Hillary Clinton BUSTED on tape being very bad!
huffingtonpost.com — At a small closed-door fundraiser after Super Tuesday, Sen. Hillary Clinton blamed what she called the "activist base" of the Democratic Party -- and MoveOn.org in particular -- for many of her electoral defeats, saying activists had "flooded" state caucuses and "intimidated" her supporters, according to an audio recording of the event. - EntropyFan, on 04/19/2008, -12/+6I love the word "Activist". Hitler was an Activist within his party. As was Stalin.
Chairman Mao promoted 'activists', then had them killed and replaced with 'activists'
The Hillery/Obama debate on Digg reminds me of the 80's. Murders that don't support your opinion are 'terrorists'. Murders that support your opinion are 'freedom fighters'.
Well, if Fire Fighters fight fire, and Crime Fighters fight crime, what do Freedom Fighters fight? (thanks Carlin!)
Often, ACTIVISTS push their own agenda, and put down with a smear campaign those that don't agree. Too bad around here it only is a problem when those that support Clinton (almost 50% by the way) do it.
I like Obama (well, I like both Hillery and Obama) but I hate the hypocrites.- theOster, on 04/19/2008, -6/+1activists are typically loose canons for anyone that plays by the rules...sometimes it's very good, sometimes very bad. but in any event, it's an extreme
- bitcloud, on 04/19/2008, -1/+4or ahm.. maybe it's just people who are active... as opposed to appathists...
- ThndrShk2k, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1"activists are typically loose canons for anyone that plays by the rules"
but do they at least get the job done?
/cliche
- dn11, on 04/19/2008, -1/+4The activists she is talking about were only following the rules - and doing it better than the Clinton supporters. Within the last week she somehow accused Obama of blaming voters for his "failures"- but that is exactly what Hillary is doing. Her campaign has been a poorly planned disaster - and her tactics have aliened a lot of people to the extreme - thus the reactions here on digg and elsewhere - that is her fault.
- ch1ck3n3, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1Godwin's law strikes again.

- theOster, on 04/19/2008, -6/+1smeh
- JettaMan, on 04/19/2008, -10/+2A lot of activists are just people who don't work and have too much time on their hands. I don't much like them either. I'd rather see every person at home have an equal say with their vote, rather than this back-room power politics BS.
- scottc, on 04/19/2008, -2/+4You've probably never worked with any of them. It's like my grandfather, a pastor, used to say about his congregation: "if you need something done in the church you ask the busiest person to do it." Most political activists are active in all parts of their life, including work, family, and faith.
- rmccabe916, on 04/19/2008, -9/+1Actually, she just doesn't agree with these activists on foreign policy and national security. That doesn't mean she believes activists are bad for the Democratic party. She is simply noting that this wing of the party is coming out stronger than what she expected--and with their help Obama is kicking her butt.
I actually agree with both on foreign policy issues at different moments. Barack and Hillary would make a great sparing team when the time for a decision comes up during Barack's presidency (hopefully). It would keep him on his feet, like what she is doing right now. They really need to start doing it behind the scenes to get elected first though...
Anyway, obligatory plug:
Obama/Clinton '08! - Risingashes, on 04/19/2008, -2/+7Why would you want Clinton as a running mate? Why would you reward someone who would do all this?
Personally Edwards sounds like a far better choice.- dn11, on 04/19/2008, -1/+4Even Ralph Nader is starting to look like a better choice - even he did less to damage democratic chances for the White House than Hillary now has
- dn11, on 04/19/2008, -1/+9The "crazy activists" at Move On formed specifically to support the Clintons during the Monica scandal - who is the Judas now?

- jforjools, on 04/19/2008, -4/+98As a caucus goer, I've been frustrated by the Clinton 'take' on caucuses (which she's lost, big time.) She admits that the problem with caucuses is NOT that they're undemocratic (if that was true, they'd be supporting the party insider). What she thinks is a problem is what is actually GOOD about caucuses. In caucuses, the grassroots candidate has a chance--and it's not all about just name-recognition.
Caucus states have known this all along.- DuffyDirect, on 04/19/2008, -3/+6i agree with you, but your last point is wrong. caucus states choose to hold caucuses because the democratic party pays for caucuses whereas a state has to pony up the cash to hold a primary election. its about $$$ not idealism.
- darwinwins, on 04/19/2008, -2/+2To be fair, this is a republic and not a democracy, but since the type of republic in which we find ourselves is referred to as a representative democracy, she failed to grasp that caucuses are closet we can get to a direct form of democracy just short of town hall meetings.
- lamiaconfitor, on 04/19/2008, -1/+2Look, yes we are a republic. we know that already. most of us had citizenship classes, or introductory American history, etc... it doesn't mean that it isn't outrageous when someone suggests that the problem with America is 'Democracy' and one certainly shouldn't bite the hand that feeds them. It appears like Hillary has decided that the best way to win the election is to become a republican.

- JumpingJack79, on 04/19/2008, -0/+0Ha ha ha! BTW, Obama is now trying to raise one million in a single minute (through the site anobamaminute.com). Imagine the "scandal" if he succeeds :)
- jforjools, on 04/19/2008, -5/+39"The comments also contradict Clinton's previous statements praising this year's elevated Democratic turnout in primaries and caucuses, and appear to blame her caucus defeats on newly energized grassroots voter groups that she has lauded in the past as "lively participants" in American democracy."
SHAME ON YOU!!- drdarkenyc, on 04/19/2008, -0/+0Well, you know, we Progressive are just "bitter" about the last quarter-century - and rather than turning to guns or bigotry disguised as religion like "decent Ammurikans" do, we go off and do insane things like, you know, vote for candidates that might actually NOT treat us like sheeple...?
- Arishia, on 04/19/2008, -5/+107Lol!!!! MoveOn was originally formed to support Bill Clinton during his impeachment hearings!! She sure didn't object back then. The name meant, so he tapped Monica, we get it, let's MoveOn! to the business of the American people.
- Alegoo92, on 04/19/2008, -22/+3and MoveOn.org may have changed since then. I don't know what it was, but now it exactly fits Hillary's description: and is a ridiculously biased, republican HATING political machine

- queenofbabble, on 04/19/2008, -4/+37Does Hillary think she could ever win another election without activists to help her??
Talk about biting the hand that feeds...she is so dumb...and I remember a time when I thought she was just brilliant. Now? Not so much!- jforjools, on 04/19/2008, -2/+13Yeah, I hope this is the beginning of the end for her Senate seat. Out!!
- 12DHutch, on 04/19/2008, -1/+3Same here as far as what I thought of Hillary. If anyone had told me months ago, that she wouldn't get my vote I'd say they were crazy. Now I no longer see her through rose colored glasses. Unfortunately, many still do. I cleaned mine when she went on Jay Leno--national TV--and made a joke about her sniper lie. That says a lot about a person's character. What kind of message does that send to young people? She Lost me then. I now see her for what she is--a manipulative liar and so much more. I wonder if she was always that way and we just didn't see it or is it that she's just so desperate to get in to the White House that she lost herself.
- TeddySanFran, on 04/19/2008, -7/+13Was this fundraiser in San Francisco?
- bharshav, on 04/19/2008, -3/+35Are we the same "activists" who supported Ned Lamont against Joe Lieberman? No wonder Hillary doesn't like us!
- drdarkenyc, on 04/19/2008, -0/+0Yeah - people who believe in "dangerous" things like civil liberties and checks on Big Corporations...clearly we're a threat to the DLC Way of Life that the Clintons and The Quisling Lieberman take as gospel!
- zeroeffect, on 04/19/2008, -4/+25Now if only MSM would pick up on this one... nail in the coffin! Too bad they are more interested in dragging this out as long as they can.
- motivatedmama, on 04/19/2008, -2/+12Ahhhh My man Olbermann! He gave it a mention tonight to get the ball rolling.
- PopcornDave, on 04/19/2008, -2/+7Of course they are, because it means more ad revenue. That's all that they're really worried about anymore. The last debate was a perfect indication of this when Charlie Gibson had to break for a commercial.
- motivatedmama, on 04/19/2008, -1/+4I've thought about this. Olbermann will never be without fodder, no matter which administration. However, the medias willingness to spin down the percentage needed for Hillary to earn a decisive win in PA, is disturbing.

- tlphelps2000, on 04/19/2008, -4/+39Her comments were offensive to the entire democratic process. Caucuses are "too democratic"??? What a slap in the face for voters of every single caucus state!
I'm disappointed -- but not surprised. - subtlesquire, on 04/19/2008, -4/+43This must be a new "super-secret" campaign strategy. Dis and Piss off a 3 million member base organization. Very crafty of her.

- cobbwobbles, on 04/19/2008, -3/+24If by believing that making insurance companies an integral part of American universal health care just because they gave HRC a hard time in '92 and a ***** of cash in between is a bad idea, I'm an activist, then so be it. Just because I think that she's could at least TRY to wake up and smell the information age and use honesty as the base of her campaign rather than shoddy lies, I'm an activist, then so be it. I used to respect the years of service she gave to the feminists and democrats of this country, but in her old age, she has tried to find the middle ground, not by listening to all involved and using rational logic to find a compromise, but by swinging like a sickening pendulum back and forth between extreme views depending on who she thinks is listening. News Flash Hillary, everyone is always listening, it's called the Internets.
- alyceclover, on 04/19/2008, -2/+11Excellent observation. But I think she has been like this from the start. First she was a Republican, backed Goldwater, who was against Civil Rights Act 1964; then she swung over to the Democrats. She was all for Iraq; now blames other people for her vote. Last August she said she will continue to take lobbyist money; now she is going to fight them on our behalf...
Any number of times she switches her opinion. I also do not know what she has done for the feminism movement. She defended a rapist by painting a 12 year old girl as a vixen who came on to him. She runs to Bill to defend her when "the boys are beating me up" or the press is picking on her. She was a corporate lawyer, not involved in issues relating to helping females; she talks about Bill's ladies equating them to "trailer park trash" and any female that does not vote for her is considered a betrayer, sexist, misogynist.
The point of feminism is females have a brain and do not vote because of gender or "oh, I like her dress".

Title: A bill to provide greater transparency in the legislative process.
Sponsor: Sen Reid, Harry [NV] (introduced 1/4/2007)
Thats the 2007 Government Ethics Bill. LOL. I'm going to stop now, my cheeks hurt from laughing so hard.- br0ck, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1That's not the whole story. "How Obama defied Reid and got real ethics reform passed: It just so happens that Barack Obama played a big role in getting ethics reform done. Not only that, I would like to focus on some key votes which show like night and day, the difference between Obama and Clinton. Obama had to log some courageous votes that amounted to rebellion against the Democratic leadership -- Reid and Durbin -- while Hillary Clinton chose not to rock the boat." Obama serves on the same committee that McCain and Hillary serve on. The Senate Armed Services committee. All presidential wannabes get on there to build up their military cred. Especially ones that have never served. - boombye, on 04/19/2008, -2/+3I didn't say that. br0ck did.

So the only people she cares about are those who agree with her, when she should be willing to do our bidding. (not that "we" can ever agree....) Her caucus complaints annoy; how long has she been in government and never did a darn thing to change something she feels so unfair?

- altgeeky1, on 04/19/2008, -2/+6Scared that we might rebuild America? Wassa matter baby, will that get in the way of your foreign 401K funds?

- boombye, on 04/19/2008, -1/+3what do you mean by "our other choice?"
You're Republican, all you have is McCain. What other choices do you have?

Who needs GWB when you have Hillary? - Vincent21212, on 04/19/2008, -13/+1Obama is the only candidate for this country. But I hope this article isn't supposed to be a "Hillary says bad ***** about democratic voters behind closed doors too" article, because i don't think it comes close to the Barack slip-up. I hope you guys aren't assuming she should be supportive of MoveOn after the way that org is treating her.
- queotic, on 04/19/2008, -1/+4"Move On" means move past personal attacks and focus on the issues. HRC is not focusing on the issues and is admittedly, throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Obama (actually, I think she threw that too). Move On is supporting a candidate who wants to get past petty politics and talk about the issues. Move on Hillary.
- fodbirdy, on 04/19/2008, -4/+11Boom! Campaign Headshot
- joshuagor44, on 04/19/2008, -3/+3Pfft... politics! Am I right?
- boombye, on 04/19/2008, -1/+1About what?
- Deoliver47, on 04/19/2008, -11/+4You must be referring to McCain winnestow - He's the racist, who hangs out with Hagee, who hates Catholics - who likes a terrorist named GWB
- queotic, on 04/19/2008, -0/+3I doubt that McCain is a racist - he DOES have an adopted Bengali daughter. However, it is unfair that the media gives the McCain/Hagee relationship a free pass. It's hypocritical.
