Join (the real) Alan Keyes at MySpace
profile.myspace.com — Hi and welcome. Many friends and well wishers have recommended that I join the MySpace community. I have finally found a little respite in which to do so. Over time I'll be selecting materials of various kinds to share here, as well as leaving occasional comments on this blog. Thanks for visiting. ~~ Alan

Concerning original post
"He created his profile himself and is inviting friends to join him"
He is an excellent advocate for many conservative issues but not all.
A "friend" responds to "friends." Alan does not do that. He does not do it at his own website and I know he will not do it at My Space. - savvyconsumer7, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2Re: elitism
Hi Kent,
... sure, Alan Keyes is gifted (brilliant, by many accounts) ... but should we not celebrate and utilize those gifts God has granted the body of believers, rather than revile?
My observation is that Alan Keyes sees his oratory skills as a tool, and himself as a bond servant of the Most High God. He has a deep sense of duty .... making responsible use of his time and resources ... and is committed to the furtherence of God's kingdom, and this republic.
1 Corinthians 12 (NKJV)
Unity and Diversity in One Body
12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.
13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.
14 For in fact the body is not one member but many.
15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body?
16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling?
18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.
19 And if they were all one member, where would the body be?
20 But now indeed there are many members, yet one body.
21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.”
22 No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.
23 And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty,
24 but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it,
25 that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.
26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it ... - Kent4jmj, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1He was rejected by Republican Party then the Constitution Party who chose Chuck Baldwin to be its presidential candidate. He has his gifts in certain areas its just not as a presidential candidate.
I did not elaborate on his being rejected by Constitution Party but that alone speaks volumes!
As for his elitism I speak from personal experience. - savvyconsumer7, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2Oligarchy (rule by the few) is what Alan Keyes is fighting against.
Government of, by and for the people is what Alan Keyes is fighting for. Alan Keyes sees the president as the servant of THE Sovereign People.
For a speech, March 3, 2008 in Denton, TX:
" ... I, sadly, have to begin this evening by saying something that I know might not sit well with folks, but which I think is true. Our republic is dead. The government of, by and for the people that was founded in this country’s beginning on the premise that we are all created equal and endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights, that resulted in a frame of government based on representation and that produced, over the course of its history, steady progress toward the realization of the participation of the whole people in the decisions that would guide and shape the destiny of the country. I believe that that republic has already passed away. 02:26
Now, why is it then, that I continue to participate in elections, talk to people, encourage folks to go and vote, and so forth? Well, I think the main reason that I do so is because I am a Christian. And we Christians believe in resurrection. (Amen … applause) It has already been defeated, the republic may be dead, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be brought back to life, by the grace of God. (applause) And I believe that the grace of God for our country is the spirit and the courage and the faith of those people who refuse to let go of the simple premise on which this nation was founded, the premise that our rights come not from our rulers choice, not from our mother’s choice, not from our president’s choice, not from our judge’s choice, but from the choice of Almighty God, (applause) the same God who made the universe. (applause) And if God is indeed the premise of our liberty, then those who have faced Him, God, are the key to the restoration of that premise, as secure foundation of this nation’s life, on which we can restore the government of, by and for the people, that I believe has been laid low. 03:40
And I say that with even more conviction as I have passed through the course of the last few months of this election cycle, than ever before, because it has been a cycle that has presented to me a spectacle that I had hoped to never see in America, but which sadly, we are seeing and which I think completes a picture that has been increasingly ominous over the course of the last several decades. And it is the picture of a people who, though they were once the sovereign people of the United States, now are increasingly simply the manipulated people, who are used to ratify judgments, and decisions and directions that no longer reflect their will, their principles, their heart, their interest, and certainly no longer reflect their sovereignty as a people. 04:30
We are confronted with several issues these days, that have touched home, that have been on the hearts of many people around the country, that symbolize the destruction of our sovereignty. The most obvious and import one, is the abandonment of our borders as a country ... " - Kent4jmj, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1Of by and for may be what he says he is fighting for but there is something about him that does not elicit support. I still think it has to do with some form of elitism as well as his non constitutional foreign policy of interventionism. He does not sit well with neo-cons, which is good but neither does he resonate with paleo-cons who are strict constitutionalists, libertarian in nature and frequently of the Austrian school of economics.
- savvyconsumer7, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1He's a Reagan-Conservative (rare these days) ... he's running as an Independent Candidate, in 2008.
To me, deal-breaking issues are:
Pro-Life
Pro-Israel (see Gen. 12:3)
I also want a president who is strong on national defense. The world is a dangerous place .... we need a president who will staunchly defend our interests abroad.
Alan Keyes is exemplary on all these issues, and more. He is God fearing, and has the education and foreign affairs experience to serve as president.
None of the other candidates meet my criterion ... so they don't get my vote. - Kent4jmj, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Reagan was conservative in pretty much name only. Did he abolish the DOE like he said he would? Did he Reduce spending? NO and NO!!!!!
The world is dangerous? Yes it is That is why a Non-Interventionist foreign policy is Critical!
Pro Life Yes
Pro Israel? If you mean continue millions of dollars welfare program then NO! If you mean trade and friendship OK. - Kent4jmj, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1If we bring our troops HOME from around the world, 130 countries, 700 bases, we consolidate, strengthen and unify our forces to our best advantage. Then we can use them as stipulated in the Constitution and western society's Just War Policy. If some one wants to be stupid enough to attack us we kick their ass but no preemptive strikes, no entangling alliances, no policing the world and no nation building.
