- anybody but clinton.
(Bet Al Gore now wishes he had run for President.)
All polls say that if Clinton does not get the nomination at least 24% of here followers will be voting for the Republican.
Sorry, but Obama just can´t get elected.- barackoblogger, on 04/16/2008, -0/+12blah blah blah... people have been telling him what he can't do since he first began his campaign.
- jimmyn, on 04/16/2008, -0/+14Well OK then. If 24% of the people voting for Clinton won't vote for Obama and 50% of the people voting for Obama are for anybody but clinton, then I guess Clinton just can't get elected either (actually by this metric she is far less electable than Obama).
I guess we should just close up shop and hand the White House to McCain then. - Thumper13, on 04/16/2008, -1/+14You assume all Republicans are voting for MCBush.

Republican for Obama '08 - rexreason, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1No offense, but I have never seen any poll that says anything like that. If you have a link, please provide it, otherwise I'm going to chalk that up to speculation and heresay.
- Brendan371, on 04/16/2008, -17/+166i'm a republican, and i am voting for mccain because of some of my views on financial and social policy, but I can't help but be taken back by how genuine and energetic the obama machine is. I respect obama/mrs obama and i believe that, whether they win the election or not, they have a very important role to play in bringing bipartisan politics back to reality.

- Kyrceck, on 04/16/2008, -21/+6See if you see that kind of attitude toward McCain from the left on this site.
- SaintStryfe, on 04/16/2008, -10/+5Oh yes, after 8 years of having our patriotism questioned, being reminded that we can be sent to gitmo for not supporting the administration (thank you Ms. Coulter), that we are hurting america by not supporting GW's little Mesopotanian adventure, we're the problem. yeah. Sure buddy.
- trispear, on 04/16/2008, -3/+8I burying you both (Kyrceck and SaintStryfe) down because you both contribute to the problem.
- milkmit, on 04/16/2008, -1/+20In the same way, I respect most of what McCain is about, though I've got to admit that I've thought a bit less of him more recently (basically, since his huge Iraq gaffe last year).
I'm not absolutely crazy about all of McCain's positions, but he'd make a helluva better president than the man we now have (his principles, at least, are in a more rational place), and I'm scared at the thought of what I'd do if it came down to McCain and Clinton. - scamper22, on 04/16/2008, -14/+5yeah, I'm Canadian, and I'd have to vote for mccain if I could vote.
I don't doubt Mr/Mrs Obama's desire for change, I just totally disagree with almost all their policies. After all, it's still the democratic party. He's not immune to the influence of teacher unions, public sector workers, feminists... Reading his policies, it seems he's just towing the party line.
Call me again when Obama runs as an independent and develops better policies. Then I'd vote for him.- dualboy24, on 04/16/2008, -0/+9And McCain seems like he wants to agree with all of Bush's policies whenever he doesn't know about the topic "I am not sure what my stance is on that but I am sure I back the president", so I would say McCain would be an 4 year extension onto 8 years of hell. McCain doesn't know his positions, doesn't write his own speeches, but does from what I have been reading have a short temper.
- scamper22, on 04/16/2008, -2/+0yeah that he is. but he will be a spending balance against a democratic senate/congress. meanwhile, given that I don't belong to the public sector, am not a senior, I gain nothing with Obama being in charge.
So given that I think they're both worthless, I'll take the one that leaves me with more freedom and more money in the pocket.- badjoke, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1Don't vote selfishly, vote for what's best for the nation/world.

or for the politician that's going to give them the most *****?
Are they going to give up their pensions for the stability of the country? Not bloody likely.
I would vote for what's best (Ron Paul). but he's out, so given the choice of 3 regular politicians, I'll go with the one that most suites my values and isn't going to rob me.
- scamper22, on 04/16/2008, -2/+0yeah that he is. but he will be a spending balance against a democratic senate/congress. meanwhile, given that I don't belong to the public sector, am not a senior, I gain nothing with Obama being in charge.

- mateo60, on 04/16/2008, -0/+12As an Obama supporter, I still respect John McCain. One of my biggest disagreements with him is regarding his economic policies because they seem to be based more on ideology than practicality. However I do think it took massive stones for him to speak in front of the hotel where MLK got shot and admit and apologize for voting against a national MLK holiday.
- blackinthmiddle, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1I also have respect for McCain. However, you know as well as I do that he's only apologizing now because he's running for president. What makes it worse is his excuse for voting against him. "I was in a P.O.W. camp and never learned of MLK." That's right up there with the dog ate my homework.

- JDKruger4, on 04/16/2008, -1/+3The smashing of the guitars was lame afterwords tho.... why can't a band just stop playing when they are done? Donate those nice guitars, there are tons of budding musicians who would love to have a guitar played by the Roots or a guitar period for that matter.... but no... i must struggle to get the guitar strap off my shoulder, look incredibly awkward and then smash my guitar because thats what rock ppl do!
- CobolNoFun, on 04/16/2008, -2/+0lol, they didnt even do a good job of smashing them. They failed on the first couple attempts.

This IS the worst crop of candidates we as a nation have ever had.
Vote for none of the above.- swrostmore, on 04/16/2008, -3/+16Not voting is an endorsement of all 3 candidates. No vote = a vote for whoever wins.

- SuperVepr308, on 04/16/2008, -26/+13Ok, is she proud to be American yet? What is the status on that? These are the things I need to know.
- seekskater21, on 04/16/2008, -3/+3I'm with SuperVepr. She came to speak here at CMU a few weeks ago, and she never really cleared that up for me.
- IpecacNeat, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1Spare me. She has done more and will do more to help this country than you will ever do.
- SuperVepr308, on 04/16/2008, -2/+1Really? Can you give some examples other than being married to your Christ figure?
- IpecacNeat, on 04/17/2008, -0/+0In 1993, she became Executive Director for the Chicago office of Public Allies, a non-profit organization encouraging young people to work on social issues in nonprofit groups and government agencies.[5]
In May 2006, Essence magazine listed her among "25 of the World's Most Inspiring Women."[18] -Which is big because she is an inspiration for less fortunate kids all around the country. They can bring themselves up from poverty and go to Harvard.
Michelle and Barack also donated 240,000 dollars to charity. (She made more than he does as of last year.) That is 5.7 percent of their income.
What have you done?

honestly, that this is even a question to people is absurd. you can be proud of something without being happy about all of it. what are you all Mitt Romney clones?- SuperVepr308, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1Actually, I asked wtf does she think. I know what I think.

- flink405, on 04/16/2008, -10/+12All of their friends are lawyers, yet every woman she knows is struggling to keep her head above water.
Hmmmm....- Muzikal203, on 04/16/2008, -2/+11It's really expensive to become a lawyer, and to remain licensed as a lawyer. Contrary to popular opinion, most lawyers aren't getting paid over $50,000 a year, they may actually make significantly less than that.
- OralCavity, on 04/16/2008, -1/+3my friend is a lawyer (public defender) and gets paid substantially less than 50k / year
- Codee, on 04/16/2008, -1/+2This is very true. i have a friend whom had struggled for years and had only recently, gotten a job that would pull her out of the mud. She was at a dead end job and she is brilliant. All lawyers aren't rich. Now THAT is a fairy tale.
- Pstall, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Why does it say that the average starting salary for a lawyer is 58k then?
http://www.payscale.com/research/US/Job=Attorney_% ...
- azpat, on 04/16/2008, -1/+2You think she might have sisters, aunts, cousins, or her circle of friends and family are exclusively lawyers.
- IpecacNeat, on 04/16/2008, -1/+2Considering where she came from, I think she might have some people who she knows who are struggling.
- Krisgi, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1It's not just about money. Being a working mother, for however much money you make, is a stressful balancing act. You might be able to pay people to help out with the kids and the house, but if you really want to spend quality time with your family, it's hard. You say to yourself, hell, I'm totally stretched emotionally on most days, and you wonder what women do when they have to go it alone. It makes you rally with them even more.

- ShinySorceress, on 04/16/2008, -7/+34That was my first at Michelle Obama. She is hot, intelligent, but also relaxed and real. No wonder, considering what I know of her husband. I want her as my first lady!
- SaintStryfe, on 04/16/2008, -0/+7She reminds me of Clare Huxtable from The Cosby Show. And damn do I want me some Felicia Rashad as first lady.
- Kyrceck, on 04/16/2008, -26/+6Doesn't really excuse her "feel sorry for me" speeches where she basically said, "I went to Harvard and I was black and nobody loved me." WACISM! Stupid bitch. ***** her and her annoying husband.

- solid12345, on 04/16/2008, -3/+1Going to Harvard and making 500 grand a year and then bitching about the cost of student loans and private school for your kids?
If you are a millionaire who complains about the cost of taxes you are a Republican
If you are a millionaire who complains about the cost of private school you are a democrat. - aschocobo, on 04/16/2008, -0/+5she came from very earnest backgrounds was was able to bubble up to the top, and you bitch.
i'm more than willing to bet, that if she had stayed in poverty, did nothing to improve her quality of life, or pursue a higher education, she would more than likely need some kind of federal assistance, and you'd bitch even more.
you can't have it both ways. - solid12345, on 04/16/2008, -3/+1No you can have it both ways. You cannot complain that your life AFTER being rich is tough and difficult. If she was saying, "yeah it was a struggle to get into Harvard and I had to work 2 jobs to pay for school" I could understand that. But no she is complaining that "life is so hard" after achieving a doctorate and millions in wealth.
