- jftous13, on 03/07/2008, -0/+13You are so very right on this issue --keep up your great work in the Senate! YOU are appreciated for your strong pro - American stances. This Alaskan thanks you in OK.
- cornwarrior, on 03/07/2008, -0/+15Dugg for truth. If I were to immigrate to France, I would be expected to learn French, and rightly so. It would sorely piss off the French(well more so than they already are) if I just outright refused to learn their language. That's disrespectful. Well, the same should be the case here in the United States. We've always been a primarily English Speaking country, and if immigrants want to succeed here, and not piss the populous off, they need to learn English. I'm not saying they can't still speak their native language, but they to learn English.
- Indyanna, on 03/08/2008, -1/+5Just to emphasize what cornwarrior said: "If I were to immigrate to France, I would be expected to learn French, and rightly so."
My family and I have lived in Hungary for years. Take it from me, there is zero effort on the part of Hungarian authorities to translate anything from Hungarian into any other language - English included. For example, if you plan on staying in this country, you need to apply for a staying permit, and if you don't know enough Hungarian to fill out the forms, answer the questions, etc. there is no assistance or help. You are on your own.

- bordergranny, on 03/08/2008, -0/+13Thank you for doing what our Arizona representatives refuse to do. GO JIM!!!
- Antarcticn, on 03/09/2008, -0/+2Arizona has represenatives??? Really?
I thought Mexizona has reprehensivos and 2 señatores. Near as I can tell, championing Mexizona's INVASION and HOSTILE OCCUPATION are the dishonorable reprehensivo jeffe flako, fair-haired, white-toothed pretty boy, señator jon kyl (sometimes an Arizonan, sometimes a mexizonan), and of course your state's most infamous criminal overshadowing even Tombstone and the shootout at the OK Corral -- career TRAITOR & LIAR, señatorre juan mccaiñez; which believes it should have been el presidente since 2000, so surely the presidency is owed to it now.

- victorypup, on 03/08/2008, -0/+10Long, long overdue.
- BECoole, on 03/08/2008, -0/+6The CRA '64 needs to be repealed.
It is the reason that Gov't documents are required to be printed in every known language and interpreters must be provided by the state. The cost savings alone would be worth it. - seek4truth, on 03/08/2008, -0/+6I definitely agree. You come to America you abide by our laws. In fact I would like to see Americans with backbones like the Australians. See article below... +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ From the News Archives of: WWW.AfricanCrisis.Org Date & Time Posted: 6/23/2006 Australia tells Muslims: Adapt or get out [Its great seeing the Dutch and the Australians starting to take a hard line against immigrants, especially Muslims. These Muslims are starting to anger people who can truly hurt them. This originates from a Yahoo list which an American friend of mine belongs to. Jan] Subject: FW: Australia says "Adapt or Leave" to Muslims Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia and her Queen at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his Ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown. Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state, and its laws were made by parliament. "If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you," he said on national television. "I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia: one the Australian law and another the Islamic law, that is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it, perhaps, then, that's a better option," Costello said. Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "clear off. Basically, people who don't want to be Australians, and who don't want to live by Australian values and understand them, well then, they can basically clear off," he said. Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: "IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians." "However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the 'politically correct' crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia." "However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand." "This idea of Australia being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle." "This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom" "We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, Learn the language!" "Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture." "We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us." "If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like "A Fair Go", then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. By all means, keep your culture, but do not force it on others. "This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'." "If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted." Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, American citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voting the same truths!!
- Antarcticn, on 03/09/2008, -0/+1Read this a couple month ago. It's great the Aussies laid down the law, and good law at that. The bad thing is that Aussie PM John Howard was voted out of office quickly thereafter and replaced by a "progressive". The USA must deliver the same non politically correct message to its INVADERS that refuse to acculturate & assimilate. Our way or the highway, amigos. Go back to wonderful sunny meh-hee-ko if you refuse to become a REAL American.
- TheControversy, on 03/10/2008, -0/+1When i went to Wagga Wagga they were talking about this. I loved how they responded. i wish people would see that that is the right way to respond.
- JSMcK, on 03/08/2008, -0/+5I applaud you for trying to make English the official language of the USA. It is in the interest of all future citizens to have one language and demand that the language be learned before immigration into the USA is allowed. The push is for diversity and I believe in diversity of ideas, but strongly believe in a united citizenry in order for any nation to survive. The Middle East is an example of diversity at its worst. We must protect the borders and deport ALL illegal immigrants from the USA in order to get control of our precious nation. Enforce the laws of the land equally be it citizen or illegal immigrant. I heard the head of Homeland Security make a rather, what I thought was, dumb comment when he said his department would be looking for a pea picker or some discription because the immigration bill was not passed instead of a terrorist-I really don't think Homeland Security personnel knows the difference when they don't even know who is here?

Whaaa-whaaaa-whaaaa! *gnashing of teeth* B-b-b-b-b-but making English the national language is both racist and ruins the multi-cultural melting pit, uh, I mean POT, that we democrats have depended on to divide the nation! It's unfair! What about the children? What about the wonderful hybrid and unique American languages, Ebonics and Spanglish? Oh! Woe-is-me! I-if-if-if we make English the national language, we'll have a shortage of 'glue' in the form of a common language to bond this nation together! ATTICA! ATTICA! ATTICA! ATTICA! -That's what Pelosi, the democrats, the ACLU and other America haters will cry! /roll eyes
Inhofe for president! - lilelm, on 03/09/2008, -0/+4 Thank you for standing up for us -- the forgotten Amereican CITIZENS. Our senators and reps for the most part do not pay attention to us. So it is indeed refresing to see a Senstor with backbone who will stand up for this country.
- Antarcticn, on 03/09/2008, -0/+4Jim Inhofe and Tom Coburn make Oklahoma the State with probably the two most pro-USA senators in the federal-mafia syndicate. (But never forget that in the land of the blind, the one-eyed jack is king.) Inhofe also opposes and spoke out strongly against LOST - the TREASONOUS "Law" of the Sea Treaty which surrenders US naval autonomy to a despotically corrupt United Nations subsidiary named, "the Authority" for Int'l Seabed Authority; already racked with scandals, payoffs, corruption, power grabbing, political pandering & posturing for profit, etc., etc. Typical scummy UN crap. I agree with Inhofe on that, too. Keep doing righteous things, Jim.
- tolouse, on 03/10/2008, -0/+3I'm always pleased when those in the national spot light understand the reality of the street. Thanks to Jim Inhofe and all of you who have struggled these many years to set this insanity right.
