Jason Linkins: Hillary Clinton Ad Features Osama Bin Laden:
huffingtonpost.com — "As Talking Points Memo notes, "Dropping a last-minute bomb in order to sow doubts about Obama among the late-breaking undecideds -- and doing it in the guise of an ad only mentioning Hillary -- worked in Ohio and Texas. Camp Hillary is hoping that the tactic will deliver a second time."

- LukasSmith, on 04/22/2008, -13/+2Fear mongering? 911 happened. I think too many hippie liberals are happy to think otherwise or believe 911 shouldn't matter and we should go all ghandi and just join hands and protest peacefully until Osama decides to disband Al Queda. ***** hippies.
- PhilLesh69, on 04/22/2008, -1/+17I know that if you watch a little too much Fox News Channel, you are led to believe that anyone who doesn't fear terrorists is a "***** hippie" who wants to sing coombaya with bearded muslims. I also know that you are so afraid of terrorism that you are willing to sacrifice your freedom for a false sense of security.
*****, you are more likely to win the lottery, or be struck by lighning, or die in a car accident, or a falling brick from a building facade, than you are to be a victim of terrorism. Yet you are willing to go along, to give in to political pressures, and accept diminished rights, restricted movement, taking off your shoes to get on a plane (and soon, to have some $7.35 an hour TSA employee looking at you "naked" through an X-ray scanner).
I'm sorry that your public school education failed you. Those of us who actually cared to learn about American principles see terrorism for what it is, a violent attempt to force change upon a society. When you react with fear and allow laws to be passed, rights to be curtailed and treaties to be circumvented as a result of terrorism, you are handing the terrorists exactly what they wanted in the first place. *****.- hittnrun, on 04/22/2008, -4/+1Typical hippie, "It's not gonna happen to ME" mentality, that is, until something happens and then its GWB's fault for not doing enough. These people will probably never even own a wii. I own a wii. I love my wii. But our asian slaves will never get to play one. Of course now the slave labor is demanding better wages. I suppose you will stand in their way with your big American principles. Where were Americas great principles for the last 330 some years? Unlike the hppies that Obama represents I see reality. And the reality is America never had the moral highground to begin with. Our wealth and power is built on the backs of starving 1 dollar a day slaves all over the world. If anything the reality is that Bush is protecting the American dream. And the American dream is built on slave labor. Hell ask one of those illegal immigrants you love so much why slave wages in America were worth swimming here for.
- PhilLesh69, on 04/22/2008, -0/+10Why do you contradict youself so easily, without even seeing the irony of it?
You accuse people of being hippies, then you accuse those hippies of supporting the system you were just lashing out at them for speaking against.
You should have that looked at. You really don't know what you believe, you just know a bunch of guys yelled really loudly at each other in support of what you believe on Fox News.

- Kautylia, on 04/22/2008, -6/+3This article is stupid. Among a montage of problems currently affecting the United States, they show a picture of Bin Laden for 1/2 a second. Well guess what? Terrorism is one problem facing the US. It shouldn't be considered the #1 problem in the US (a la Guliani), but it is one. People who say the Bin Laden clip is fearmongering are just jumping on any reason to degrade Clinton.

Hate to tell you, but Digg doesn't unban. You really ARE just too stupid to have noticed that someone else has been impersonating me for months now, always coming up with a varation of my name. And he gets banned every time. You will also notice that he never changes his profile. It is always the same. And nothing like mine. - kfed2, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2Can you prove that you were not using those accounts? I have a very important meeting tomorrow and I need to get back to sleeping. Feel free to reply, but I am getting very busy in real life and may not be getting back here for a while. I have a huge real estate deal a small company I am a partner in is about to close on about 1 hour south of Acapulco. I only get about 10% or so of the proceeds, but it is a 7 figure sale and the buyer is another developer, so their development will add quite a bit of value to the surrounding properties, which are ours!!! I happen to be really excited about it - maybe that is why I can't sleep.
I have said this before - when you call someone stupid, you really need to get the spelling and Caps right.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama said on Wednesday the United States must be willing to strike al Qaeda targets inside Pakistan, adopting a tough tone after a chief rival accused him of naivete in foreign policy.
Obama said if elected in November 2008 he would be willing to attack inside Pakistan with or without approval from the Pakistani government, a move that would likely cause anxiety in the already troubled region.- StarlessKnight, on 04/22/2008, -1/+3Remember how we did exactly just that not that long after Obama said he'd be willing to? Are you saying if Osama were standing in the middle of a street, neon signs pointing at him, and the Pakistani government did nothing and, in fact, had been the ones to give him those neon signs (just to kick this extreme example up a notch) that our government would not even consider the possibility of going in there and take him down? Just the mere *possibility*?
- cygnus2112, on 04/22/2008, -1/+1Pointless argument. I quoted an article where it showed Obama making threats and rattling sabres. Yet, Obama fans don't want to acknowledge it.

I am glad to see that we are not kowtowing to pakistan, and are going after al-qaeda.
We were told, after all, that we will seek them out no matter where they are, and smoke them out of their holes.
At least now, in Bush's twilight year of his terms, he's doing what is right, instead of what Cheney and Rumsfeld told him to do.
Bush might just change my opinion of him, after all. As long as he does what is right, acts on his own judgement instead of what the neocons tell him to do. He can reconcile his first 7 years by doing what HE believes and acknowledging that he was fooled by the neocons in his first 6 years.
This is his chance at reconcilliation with the American people. - bingobongony, on 04/23/2008, -3/+1So, Phil...where is your admission of stupidity? I don't see an Obama 15% win in Pennsylvania.

- PhilLesh69, on 04/22/2008, -1/+4Not only that, but she's running on the platform that because she is part of the system that has created all of those messes (two wars, gas prices skyrocketing, an economy in crisis) she is best qualified to "fix" them.
However, intelligent people see through that and understand that she wants to be in power to take advantage of all of those problems.

Hello to a socialist unitary executive and a collective peoples working as the village to raise the children. - LukasSmith, on 04/22/2008, -7/+1Obama doesn't see reality like most hippies. - PhilLesh69, on 04/22/2008, -1/+4Oh *****, lukas smith, I really feel sorry for you. Not everyone that doesn't buy into your fear and destruction view of the world is a hippie. Some of us are just a little bit smarter than you. Some of us understand what makes America strong, and it is not caving in whenever a nutcase succeeds in blowing up a building or putting a video on the internet with empty threats. Some of us understand that no matter how many pissed off nutjob fanatics try to "destroy america" because they "hate us for our freedoms", we'll still be here, and so long as we don't change all of our laws and piss off all of our allies and the rest of the world, America will stand strong, and not piss its collective pants every time a brown person threatens us.
Dude, stand up, be a man. Don't be afraid. We are Americans. Not hippies, not liberals, just Americans who didn't ***** our pants on 9/11.
You are a coward hiding behind a war-mongering ideology in order to convince yourself that it is really those hippies and liberals who are the problem, so that you don't feel so afraid about those brown people.
You should take an IQ test online. See which end of the bell curve you sit on. I'm guessing you fall somewhere in the middle or towards the left side. - LukasSmith, on 04/22/2008, -6/+1You are hippies and liberal douchbags. Whats sad is American hippies are living in a fantasy where the American dream isn't built on the backs of dollar a day slave labor in Asia. I suppose if you were a hippie and you knew that you wouldnt be so willing to buy anything or pretend you are somehow morally superior. I mean there are people eating mud soup in Africa and you hippies are complaining about a war that your fearful democrat leaders signed up for initally but are recieving very little flak for now. THank you liberal media. Your IQ and convictions only convince me you are an idiot who lives in fantasy land like Obama. speaking of OBama I have more to say. Read below.

Lukas Smith and Bingobongobong are shills, and they are not particularly good ones, at that.
I helped set up UPI's newswire feed to General Dynamics at MacDill AFB (Centcom Headquarters), so I know what caliber of people we are dealing with in this "war against the blogosphere" commissioned by the Pentagon in a no-bid contract.- bingobongony, on 04/23/2008, -4/+1So, Phil...where is your admission of stupidity? My guess was wrong. That doesn't make me stupid.
Though, you are looking more and more stupid every time you post this stupid childlike taunt. - bingobongony, on 04/23/2008, -2/+1No...it DOEs make you stupid. Becuase you weren't making a "guess". You were making a guarantee. And do yo not see the importanace in that? If you could be SO far off in something that you claimed to be so sure of...then why the ***** should anyone take ANYTHING your say regarding politics seriously ever again? You prove to the world that you know absolutely nothing about politics. Even a 5 year old knew that Obama had ZERO chance today.
- LukasSmith, on 04/22/2008, -4/+2I also want you to read Obamas own words on the subject of Bush's guilt. Notice he doesnt use the words criminal or warlord or even that Bush is guilty of anything at this point. Or that proof exists of his guilt. In fact he sounds far more intelligent then the digg.com Obama fanatics who post crap day and night. If Obama doesnt think Bush is guilty right now why do you?
"What I would want to do is to have my Justice Department and my Attorney General immediately review the information that's already there and to find out are there inquiries that need to be pursued. I can't prejudge that because we don't have access to all the material right now. I think that you are right, if crimes have been committed, they should be investigated. You're also right that I would not want my first term consumed by what was perceived on the part of Republicans as a partisan witch hunt because I think we've got too many problems we've got to solve. So this is an area where I would want to exercise judgment -- I would want to find out directly from my Attorney General -- having pursued, having looked at what's out there right now -- are there possibilities of genuine crimes as opposed to really bad policies. And I think it's important-- one of the things we've got to figure out in our political culture generally is distinguishing betyween really dumb policies and policies that rise to the level of criminal activity. You know, I often get questions about impeachment at town hall meetings and I've said that is not something I think would be fruitful to pursue because I think that impeachment is something that should be reserved for exceptional circumstances. Now, if I found out that there were high officials who knowingly, consciously broke existing laws, engaged in coverups of those crimes with knowledge forefront, then I think a basic principle of our Constitution is nobody above the law -- and I think that's roughly how I would look at it." - UtopiaInTheSky, on 04/22/2008, -0/+4That video makes me laugh everytime. Seriously, could it get any better? It's like they made that video for the sole purpose of biting themselves in the ass.
- PhilLesh69, on 04/22/2008, -0/+2Just goes to show you. Both Clintons will use any argument, pander to any emotion and claim to be with any group at whatever moment that it might benefit them, then they will be against those very same things the moment it might benefit them.
Hypocrites are even having a hard time with those statements.- Seldon2639, on 04/22/2008, -3/+1So, I suppose your claim is that Obama would never do the same? How about:
To San Francisco donators:
“It's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations,"
To Pennsylvania Voters:
"contrary to what my poor word choices may have implied or my opponents may have suggested, I’ve never believed that these traditions or peoples' faith has anything to do with how much money they have."
One of these things isn't like the other, one of these things isn't the same.
Obama constantly (paraphrased):
"We need hope, we need to believe, we don't need plans, we need abstract ideals. It's not all about hard substance. Words are enough. Ideas are enough"
Obama after ABC Debate:
"We can't focus on abstract ideas, we need to focus on hard substance"
You can't run a campaign based on nebulous concepts (like hope, change, ect) and then complain when you're taken over the barrel about nebulous concepts (like patriotism, elitism, ect). Otherwise you really do sound like a hypocritical jerk. Either symbols matter (and they do), in which case Obama's symbols of hope, change, all of that, are applicable (which also makes criticism about symbols (like the flag pin, like Rev. Wright, like Michelle's lack of pride in being American until her husband ran for President). Or, none of it is, which makes Obama's campaign an exercise in pandering to begin with.
It's all pandering, all politics. It's all populism. The fact that you agree with Obama's populism is no indication that his populism is inherently better.- MacEnvy, on 04/22/2008, -0/+2I don't think you understood what those quotes meant. Perhaps you should read them in context, and you'll realize that they actually go against what you assume they mean.
The best thing about Obama is that 5-second clips of him speaking don't tell the whole story. You have to listen, to understand, to be able to string together multiple sentences to get the full meaning of what he's saying. That's also the worst thing about him, because this country is full of idiots who are unable to string multiple sentences together into one coherent thought, or understand the nuanced approach that is necessary in a good leader.
Guess which group you're in, Seldon.
- MacEnvy, on 04/22/2008, -0/+2I don't think you understood what those quotes meant. Perhaps you should read them in context, and you'll realize that they actually go against what you assume they mean.

- N3tw0rk, on 04/22/2008, -2/+40If one candidate is trying to scare you, and the other one is trying to get you to think, If one candidate is appealing to your fears, while the other candidate is appealing to your hopes, then you better vote for the person who wants you to think and hope.
- PhilLesh69, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1You gotta give Bill Clinton credit. He's always been a very charismatic and convincing public speaker :)
- Reaper2806, on 04/22/2008, -0/+3I'm on one hand thinking, "This is so disgusting, this can't possibly fool the voters." And on the other "Oh god, please don't let this work again..."
- Seldon2639, on 04/22/2008, -1/+0That's a false dichotomy. It's not one candidate appealing to hope and thought, and one appealing to fear and, by your assumptions, more fear. It's one candidate appealing to hope and warm fuzzy feelings, and one appealing to cynicism and realism. I'm not going to claim that one form of populism is better, but neither candidate asks us to "think". Obama doesn't, his speeches are all about modes of non-thinking: hope, change, "yes we can". The buzzwords aren't used to evoke thoughtful deliberation, they're used to evoke an emotional response. The same is true of much of Clinton's campaign, it's based on emotion (a different set of emotions, I'll admit).
- incredibilistic, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1I "think" Seldon2639" needs a hug. There, you just got some emotion and I thought about it before I did it. See, it works!
The bad part is that this crap actually works on those that ARE NOT thinking and are simply voting out of pure fear. - letherial, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1IM thinking here, im thinking...bush, clinton, bush...wait, so the last 20 years have been off these same family lines and we are here now? its not like either one of they dynasty familys can claim sucess at this point and time. this is a bad pattern and it needs to be broken. Now ill tell you, every candiate has there "buzz words" and there way to manipulate voters, this is our political system, however, at least obama is showing a differnt direction then others have taken it. Sure this could all be a face, you take that chance with everyone but when looking in the context I see that clinton has more of a chance of being your typical fake politcion then obama does, obama speaks the truth even if we dont like it...i admire that in a person.
i will be the first to admit that he may get the office and destroy the country, but at least its another name doing it.

imagine a big island volcano with the face of Hillary - MindyB, on 04/22/2008, -3/+9Hillary Clinton has stooped so low that she has begun to turn droves of supporters off! She doesn't realize the damage she is causing, which is the saddest part, it shows how clearly out of touch with the American voter she really is. The is only focused on what she wants--to win--and does not care how she is hurting the Democratic party, the American people and the most likely Democratic Nominee. She makes me vomit! I will NEVER vote for someone so dirty as she has become.

Too bad only northeast liberals in New York, Philadelphia and DC are as out of touch as she is. And Hillary has been running here in NYS for the last 8 years, so she kind of had a head start and pre-built support network. An Philadelphia is expected to vote overwhelmingly for Obama.
I agree with your basic point, but your examples are downright horrible.- PhilLesh69, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2No they aren't. You misunderstand what northeast elite liberals are. They are not the electorate, they are elites, the people who think they rule over the electorate. Bankers, Journalists, Think Tanks and Politicians. Now let's get to the important issues like how do you intend to deal with Mussolini, or Stalin? Or Lex Luthor for that matter?- bingobongony, on 04/22/2008, -8/+1sources?
The best part is, when you want to bash Bush, you will be the first one to say how Bin Laden is still at large.
You are nothing but a little bitch. A bitch that everyone laughs at. And not JUST when they see you naked.- PhilLesh69, on 04/22/2008, -0/+3Now I'm starting to think that you are a general dynamics employee based at MacDill.
I don't think GhostyBoy said that bin laden was still at large because he wants to bash bush. Those are your words, but obviously you've been trolling digg long enough to generalize any of your "targets".
Besides, "sources?" is a really ignorant rebuttal. If you can post a comment on digg, you can google any source your heart desires. Asking someone to cite sources is merely a stupid attempt at convincing yourself and your other parrotheads that the person is not speaking from some form of informed position.
If you can't find the source yourself, you are too dumb to understand any of the sources he might cite.
You do know that we are using these series of tubes here, right? You can use those series of tubes to find those sources, or to find a source that will insubstantiate his claims. Either you are dumb, lazy or overburdened by your job at MacDill, maybe they've given you too many blogs and comments to defend the neocon/pentagon story against. Ask your General Dynamics supervisor to lighten up on you. OR, use the UPI newsfeed I set up for you, to get more information. We were feeding you the Washington Times and UPI articles, last time I checked. Those generally support your employer's agenda. Use the feed, man. - 47f0, on 04/22/2008, -0/+5What's the matter, little bingobunghole - won't anybody play your silly troll-games with you?

Aired on 2nd November 2007,David Frost the presenter did not challenge her on her assertion (2:14) that Bin Laden was murdered, so maybe he was and the West has not announced it. Clinton is spinning the fear mongering that the Bush Administration has for the last 7 years. Funny, how just today there is a new tape of Osama Bin Laden. If you notice, any time the administration needs to create fear among Americans is to release the tape of Osama - always a tape and not a video.

- PhilLesh69, on 04/22/2008, -0/+3They will. Don't worry.
I lived in PA for a couple years when my father was a commander of an Army Depot. Pennsylvanians are the entire cross-section of America. Bankers, Businessmen, Farmers, Hunters, Factory workers (what's left of them after Bill's NAFTA signing), middle class, blue collar, white collar, religious, not-so religious, anti-religious, pro choice, pro life, pro gun, anti gun. PA has it all. And they aren't as dumb as some of the souther and mid western folks who rally behind whomever happens to be waving the flag this week.
Even with the wishfull polling showing her with whatever sort of lead, be it a 20% lead, or only a 5% lead, Obama is going to carry Pennsylvania with a wide margin. Don't forget, like they always tell us when a candidate wins even though the polls said she wouldn't, "polls are an inexact science".
Obama will crush her by at least a 15% margin. That's my guess.- bingobongony, on 04/22/2008, -5/+1OK...when the results come back tomorrow, PLEASE know that I will be following you around until you publicly adm9it how ***** stupid you were when you posted this.

But again..I will bookmark this post, as well as your comment history. And every single post you post from now on, I will be on you like white on rice until you publicly accept your humiliation like a man. Of course, you won't. Dude, I know about General Dynamics and their contract at Centcom, on MacDill AFB. I helped set up your newsfeed from UPI.
Be on me like "white on rice". You can even be in my back pocket, if you like. You can dream up any other amazingly idiotic cliche term as your sad intellect allows. I'll be right there with you, dude.
I'm glad you will remember. I hope you remember. Though I doubt you have the capacity to remember. All of your comments thus far have proven you are a parrot of the neocon agenda, and cannot think for yourself. All you can do is make angry comments and threats.
I apologize to you if my tax dollars failed to give you a good enough public education. The kitchen jibe is cheesy at best, hypocritical at least; and you could place John McCain's mug at the end of the thing and we'd all be none the wiser. The whole thing has the illegitimate tone of one of those generic cut & paste "Have you been injured?" attorney commercials, and nearly all of the same disgust.

- PhilLesh69, on 04/22/2008, -0/+4Considering that she can't even figure out that what Obama said about "bitter" people, how she and the media couldn't understand that the people he was talking about actually stood up and said "Hell yeah I'm bitter!" when they heard him say that, considering she is a liberal intellectual elitist with no clue about what people making less than $50,000 a year think and feel, I don't think she'll learn, no matter how hard the hard way is.
She will be running around Washington DC on the day of Obama's or McCain's inauguration screaming about how the American people just don't know how wrong they were, how she is the right person to help them, how stupid those ungrateful americans are for not voting for her.
And she'll spend the next 4 or 8 years on talk shows, cable news channels and newspaper interviews trashing the American people and whoever becomes our president.
She'll slash and burn our nation before she accepts that the people just didn't want her to lead them. - bingobongony, on 04/22/2008, -9/+1You are a ***** idiot. If Guiliani hadn't waited WAYYYY too long to care about hte race, he would have won easily. It had nothing to do with his campaign ads. It was his dumb strategy of putting all his eggs in a Super Tuesday basket, thus letting other build up momentum that he was never able to overcome.

Giuliani's campaign failed as a direct result of his running solely and entirely on the platform of being the "9/11 mayor". There were skits and comedy sketches that ridiculed his sole reliance on 9/11 as his campaign policy.
There were caricatures of Rudolph speeches, "I would be the best, 9/11, president, because, 9/11, I will protect the, 9/11, people from the terrorists, 9/11, and I will stop at nothing, 9/11, in order to, 9/11, make this the greatest, 9/11, nation, 9/11, on, 9/11, earth".
Jon Stewart even gave his condition a psychological diagnosis: 9/11 tourettes.- bingobongony, on 04/22/2008, -5/+1No..you are the ***** idiot. If Guiliani had campaigned in New Hampshire, McCain would never have gained the momentum, and Guiliani would have taken Florida and the major Super Tuesday states.
Remember...I will be following you around after Hillary wins PA tomorrow. So you better have some class and integrity and admit how ***** stupid you wre for sayingthat Obama was going to win by 15%. You will NOT be able to slink into the darkness like you always do in life.
(Honestly...you saying that Obama was wrong when he admitted that he was definitely going to lose and then saying that I sound stupid is a classic. I am glad that my employers, media executives and publishers, don't think like the dimwitted loser from the bayou or appalachia that you are.
You have no basic understanding of politics, yet you are attempting to judge mine. You probably have no college education, or at best some backwater community college credits. You may have served in an armed service, but most likely received a less than honorable discharge.
Sorry, dude. I've had lunch with William Westmoreland, in PA, before he died. I've been to West Point class reunions with my father where I've talked to Barry McCaffrey. My mother volunteered for Laura Bush in the First Lady's Correspondence Office. My father is friends with Tom Davis. I live about a block from Senator John Sununu.

Obama should just run this unedited as a campaign ad. That would certainly have destroyed Hillary in every and all respects. She would be lucky to get 15% of the vote if they could have pulled that off.

I'm tired of Obama buying this election. He has been airing two ads per commercial break the past couple days while Hilary aired one per hour. I've had to mute the TV every time his commercials came on because it has started feeling like harassment. I don't know why he feels he can spend tons of money on ads to buy my vote but it's been back firing, harassing me will not get my vote. Is it possible to sue for harassment over the TV? I hope he loses because this short time has been enough for me. I want him to leave my state tonight and never come back. I can't take another month of his harassment.
