I made an off-hand remark that was in no way intended to offend or disparage Sen. Obama. I apologize that my comments were offensive, that was never my intention.”

- dixieedd, on 05/17/2008, -3/+1racist-racist-racist...a word used by fools lacking in eloquence and fundamental vocabulary skills...the most racist people on this planet are the africans...there is no united white college fund...no naawp....no miss white america...no white universities or colleges...no congessional white caucus...africans have had freedom for almost 200 years,with all kinds of various and sundry pieces of legislation passed to help them elevate themselves,and for some reason they still have had very little progress overall..perhaps it is simply because one cannot mover forward when they are constantly looking backwards. i for one am totally sick of the REAL racism that exists in this once great country! i am sure this will prompt some irrational,angry,and belligerent response from one of the guilty parties,but....it takes true character to recognize and admit one's own shortcomings...and most of todays liberals don't even know what CHARACTER means!

All the examples you point to were long dominated and perpetuated by the caucasian favored system of majority rule.
Africans-Americans have had freedom as a constitutional rule for some time, but not in the reality that allowed legal forms of discrimantion such as Jim Crow laws to persist far into the 20th century. One might argue that the need to specifically focus on blacks as needing assistance is less now than it was in the past, but you are also overlooking that much of the legislation that has been adopted also works in favor of other ethnic groups (including caucasians) when such equity is called for.
