- flogistan, on 04/23/2008, -11/+5This doesn't surprise me. Really stupid people are the ones who don't have any health care. We'd all be better off if they died anyway. Keeping poor stupid red necks alive with affordable health care makes no economic sense.
- victorycig, on 04/24/2008, -1/+6Yes, flogistan is being offensive.
- N3tw0rk, on 04/23/2008, -3/+19Hillary's campaign relies on the ignorance, racism, cynicism and fears of uneducated voters. In reality, it is the Clinton supporters who are "drinking the Kool-Aid".
- victorycig, on 04/24/2008, -1/+3This is my impression exactly. I would add that older voters who are afraid of change and suspect to fear-mongering tactics also support Clinton.
- lucidguru, on 04/24/2008, -2/+1324+ years of Clinton/Bush = Fail
- victorycig, on 04/24/2008, -0/+4I was reading this chart with a skeptical expression fixed on my face until I saw it was from the nytimes domain. I'll trust their math.
- jedmed, on 04/24/2008, -2/+2At least it helps to answer the mind bobbling question: "How could anyone actually vote for that woman?"

- galeninjapan, on 04/24/2008, -1/+2In 2004 how many times did we see that graph that showed that all the southern states are dumber and voted for bush. Didnt Obama win most of those southern states? You cant have your cake and eat it too Digg.
- smotpoker, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1Obviously the additional 4 years of hypocrisy/idiocy and more educated voters coming of age in that time, combined with the optimism and hope Obama inspires in the more youthful and disenchanted voters, has made enough of a difference to swing a few of them in our direction.
You can look at the polling data if you want, it's obvious that Obama wins a higher percentage of voters the smarter they are in nearly every state- galeninjapan, on 04/24/2008, -2/+1I was unaware there was an IQ test right before you vote. There is no DATA that suggests smarter people vote for Obama.
Its also funny that you think the political landscape has changed in 4 years. 4 years is nothing politics.- smotpoker, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1"I was unaware there was an IQ test right before you vote. There is no DATA that suggests smarter people vote for Obama."
Deny it all you want, buddy. It is generally accepted as fact that "if you're smart, you'll go to college and make the most of yourself", and that the smarter you are the longer/further you make it. The polling data lists voting trends based on if you graduated highschool, made it to college, graduated college etc.
Education level doesn't *always* mean smarter but it usually does mean you know more info and are better at processing info objectively, especially when you aggregate data on large numbers of people with different specialties and education levels
"Its also funny that you think the political landscape has changed in 4 years. 4 years is nothing politics."
So one day of tragedy is enough to convince an entire nation that "the world has changed!" (9/11) but 4 years of repeated tragedy and stupidity, more youthful (and more likely to be liberal) voters coming of age and an exceptional candidate is not even enough to sway the political landscape (which was already on the tipping point) towards a democrat candidate?
- smotpoker, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1"I was unaware there was an IQ test right before you vote. There is no DATA that suggests smarter people vote for Obama."

- MetaMars, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1But...it is delicious cake. You must eat it.
- unearth, on 04/24/2008, -0/+2Obama is polling dead even with McCain in North Carolina, and is less than 2-3 percentage points behind him in South Carolina, New Mexico, Nebraska, and TEXAS. Not to mention that he's polling ahead in Colorado. These are all states that elected Bush twice.
I guess my point is that Obama can actually win some traditionally Republican states.

- strobelite33, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1.....*sigh*
- dinot, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1The "richest, most powerful country" in the world has a large number of people who look at education as elitism while embracing ignorance as a virtue...... *sigh*..... *BANG*
- magoblygoo, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1I'm really glad that we have a country that is diverse and doesnt have a dictatorship where one or two families run everything...oh wait. I really hope for the sake of America that no matter who gets elected they have the balls to pull Americas head out of its ass.

I noticed this trend a while back... I only posted a link to msnbc exit poll data, but it clearly indicates the more educated people tend to lean towards obama..- staxofmax, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1....which actually works against Obama because in America education is synonymous with elitism.
Boy do I sound bitter.- smotpoker, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1Nope, just stupid
- staxofmax, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1....which actually works against Obama because in America education is synonymous with elitism.
- suzywang3000, on 04/24/2008, -0/+2...which is ironic.
- itzdiceman, on 04/24/2008, -2/+1..and black people vote for Obama. Racists.
- dinot, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1... and white people DON'T vote for Obama. Racists.
// do you see how ***** stupid this logic is?- itzdiceman, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1It's not logical it is statistical. In Pennsylvania 90% of the black vote and 40% of the white vote went to Obama.
// It's people like you who give coders a bad name.- dinot, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1So 60% of the white vote went to Clinton? OMG racists!
- itzdiceman, on 04/24/2008, -0/+160-40 split and a 90-10 split are not the same thing. Basic math, tool. It's obvious why the split is the way it is.
You have poor debating skills. You stick to sarcasm and have no actual points. Don't digg crap articles up, or post against me, when you act like a ***** idiot. - dinot, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1Oh, now we're calling each other names, are we?
Tell me, what's the cut off point to be considered racist then? 70%? 80%? You've obviously never been part of a minority before, so why don't you try doing that. Live within a community that's 80% black, and if there's a chance to vote for a white leader of that community, you'd lean towards the white person. It's a socio-political FACT that minorities tend to favor the person that looks like them. That's not racist. It IS racist to be part of a majority while calling that minority racist based on that fact. - itzdiceman, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1-The cut off is anywhere between an 80%(black) differential and a 20%(white) differential.
- Why is it obvious I've never been a minority before? Don't make assumptions just because I don't support this article or articles like it that present stupid statistics designed to divide people.
-I have lived in the 19th ward of Rochester, NY. Don't guess at who'd I vote for. Just because you'd do that, doesn't mean everyone will. You don't know me and you're presenting a hypothetical situation. Stick to the facts.
-And yes, favoring a person someone just because I "[look] like them"(YOU) is racism.
-And no, it's not racist to point out to you the difference in voting trends: 3 to 2 vs. 9 to 1.
My first comment was sarcasm pointing out the stupid claims in this article, but you had to say dumb ***** and now you've lost. Give it up man. You know I'm right. Black voters have already admitted it.
Maybe Obama appeals to you and will do something for you, which is fine. Go ahead vote for him. But Obama will not be getting my vote out of sympathy.
- itzdiceman, on 04/24/2008, -0/+160-40 split and a 90-10 split are not the same thing. Basic math, tool. It's obvious why the split is the way it is.
- itzdiceman, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1Oh, and yes to the name thing. I've tried to insult you with every post. It started when I called you a racist.
- dinot, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1So 60% of the white vote went to Clinton? OMG racists!
- itzdiceman, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1It's not logical it is statistical. In Pennsylvania 90% of the black vote and 40% of the white vote went to Obama.
- dinot, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1anyway, let's keep playing this game!
... and white people vote for Obama. Racists with white guilt!
... and rich educated people vote for Obama. Elitist!
... and rich educated people don't vote for Obama. He's a moron!
... and poor people vote for Obama. ***** marxist socialist commie!
... and poor people don't vote for Obama. Elitist!
... and women vote for Obama. Sexist!
... and women don't vote for Obama. Sexist!
and on and on.....- itzdiceman, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1I'm happy to keep playing the game until Obama supporters stop talking about race and racism.
- dinot, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1He will when you people stop bringing it up.
- itzdiceman, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1The article brought it up... Then you diggers dugg it up. If you can't defend yourself please don't post.
- dinot, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1Please explain how you figure it brought up the race card? Because of the first question? Would it make you feel better if they asked "Is the county less than 80% white"?
You people accusing him of bringing up the race card the ones who choose to focus ONLY on the race-issue when it is just one of the many factors in choosing a candidate. - itzdiceman, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1The first split the tree does is by race. I didn't say anything about the race card, you said that. Race is a non-issue. Stop bringing it up.
- dinot, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1You seem to forget about the first post that started this whole debate. Posted BY YOU.
"..and black people vote for Obama. Racists." - itzdiceman, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1You clearly don't read what I post.
The debate was started by the article. Thats why there is a forum beneath every digg, so we can debate them. - dinot, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1You're totally making this hard for me to argue by not being logically coherent.
- dinot, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1He will when you people stop bringing it up.

- MetaMars, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1It's so awesome that the NY Times is turning on Hillary.
- Eiknujrac, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1I find it rather hilarious.
- ruyen, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1So uneducated (and often uninformed) and Bush voters overwhelmingly vote for Clinton. I think it shows how strong of a factor political apathy and name-recognition are in primaries.
- aoliver, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1I wish luck to all you supporters of Barack Obama. You just may need it.
