- KLBP, on 05/04/2008, -0/+16That is because no serious economist would support her gas tax proposal. It would have very bad consequences for our highway infrastructure, it would not save any money at the pump and could actually further increase the cost of fuel that does not have the highway tax (e.g. fuel used in industrial processes, equipment that doesn't drive on public roads, etc.). Clinton and McCain need to be taken to task for the fuel tax holiday proposal. I'm particularly shocked that McCain proposed it, because he is supposed to be about straight talk and fiscal responsibility and this proposal is neither.
- neognostic, on 05/05/2008, -0/+2Both HRC and McCain know this will never pass, since the leadership of both parties are against it. This is just showboating by both candidates whose followers are too ignorant of simple economics to see what is wrong with the plan.
- tcbishop12, on 05/04/2008, -0/+14Senator Clinton is enjoying a temporary bump in the polls, but her support of the "gas tax holiday" and shipping jobs to China will come back to bite her!
- cloak419, on 05/05/2008, -0/+4No, just the American people.
- diggeradoo, on 05/04/2008, -1/+15The only "expert" Hillary has rolled out in support of this universally dumb idea is Steve Elmendorf, a Clinton supporter ... and, get this ... a Lobbyist for Shell Oil. Nice. http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Shell_Lobyist_On ...
- callinthelaw69, on 05/05/2008, -0/+8Wow all the experts realize that it's a stupid ***** plan.
Imagine that. - x0rcist, on 05/05/2008, -1/+8That is because she doesn't know what the ***** she's talking about.
- theonedigg, on 05/05/2008, -0/+3We have to let the voters in Indiana and North Carolina know that this is a sham!
- pdbailey, on 05/05/2008, -0/+14Hillary also said, "Well, I'll tell you what, I'm not going to put my lot in with economists." After years of attacking George Bush for not listening to experts but going with his gut, we sure are getting a lot of Clinton-gut on this one.
I guess her gut says she wants to win this election really, really bad.- souljaboytellem, on 05/05/2008, -0/+2She better get ready for a big disappointment then
- tcpip4lyfe, on 05/05/2008, -11/+3Its good to see Obama has some sense about the gas tax. I'm still not going to vote for him though. And also, all you fan boys can die in a fire.
- MAGZine, on 05/05/2008, -4/+2Ron Paul fans are the new Obama fans, 'eh?
- Ockniel, on 05/05/2008, -1/+4I think you got that backwards.
- smacksaw, on 05/05/2008, -1/+2As a Ron Paul fan who is supporting Obama, the RP position would be to cut taxes on principle. Enjoy your little red thumb I gave you.
- souljaboytellem, on 05/05/2008, -0/+2If Clinton gets elected we most likely will
- MAGZine, on 05/05/2008, -4/+2Ron Paul fans are the new Obama fans, 'eh?

- smacksaw, on 05/05/2008, -0/+3So wait...does this mean that Steffy Stephanopoopooloose is a credible journalist now?
- oldhick, on 05/05/2008, -0/+4no. he just asked one good question, twice.
- eggraid, on 05/05/2008, -0/+1This video and the conclusions we can come to are very interesting indeed. The only thing I don't like about this posting is that the title makes it look like Hillary forgot the name of the economist who supports her plan while the truthe is that she can't name ONE credible economist to agree with her. The consequences of the latter are much more significant than if she just had a blank... which we can all understand
