I've seen stories on CNN.com where a small picture accompanying an article about the Bush administration is some off-the-wall image such as someone wearing a Bush mask with a Pinocchio nose. It's probably some inside joke among the CNN staff having some fun.

The BBC prefers to use more precise terms such as Egyptian nationalists, Al-Queda, Iranian revolutionaries, Palestinians, IRA etc. Who these people actually are. In fact a lot of top news oragnisations and newspapers over here in the U.K. don't use the word 'terrorist' its considered an excuse or moral permit for state sponsored violence.

So in this case, whichever company has the distribution rights to John Stewart is the sole distributor in Canada, and it is Comedy Central's job to honour their contract and not distribute the show in a place they sold their right to.

  • PiGuy, on 02/03/2008, -0/+9The funniest thing in the situation room is their multi-touch display, which while very cool, doesn't work well and provides no useful purpose. It's obvious they're just trying to show off the technology they have with little regard on how or why they are using it at all.

    In the two minutes I watched of their attempt to demonstrate this thing, the person controlling it couldn't get it to respond correctly to a simple touch, and had to touch it about 10 times before it changed. Then they used it to show photo and resize them with multi-touch gestures, but only made them 5% bigger than they already were, leaving them still far to small to actually see.

        What's worse is that they don't actually display a page to that effect. They just don't play the video. So it just looks like the site is broken.
