Hillary Lie #131: Republicans reponsible for Estate Tax

politifact.com — Clinton’s account, and dig at Republicans, shows selective memory. Estate taxes began under John Adams, a Federalist. Clinton is correct that Teddy Roosevelt (REP) advocated renewing the estate tax. But Roosevelt left office before it became law in 1916 — under President Wilson (DEM). Franklin Roosevelt (DEM), raised rates twice.
