Jeffrey Feldman: Did Limbaugh Try To Incite Violence?
huffingtonpost.com — When a prominent radio figure begins systematically calling for his listeners to engage in acts that intended to bring about political violence, citizens - and federal prosecutors - have a responsibility to examine the implications of such a development.

- tcbishop12, on 05/07/2008, -4/+8Federal law (18 USCS § 2101) provides as follows: § 2101. Riots
(a) Whoever travels in interstate or foreign commerce or uses any facility of interstate or foreign commerce, including, but not limited to, the mail, telegraph, telephone, radio, or television, with intent--
(1) to incite a riot; or
(2) to organize, promote, encourage, participate in, or carry on a riot; or
(3) to commit any act of violence in furtherance of a riot; or
(4) to aid or abet any person in inciting or participating in or carrying on a riot or committing any act of violence in furtherance of a riot;
and who either during the course of any such travel or use or thereafter performs or attempts to perform any other overt act for any purpose specified in subparagraph (A), (B), (C), or (D) of this paragraph--
Shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.- kdawg1012, on 05/07/2008, -2/+4I like the five years in prison ... that way he'd stay out of the Democrats business.
- tcbishop12, on 05/07/2008, -1/+3What I find amazing, Kevin, my friend, is the Rush supporters who dig down the plain recital of the law (which itself has no spin).

- jeffday, on 05/07/2008, -6/+5lol...incite a riot.....that is laughable. Is that the best reason you have for taking away free speech? WOW...
- Brian47126, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3I was not aware that Neocons supported free speech...
- jeffday, on 05/10/2008, -0/+0it is funny isn't it? Quite a change of positions. Usually the conservative folks are usually in the position of "killing free speech". It seems odd that in this particular case LIBERALS are trying to do it....but they have been trying to shut up conservative talk radio for years....it won't happen.

- milobennett, on 05/07/2008, -1/+4I bet Hillary disagrees. She is lovin' every vote she gets. I am sure that there are those who are of the opinion that campaigning for Hillary probably should be a criminal act punishable under the afore stated statutes but I don't think it is.
Still we don't need diversity of speech or ideas. We have a news media and the one true way. The sooner we realize that socialism is the only way and ban such counter-revolutionary ideas all together the better. - anshuman, on 05/07/2008, -4/+4not violence , he is creating nuisance , he should be in slammer really.
- jeffday, on 05/07/2008, -7/+3That's the ticket....shut up those you dont agree with by JAILING them......seems like I have heard of this before.....oh yeah COMMUNIST RUSSIA....amazing.
- tcbishop12, on 05/07/2008, -2/+2It's a lot like paying taxes, guys. You may pooh-pooh and disagree, but you will do so at your peril: the law is the law. The law exists for the good of the society and for our mutual benefit. This one has been around and ably enforced for 70 years.
- jeffday, on 05/07/2008, -4/+3What I find amazing is the "inciting a riot" claim being made....incredulous claim at best. The law is just fine....it does not apply in this instance.

- NoDrama, on 05/08/2008, -0/+4Interesting premise that tests, or perhaps highlights, the limits of free speech.
It's very telling that Obama is just going on sticking to the high road despite the attacks. It's almost as if he knew people would do this... - NICU, on 05/08/2008, -1/+1What a ridiculous attack on free speech. I don't like Limbaugh or McCain and I still find this article to be way too far out there. Its free speech. The real crime here is the dumbass democrats having a super delegate system in the first place. Limbaugh isn't the culprit he's exploiting an incredibly stupid idea the democrats made.
- Waiting2awake, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1Let me ask you something... Do you notice that certain articles on digg get buried quickly because Digg can/has been gamed. It is horrible to take something like a democratic process and game it. It has reduced Digg, a once great site, into little more than a political site with both sides gaming it to their perceived advantage. The losers are of course Digg, and their non-gaming visitors.
What Limbough suggested, and seems to be true - is exactly like that only with your freaking country!
Those that claim about a liberal bias here or there should understand completely why it is wrong - but they don't because they are not interested in the truth, or solutions, only winning - at whatever cost.
Even at the cost of the country itself.
