- jerrym123, on 05/06/2008, -3/+1The video appears to be of vote protection volunteers, NOT unlawful campaign activity! Meaning the Obama campaign knows that Clinton operatives are entrenched in the primary as polling place volunteers as Clinton represents the status quo and the good old boys network of the Democratic party. The Obama campaign also knows for a fact that Clinton backers are behind some recent vote suppression efforts. Those Obama volunteers are there to talk to anyone who is turned away from the polls or who has been told that they are not eligible to vote. "Problems voting? Talk to me" is not the same as "Cannot decide who to vote for? Talk to me" But I would not expect a Clinton supporter video taping this to be intelligent enough to understand the difference.
- bayareavoter, on 05/06/2008, -1/+2Typical Obama tactics. Masquerade as the good guys while you subvert the system. WHAT new politics? I'd call this Chicago-style politics; the kind he's practiced for many years.
- CytoEric, on 05/06/2008, -1/+2The problem isn't them being there, it is the "Obama for America" at the bottom of the sign. From what I understand, many states have laws forbidding things like that at or too near polling places...I'm not surprised an Obama supporter doesn't see it as a problem. If it'd been "Clinton for America" at the bottom, we'd never hear the end of it...
- unlawflcombatnt, on 05/11/2008, -0/+1It would be 100% illegal in the state of California. You're not even allowed to wear a candidate pin when you enter the voting place, much less park your fanny in a chair with a sign saying "Obama for America." That should be investigated and publicized.
I guess this is Obama's version of the "new" politics -- just ignoring all campaign laws since he's above them.
