  • Kangalanatolian, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1The problem isn't just diebold or touch screen machines. It is any vote counting done with any programming or resetting possible.

    The constitution guarantees you the right to KNOW your vote was counted. If your vote becomes an electron manipulated by a program, you can no longer know it was counted. The "chain of custody" was lost at that point.
  • Navicerts, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1It's not a bad project - determine if each district was hand or machine counted and summarize and compare the results to look for any blaring trends. Chances are there will be a trend, but mild in either direction - I wouldn't expect anything too surprising, but it's easy (although time consuming) to check.
