Huckabee: Supportive Bloggers Are ‘Doing The Lord's Work'
thinkprogress.org — Calling them his “secret weapon,” former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee urged bloggers to “clog” up the wireless system in Des Moines so that reporters couldn’t file any more “bad” stories about him. He added that by blocking the free press from doing their jobs, bloggers were “doing the Lord’s work."

- Rotzooi, on 01/03/2008, -1/+27There's a president in office who never had anything but his back turned to the sick and dying (in all states, even) and who also claims to be placed in that position by the lord himself.
And yet a lot of people voted for him twice. - darkciti2, on 01/03/2008, -2/+25Shocker! A Republican that urges people to lie, and cheat so he can steal?!?
- ldailey06, on 01/03/2008, -2/+6I hope Huckabee wins the nomination, he'll get eaten alive in the general election
- WestDC, on 01/03/2008, -0/+15If it's "The Lord's work", why the hell doesn't he do it himself?
Lazy omnipotent bastard.- Ndiggnation, on 01/03/2008, -0/+4That's the same reason why I often wonder that if _insert your deity here_ is so powerful, why does he need you to defend his honor or name when someone "blasphemes" him/her/his noodliness, by blowing up the unbelievers/infidels?
- themastersb, on 01/03/2008, -0/+1Reasons why Huckabee shouldn't be president:... Hmm.... now I see why people choose to list reasons why he should first. It's only 1/1000th the size.

- KDAY12, on 01/03/2008, -1/+3Choosing not to do something doesn't imply being incapable of doing it. If you understood Christian theology, you would know that it was his purpose to die on the cross, making his choice to not remove himself simple.

- darkciti2, on 01/04/2008, -1/+1If he "chose" to do it, why does the Bible suggest that he was murdered or cruicified? Furthermore, why does he proclaim that he "died for our sins" when he put himself up to it? I don't need any favors from a dilusional person.

Oh, especially dog-catcher. Don't want tweedle-dee and tweedle-dum anywhere near man's best friend.
- txchica, on 01/04/2008, -1/+1No, we Huckabee supporters don't usually post on this kind of site because of all the vitriol. - MrESaulved, on 01/04/2008, -1/+2Vitriol against Huckabee is warranted, the man is a greedy villian, do you deny it? His family consists of psychotic animal abusers, do you deny it?
Who said anything about Ron Paul? I didn't. But I'll say plenty against Huckabee, that sanctimonious walking disaster.- txchica, on 01/06/2008, -1/+1Ummmm, what makes him a greedy villain?
Of course I deny it, and would love to see your facts behind that statement. I also disagree about his family consisting of psychotic animal abusers, why would you hold something his son did against him? Do you completely control your family and their actions? I know I don't.
And you didn't have to say anything about Ron Paul, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to look at the profiles of those posting here and see the common denominator....Ron Paul.
And the only one sounding sanctimonious is you with your holier than thou attitude. Lets see some facts, not opinion disguised as fact. Will you deny that?- MrESaulved, on 01/07/2008, -1/+1"Ummmm, what makes him a greedy villain?" - His accepting gifts in violation of ethics, causing him to get fined. Dad interfered with the investigation, by firing one of the law enforcement officials in charge of the case, so not only is he the father of sadistic psychopaths, he covers up for them. His son had nothing to do with the cover up.
"Lets see some facts, not opinion disguised as fact. Will you deny that?"
You knew all of this already, so your act of disingenuity won't work. Huckabee has too many legitimate reasons not to vote for him, based on the official record. I don't need to make any up.

- SantafromNorth, on 01/03/2008, -0/+1I do not know. I am equally scared of:
1) President Hackabee: Taking back this nation for Christ, pardoning everyone that seems to find Jesus (was he ever lost), selling out to Tyson Farms and everyone else that lines his pockets, and lies about is own past.
-or-
2) President Romney: will be god of his own planet when he dies, was pro-life before he was against it, sells out to big business interests over citizens' interests, and wants to be in Iraq for the long haul.
They are equally disasters waiting to happen.

What would Jesus do? I'm pretty sure he wouldn't vote for "Hick" Huckabee or for that matter Mitt "Magic Underpants" Romney. Wake up people before fascism comes to this country wrapped in a flag & carrying a cross.- mattsw84, on 01/03/2008, -1/+2If he's a hick so is Bill Clinton.

Either way (a terrible sense of humor/decorum or he really is a religious nut), he would be a terrible choice for president.
- Aticper, on 01/03/2008, -0/+3We can't afford to take the risk.
- vilo, on 01/03/2008, -0/+19As a devout Christian, I can say that the "Lord's Work" should be kept to the church, and the "government's work" should be to protect people's life and freedoms to do whatever the heck they want as long as it doesn't interfere with another's freedoms. Forcing belief systems on people is not an elected officials job, nor the government's job. Jesus Christ said this Himself: "Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's." -Mark 12:17. As a Christian, Ron Paul understands this clearer than any mock-Christian politician... George W. Bush and Mike Huckabee included.
- Vector713, on 01/03/2008, -0/+6Thank You.
I only wish more diggers saw the way you do. - dove316, on 01/03/2008, -0/+5Agree totally with vilo. God does not watch over us and say "Boy, I sure hope they vote for so-and-so. I just don't know what I'll do if they don't! Oh, I'm real nervous about this election!!" Get real. God does not need help to do anything in this world. He has it covered just fine. And if any politician tells you they are Gods' choice, avoid them. If they were Gods' choice, there would be no need to communicate it as God would have done so already whether or not we are aware of it.
Government should only be for the protection of Life, Liberty, and Property. Anything they do outside of this they are sure to mess up; They can't even do the one core function defined in the Constitution: Protection of Borders!- Antixian, on 01/03/2008, -2/+3yea you said nice things but you shouldve just posted this.
