- johnny222, on 12/03/2007, -5/+34It's nice to know it's on his website now. I'm betting his site gets more traffic than posted stories on digg (for the average American), which means more recognition should come his way.
- TyroPyro, on 12/03/2007, -52/+7When he polls 8% in a month, will everyone blame "the military-industrial complex, the biased media, the big banks, the Fed, the waterboarders, and the IRS?"
- pictureDIGGER, on 12/03/2007, -5/+23Why do you people troll Ron Paul Submissions? You got in as soon as this blog was even posted on the internet. Obsess much? Yes, I am a obsessive supporter of Ron Paul, and proud of it. But why are you so urgent to get your point across? And why the hell did you read the entire article when you truly don't care for Ron Paul?
( http://digg.com/users/TyroPyro/history/comments )- TyroPyro, on 12/03/2007, -24/+6I used to love Digg. Now there is a minimum of 1-2 Ron Paul articles in the top page every day. I don't want to un-check 2008 Election Articles, because politics interest me. So, I "troll."
To answer your question, I do it because Ron Paul supporters seem too isolated and unaware of his voting record. Is it really trolling? In most of my comments I am trying to inspire some discussion about the issues or make people think about their support. There is a lot of vague general talk (like the things I quoted in my original comment) about what Ron Paul will do, but not enough hard examination of the realities. My "urgency" comes from the fact that I am a little shocked at how many Ron Paul supporters there are who are completely unaware of his voting record.- pictureDIGGER, on 12/03/2007, -2/+14Why don't you spend some of your time here promoting your candidates of choice, Obama and Biden could sure use some help. By the way your comment wasn't inspiring any discussion. It was trolling.
- card51short, on 12/03/2007, -3/+8^^^pictureDIGGER you expect a ron paul hater to be FOR something?
He doesn't have a candidate...he just as an anti-candidate.
It's what these people do. They have nothing to be for so they are against everything. - pictureDIGGER, on 12/03/2007, -1/+6card51short, check out his profile.
- slenderdog, on 12/03/2007, -4/+1So tell us about his voting record.
- TyroPyro, on 12/03/2007, -5/+3These are the links I've been throwing around. The intros may sound biased but take a look at the data in them and you may raise an eyebrow

http://dneiwert.blogspot.com/2007/11/ron-pauls-rec ... - mokkan88, on 12/04/2007, -0/+3You misunderstand his motives. His voting record, as you should be aware if you've followed him as closely as you claim, is based on whether or not what is being proposed is constitutional. Ron Paul is very open about his record of NOT spending the American People's money. He believes those decisions are for state and local governments to make, rather than the federal government. How should the officials in Washington know what's right for places like Hawaii, Alaska, Oregon, Utah and the like? A centralized government with so much power cannot effectively serve the People.
- TyroPyro, on 12/03/2007, -5/+3These are the links I've been throwing around. The intros may sound biased but take a look at the data in them and you may raise an eyebrow
- Mast3rDigg3r, on 12/03/2007, -1/+4i like his voting record yay
- avothecat, on 12/04/2007, -0/+2I ca n appreciate discussion, when itt's based on facts. But there is so much misinfmation in the first link you provided. Even from my limited knowledge I can already bash some of the junk in that first link. And I'm not even American. This article basicaly sums up all internet myths about Ron Paul that exist, and is biased as hell since it ALWAYS only mentions a blatant internet myth and not the other side of the story; like Ron Paul's responses. Because the fun thing is; if you ask a question to their campaign about any of these issues? You get a clear explanation.
1) as far as i get it, ron paul does not want to turn the dollar into a 100% gold backed currency. I've seen an interview in which he explained that he wants to allow competing currencies, and use the gold reserve that the US does have to create a 100% gold backed competing surrency that would probably win in popularity over time.
2) I also see a lot of numbers being thrown around that are seemingly random; such as the money that would be saved after foreign aid is abolished and the state departent is shut down. This article states it saves only 180 billiob. Without stating how it got to that number. I've seen another article state a number at least three times as large, at least providing some information as to how that number was calculated.
3) Ah, the Ron Paul is a racist thing. This article in his newsletter was not actually written by Ron himself as this link claims, but by an assistant. I believe the person in question was fired. People continue to bring this up and that is fine, just mention both sides of the story please? otherwise, your article simply is biased.
4) oh yeah, the ron paul introduces leglisation that he likes, then votes against it to make his voting record look good and leaves it to others to vote for it. A lie. The whole flag burning thing mentioned here for instance; Ron paul was against it, but merely introduced leglislation to force congress to vote on it the a constitutional way. Naturally since he was against it he did not vote for it. - ptrr, on 12/05/2007, -0/+4I remember a couple months ago neo-fascists like good ol Pyro were saying Paul didn't have a chance because he was polling 1%, now it's 8% and rising. How's Ghouliani, Billary and the crew of misfits doing?
- thewump, on 12/03/2007, -4/+17Pyro, you're being an idiot. Ron Paul supporters are perhaps the BEST educated people about his history.. you don't get this passionate without due dilligence. You on the other hand, don't get it.. you don't scratch the surface enough. You probably see a vote against a medal for Rosa Parks.. WE go, "he did?" and find out why.. that he thought it was a bad use of our money, and he offered to pay for part of it himself instead. The more we dig, the more we like.
- onetimer, on 12/03/2007, -11/+4Paul didn't think it was a waste of money when they gave one to Sinatra, so that "dont waste taxpayer money" excuse is gone. For some reason he objected to ROSA PARKS getting one though...
- TheTaoOfBill, on 12/03/2007, -3/+9Perhaps he hadn't yet established an opinion at that point. That was 10 years ago But Rosa Parks is not the only person he rejected. He also rejected giving a congressional medal of honor to Ronald Regan who had been a close personal friend of his. As well as the Dali Lama and Mother Theresa
- onetimer, on 12/03/2007, -9/+3Hadn't established an opinion? What happened to the "30+ years of consistent voting" that all the paulestinians were bragging about? But keep making excuses.
- TheTaoOfBill, on 12/03/2007, -1/+6He does have 30+ years of consistent voting for only what he believes is constitutional. But he's not perfect. No one claimed he is. He is a human being capable of thinking a subject more throughly and coming up with a conclusion he might not have had earlier in his life. Frankly I'm not too concerned either way he votes on this issue. Everyone who has gotten the congressional medal is in my opinion someone who deserved it. But I support his position (whether it was one he adopted later on or not) that tax payer money should not go to give someone a medal they may or may not agree with. It's just not right. But you're trying to single out Rosa Park's as if that proves he is a racist is plain old flawed by the fact he also denied a medal to a close friend of his for the same reason.
- cwabray, on 12/06/2007, -0/+1he always opposed one for Charles Schulz, the guy who made the Peanuts cartoons (Charlie Brown)
He's been consistent on this point, always offering to contribute $100 of his own money if the rest of Congress would do so.
- Herkimer56, on 12/03/2007, -12/+5Paul has a perfect record of voting against Civil Rights legislation so it's hardly surprising that he would vote against honoring Rosa Parks. You can spin that any way you like but anyone with a brain in their head can see why he voted the way he did.
- card51short, on 12/03/2007, -1/+9@onetimer what do you think is more of a respectful move : voting to have other people pay for their medals or paying for the medal himself?
He offered to buy Rosa Park's medal himself.
If anything, he seems more respectful to Rosa Parks. - onetimer, on 12/03/2007, -8/+1No, he suggested that everyone in the House of reps chip in for a medal. But again you missed the point. Paul didn't have a problem with it in the 90s when Sinatra was to receive a medal.
- TyroPyro, on 12/03/2007, -10/+2It's bigger things than a medal that worry me, that is pretty straight forward.
Why does he want to pull the US out of the ABM treaty? Is this not isolationism? (This could be applied to pulling out of the UN to a lesser extent)
Why does he think the Supreme Court should not be allowed to hear cases specifically on issues of religious text and imagery on government property, abortion, sexual practices, and same-sex marriage?
Why does he think "that the Panama Canal and the Panama Canal Zone should be considered to be the sovereign territory of the United States" yet advocate non-intervention?
There is plenty of stuff like this, and being more educated than all other US voters, I am sure you will answer these questions for yourself
- onetimer, on 12/03/2007, -11/+4Paul didn't think it was a waste of money when they gave one to Sinatra, so that "dont waste taxpayer money" excuse is gone. For some reason he objected to ROSA PARKS getting one though...

- ndnspongebob, on 12/04/2007, -1/+2with your rampant stupidity and a name like pyro, i would of been suprised if you didnt get flamed.
if you ever find a brain, that brain would tell you that ron paul supporter are here BECAUSE of his voting record.
which is only among ONE of the reasons people (all across the country, defying party lines) support him.
- pictureDIGGER, on 12/03/2007, -5/+23Why do you people troll Ron Paul Submissions? You got in as soon as this blog was even posted on the internet. Obsess much? - Herkimer56, on 12/03/2007, -22/+3No, you won't.
- pictureDIGGER, on 12/03/2007, -4/+43Am I weird for being inspired to donate 20 bucks nearly every time he asks for it?. I am not one to be easily parted with his money.
- onetimer, on 12/03/2007, -28/+4No need to worry. That is a typical feeling that goes along with belonging to a cult:
"A destructive cult's leader tends to be determined, domineering, and charismatic. Such a leader effectively persuades followers to abandon or alter their families, friends, and careers to follow the cult. The leader then takes control over followers' possessions, money, time, and lives."
http://www.factnet.org/headlines/destructive_cult_ ...- thirdoffive, on 12/03/2007, -1/+14You've got it backwards man. You've come down with a bad case of Stockholm Syndrome. The Republicrats are holding you hostage and you've begun to identify with your captors.
Damn the establishment and fight back for a change. - metapop, on 12/03/2007, -1/+4your logic makes perfect sense, correct me if i'm wrong:
ron paul is a charismatic leader who inspires those who believe in him to contribute to his cause... cult leaders are "determined, domineering, and charismatic".... i get it, ron paul is teh cultt !!1!!!1!!one! - dylio, on 12/04/2007, -0/+5Paulianity is my new religion, what's yours?

- NSResponder, on 12/03/2007, -0/+24Ron Paul's the first politician who's ever gotten a donation from me. I'd be interested to know how many others that's true for.
-jcr- pjpete, on 12/03/2007, -0/+11Same here - I've never donated to a political party, and have only voted republican once in my life. I actually made my second donation today. Ron Paul really gives me hope for the future that we can set this country back on the right track.
- healthydose, on 12/03/2007, -0/+6Same here. I've neve been involved before. But know I am.
- metapop, on 12/03/2007, -0/+8me too- giving to RP is addictive. participating in the first money bomb was so rewarding, i can't wait for the tea party.
- Underdog83, on 12/03/2007, -0/+9Me as well. Giving today, as I do every Monday, and saving up for my Tea Party contribution.
- WiseWeasel, on 12/03/2007, -0/+5Same here.
- Pritchard, on 12/04/2007, -0/+5I'll be turning 18 by the time it's time for the general election vote. He has my vote, and he's the only politician I've ever given a damn for. One of my main disadvantages of being young was that I grew up in a world wishing someone like Ron Paul existed, having assumed that if it was possible, a politician would support the views he does and run on them. I figured always that there was something stopping these politicians from being good people. Turns out most of the time that what's stopping them is greed. I've been waiting for Ron Paul my whole life. He's a true American, and an inspirational human being across nations.
It's great to see that Ron's wide-spread support isn't just on our own shores. Everyone I talk to from nations abroad are rooting for Paul. - gilliganscorner, on 12/04/2007, -0/+3You couldn't spend your money more wisely than to donate to Ron Paul
- Dquist, on 12/06/2007, -0/+1At least they're supporting someone who will likely make their remaining money worth more in the future.
- onetimer, on 12/03/2007, -28/+4No need to worry. That is a typical feeling that goes along with belonging to a cult:
- cashman57, on 12/03/2007, -2/+47 It is so refreshing to see a politician who speaks the truth and does not babble a bunch of polled and focus grouped answers and one liners we see from others.
- WiseWeasel, on 12/03/2007, -0/+2It's better to say "a politician who speaks *his mind*", not necessarily "the truth". Makes you appear less fanatical.
- trickyt, on 12/04/2007, -0/+2Yes Wise Weasel
- WiseWeasel, on 12/03/2007, -0/+2It's better to say "a politician who speaks *his mind*", not necessarily "the truth". Makes you appear less fanatical.

http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Ron_Paul_Owns_Ow ... - onetimer, on 12/03/2007, -35/+4"But every good American is applauding us, and daring to hope for a better future."
Seems paul writes just as arrogantly as if he were one of his acolytes on digg. I guess we can't be good Americans and not support paul, huh? Looks like he himself has even bought into the nonsense that the "complex" is actively conspiring against him...
Before I wasn't going to vote for Paul because I didn't agree with his policies. Now it's that plus his supercilious attitude.- TheTaoOfBill, on 12/03/2007, -3/+21Most of America thinks the system is out conspiring against them. With wiretapping, illegal wars, nation building and suspension of habeas corpus they have every reason to. So Ron Paul is in tune with a lot of Americans right now.
- onetimer, on 12/03/2007, -14/+5"Most of America thinks the system is out conspiring against them"
Do you have a reasonable source to back that up or did you pull that out of your ass too?- Morfildor, on 12/03/2007, -3/+1One word, lolbama.
- mokkan88, on 12/04/2007, -1/+0Speaking of pulling things out of one's ass, why don't you hit up http://www.factcheck.org/ and look up whomever your favorite politician is. It's an objective, unbiased site with no political affiliations.
- Herkimer56, on 12/03/2007, -15/+4While I do believe that there are paranoid, delusional people out there that believe that the system is conspiring against them, I don't believe that they constitute a majority of Americans. At best we're talking about two to three percent. What I like to call the "Nutball Fringe" but what the press would call "Ron Paul supporters".
- Morfildor, on 12/03/2007, -2/+2Hi.
- mokkan88, on 12/04/2007, -0/+2I believe what Tao meant is that a majority of Americans don't trust the government. To say the government is "conspiring" against us is a bit much, but you'd have to be a fool to believe that the government has been honest with the American People over the last ??? years.
I don't agree with all of Ron Paul's positions, but at least he's an honest, straight-talking alternative to the problem. If you think another calculated, wishy-washy, kiss-the-baby-and-fake-a-smile politician is the better option, it is you who are delusional.
- card51short, on 12/03/2007, -3/+10"At best we're talking about two to three percent."
onetimer...you didn't jump on Herkimer for pulling a number out of his ass.
Then again, if you had to complain every time you saw Herkimer removing things from his ass, you'd be a busy man.
- onetimer, on 12/03/2007, -14/+5"Most of America thinks the system is out conspiring against them"
- DeepFriedFetus, on 12/26/2007, -0/+1There's a difference between optimism and arrogance. Arrogance has a negative connotation. I don't know about you, but peace, freedom, prosperity, and opportunity isn't negative for me. Then again, you could be a fascist.
- TheTaoOfBill, on 12/03/2007, -3/+21Most of America thinks the system is out conspiring against them. With wiretapping, illegal wars, nation building and suspension of habeas corpus they have every reason to. So Ron Paul is in tune with a lot of Americans right now.
- thewump, on 12/03/2007, -2/+24If the system wasn't broken we wouldn't have to work so hard.. but it's worth it.
- digjam, on 12/03/2007, -7/+3read the article and found it interesting, tho i m not sure about his immigration views...
granting amnesty .. i totally agree with him.. no way
opposing immigration reforms...hmmm cant really agree that...- card51short, on 12/03/2007, -1/+3why should we reform? If 50% of the population started committing murder daily, would we introduce more lenient laws regarding murder?
- runderwo, on 12/03/2007, -0/+5Murder is a violent crime that violates the harm principle. Crossing the border is not.
However, allowing undocumented border crossers to remain in a welfare state creates a free-rider problem for the states. The states are bankrupted by the free riders, because the states do not have the luxury of printing money to solve a deficit, and so they beg the federal government for assistance. Instead of defending the borders and the law, the federal government prints money and distributes it to the states, with strings attached, through bureaucracies like the Department of Education and the Department of Health, solving the deficits at the state level, albeit in an inefficient manner. The inflation tax effectively taxes everybody who holds money -- including illegal immigrants, from whom an income tax could not otherwise be collected.
The transfer of wealth through the implicit inflation tax allows the state programs to be placed on life support by the federal government. But it also increases the power and influence of the federal government on the states. This is one reason the federal government has no interest whatsoever in defending the borders, because allowing illegal immigrants to bankrupt state social programs is an incredibly effective mechanism by which power can be centralized in Washington.
- runderwo, on 12/03/2007, -0/+5Murder is a violent crime that violates the harm principle. Crossing the border is not.
- pjpete, on 12/03/2007, -0/+7I don't entirely agree with ALL of his views, but I agree with MOST of them. I don't think it's possible to agree with every single item on any candidates agenda.
- card51short, on 12/03/2007, -1/+3why should we reform? If 50% of the population started committing murder daily, would we introduce more lenient laws regarding murder?

- metapop, on 12/03/2007, -0/+5he talked about both in the message. giuliani had a comment about how many supporters RP has in a what seemed to be sarcastic/negative way. mccain is just an old emotional perhaps senile guy, i'm not so mad at him. giuliani on the other hand, is a crook. he ranks right up there with stephanopolous, whose extremely rude and biased comments to RP's face i will never forgive or forget.

If Ron Paul won, I would be a proud American once more, we would come back to the states in a heartbeat. Something I never thought I'd say! I am amazed at the hope and passion I feel for my country when I'm listening to Dr. Paul. No one could be more surprised.
- blwolfe, on 12/04/2007, -0/+3We're rising again in the polls... the new NATIONAL poll. Everyone get off your damn computers and tell more people... We can pass Thompson and Romney in the next two weeks and with our money nuke in less than those two weeks, who really knows!
- CountJamula, on 12/06/2007, -0/+0The mention of Yorktown was classic. The revolution will not be televised but Washington will feel the roar of the American people come ballot day! Get out to IA, SC, NH, NV and make your voice heard! LET FREEDOM RING!
- quietrevolt, on 12/06/2007, -0/+0I too have never donated to a politician yet I'm donating multiple times to RP - I must confess some pessimism about his chances though. America is just not that bright folks but the postive thing is that we're making history with this grass roots effort.
Perhaps this will lay the foundation for a Libertarian candidate or maybe, just maybe a president with vision and integrity.
Please tell me I'm wrong about RP's chances - I would love nothing more than to see him as our president. I'm doing all I can from California but IA, NH, SC, etc. will set the pace for the nomination. - mookrit, on 12/07/2007, -0/+0I wrote an article describing Ron Paul's policy positions:
