Designed by Heinrich Strack after 1864 to commemorate the Prussian victory in the Danish-Prussian War, by the time it was inaugurated on 2 September 1873, Prussia had also defeated Austria in the Austro-Prussian War (1866) and France in the Franco-Prussian War (1870–71), giving the statue a new purpose. Different from the original plans, these later victories in the so-called unification wars inspired the addition of the bronze sculpture of Victoria, 8.3 meters high and weighing 35 tonnes, designed by Friedrich Drake. Berliners, with their fondness for giving nicknames to famous buildings, call the statue Goldelse, meaning something like "Golden Lizzy".[1] - caramba420, on 07/25/2008, -1/+1Wow! This is unbelievable. Let's try to run down the logic again...
Obama stood in front of the Victory Column.
The Victory Column is in Germany.
Hitler rose to power in Germany (70 years after the Victory Column was built).
Therefore, Obama is a Nazi!
Thanks for clearing that up for me Michelle. Without your clear thinking and relentless pursuit of truth, we would all still be in the dark about this.
Is it just me, or are they starting to really get desperate in the face of certain defeat in November?
I'd probably still give her a good hate-*****, though. - TruthTeller50, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1As a McCain supporter I wish Michelle Malkin would be removed from the air.
Her bikini photos I can handle, and actually find oddly hot. She's both
a political pundit and a drunken frat girl. Everyone has made mistakes
in their lives - I can forgive that.
What's unforgiveable is this "reporting." No one in America will understand
this psychotic logic - and it will only drive people away from McCain and
toward Obama, if only out of spite for poor journalism.
Michelle Malkin couldn't get a newsjob on MTV.
