Jon Stewart Mocks CNN Situation Room's Multi-Screen Format watch!
huffingtonpost.com — Last night on "A Daily Show," Jon Stewart mocked the multi-screen format "The Situation Room." In particular, he commented on the use of one of the six screens to display...Spongebob Square Pants.

- itseffinkasey, on 02/03/2008, -39/+13Haha! honestly thats probably the best clip I've seen of Jon Stewart.
- neptunebk, on 02/03/2008, -1/+45Probably the first episode of the daily show you've seen then.
- nospinhere, on 02/03/2008, -2/+2Well, I tried to watch it but that was the ***** video interface ever. I got half way through and I went to rewind it a little bit, and the thing just stops on me. I tried to go back but all I get is "buffering" thing for eternity. geez, that pisses me off. buried.
- Inquisition, on 02/03/2008, -0/+3How about the best video interface ever.....TELEVISION?!!!!!

- stonedslacker, on 02/03/2008, -0/+16This is not even the best clip of Jon Stewart about CNN's situation room, let alone his whole show. Try googling for "daily show balls on wolf blitzer's face" and variants.
- Gregus1032, on 02/03/2008, -4/+1yea, that one is friggin awesome. john stewart for prez
- anonydigg, on 02/03/2008, -1/+6Your comment is the top result for that query!
- Prodigal19, on 02/03/2008, -0/+4I googled it and the first page that showed up was this one. I feel like I flipped the universe inside out.
- FTLJohnson, on 02/03/2008, -1/+22I believe this to be possibly the funniest clip of the daily show in general: http://www.videosift.com/video/stephen-colbert-swa ...
- notque, on 02/03/2008, -3/+1Agreed, can't believe there's someone else that would actually post that on a funniest clip thread. Bravo sir.
- chilipeppers4u, on 02/03/2008, -0/+6Nooooo! Damn Comedy Central won't let Canadians view their videos :(
- issachar, on 02/03/2008, -3/+3Well surely that will stop piracy...
Plus today I found out that in Texas, "Canadian" is the new codeword slur for blacks...
http://nationalpost.com/most_popular/story.html?id ...
So they definitely need to stop Canadians from seeing their videos... - Ataxia2008, on 02/03/2008, -1/+2lol, we can watch them fine here in the UK...
- issachar, on 02/03/2008, -3/+3Well surely that will stop piracy...

- imaxami, on 02/03/2008, -2/+9Dugg back UP for this person being happy to admit "honestly thats probably the best clip I've seen of Jon Stewart" - you got a problem with that or what? So, this Digg user is happy and elevated in emotions and you gotta bang on his joy-nail with your ego-hammer?? sheesh. Shut up, sit down, Click the up-thumb and move on. /nuffsaid
- po43292, on 02/03/2008, -0/+1Their computers are all fake anyway. Will Ferrel told me.
- neptunebk, on 02/03/2008, -1/+45Probably the first episode of the daily show you've seen then.
- pjpark, on 02/03/2008, -11/+101The Whitehouse with Sponge Bob above (if it's real) is a subtle knock at Bush. I've seen stories on CNN.com where a small picture accompanying an article about the Bush administration is some off-the-wall image such as someone wearing a Bush mask with a Pinocchio nose. It's probably some inside joke among the CNN staff having some fun.
- bannus, on 02/03/2008, -12/+2And there is WHAT THE ***** IS THAT!?
- blckt, on 02/03/2008, -0/+10Yeah it was real I saw that on CNN and was wondering what the ***** was going on
- twistee, on 02/03/2008, -0/+5Or it is because Spongebob was running and he is a mate/friend to all: a running mate. Which is what the video was talking about.
- robwowjo, on 02/03/2008, -3/+27Glad to see CNN can really be considered a force in the world of news.
honestly, who the hell needs six screens!?
And they have those over-the-top sound effects and graphics too (same with Fox) without actually giving us the news. I really hate those "news" networks.- sdcarter, on 02/03/2008, -0/+17But I need to be overstimulated and entertained... otherwise I might actually get my news elsewhere
- MacEnvy, on 02/03/2008, -0/+7It's not news. It's infotainment.

- steelersfan7roe, on 02/03/2008, -13/+73BBC >*
- rz8472, on 02/03/2008, -4/+20PBS is pretty good too.
- Chandon, on 02/03/2008, -4/+10BBC and PBS are worlds ahead of the other TV stations. NPR is slightly ahead of them. Unfortunately, if you travel from Fox News to NPR, you have to go about the same distance again in the same direction to get to reality.
- Barbarino, on 02/03/2008, -4/+3See, this is how uninformed digg really is. The BBC actually had a policy that they could not use the word "terrorist" in their articles. Why in the world would you watch or listen to a news broadcast where they can't use the word terrorist when terrorists killed 3k people on 911 then bombed UK trains... I don't get it. I'm not comparing CNN, Fox BBC, simply point out the fact that if your source is the BBC, know how they present the news to you.
- arethuza, on 02/03/2008, -1/+2Do you have a reference for that policy? I did a quick search on the BBC site and found loads of pages that include the term "terrorist", including:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7222333.stm - BN2L, on 02/03/2008, -2/+7 'Terrorist' is too broad a term. It is a right wing term for the eternal enemy. The BBC prefers to use more precise terms such as Egyptian nationalists, Al-Queda, Iranian revolutionaries, Palestinians, IRA etc. Who these people actually are. In fact a lot of top news oragnisations and newspapers over here in the U.K. don't use the word 'terrorist' its considered an excuse or moral permit for state sponsored violence.

- Wardvark, on 02/03/2008, -0/+1When a Canadian broadcaster buys the rights to a show, they get the broadcasting rights in whatever territory they are in. So in this case, whichever company has the distribution rights to John Stewart is the sole distributor in Canada, and it is Comedy Central's job to honour their contract and not distribute the show in a place they sold their right to.

It's obvious they're just trying to show off the technology they have with little regard on how or why they are using it at all.
In the two minutes I watched of their attempt to demonstrate this thing, the person controlling it couldn't get it to respond correctly to a simple touch, and had to touch it about 10 times before it changed. Then they used it to show photo and resize them with multi-touch gestures, but only made them 5% bigger than they already were, leaving them still far to small to actually see.- blckt, on 02/03/2008, -0/+7Anderson Cooper's 3D pie chart during the NH primaries was the biggest display of CNN's horrid use of advanced technology, that made it on the daily show a few weeks ago too
