Harvey Weinstein Threatens Pelosi Over Clinton
cnnwire.blogs.cnn.com — In a heated phone call with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi late last month, Hillary Clinton supporter Harvey Weinstein threatened to cut off campaign money to congressional Democrats unless Pelosi embraced a new plan by the movie mogul to finance a revote of the Democratic presidential primaries in Florida and Michigan.

- liseycat, on 05/09/2008, -6/+43Typical Clinton politics. When will Hill & Bill realize the stuff they could get away with in the 90's won't work anymore? They cannot buy Hillary the Presidency. Let Michigan come up with their own plan, let the DNC approve it, and move on!

Now, to be serious, I don't believe I ever claimed to "understand everything". I don't believe I ever will. But I can become informed and understand "some things".

there hundreds of other articles that show what Clinton loving douche Weinstein is and how he tries to use his power to control people.

- disfunktion, on 05/09/2008, -4/+38Typical tactics from ELITE Clinton supporters. If they can't have it legitimately, they'll buy it..
- oldhick, on 05/09/2008, -12/+6These are the tactics of elite Obama, Clinton, Bush, McCain supporters... This isn't about Hillary nearly as much as its about rules not applying to the rich.
- disfunktion, on 05/09/2008, -3/+12I would never deny that. What needs to be pointed out is the obvious, evidently. That is that Hillary has been branding herself as a canidate for working class folks and has been trying to label Obama as an Elitist. She is points out that the company he keeps is part of Obama's problem yet look at the company she keeps. Obama comes from a lower-middle class up bringing while she came into the world with the silver spoon dangling from her mouth. Obama got lucky and made good money on his book and has become a successful politician but even he was in debt as little as 5 years ago. The Clintons are multi-millionaires. Lumping Obama into the Clintons group is un fair and reasonable and shows you don't know what you are talking about. It has everything to do with Hillary as the story is about a rich supporter of hers threatening the party monetarily because he doesn't like that she has all but lost the nomination.
- oldhick, on 05/09/2008, -5/+5Dude, you're one of these people who believe your candidate can do no wrong while all the others are evil. I can easily lump Obama and the Clintons into groups depending on the circumstances.
No one is perfect. Be careful as you mouth off. As you condemn Hilary for something a rich friend has done, you open the door for Obama to be held accountable for everything his friends do. If you honestly believe Obama has no dirty or unethical supporters than you're a fool. Politics is dirty, dirty business my friend.
Lets just both agree that rich *****'s shouldn't get to change the rules.- TheXeno, on 05/09/2008, -0/+3Not everyone that is rich is morally corrupt. Not everything that is popular has sold out. And not every politician is a evil bastard. There are other sides to those coins, but maybe ya get the idea.
- oldhick, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1I disagree about the politician part, but with you on the rest.
- disfunktion, on 05/09/2008, -2/+7I never once said Obama is perfect, he is after all, a politician, no? I just dont see how you could possibly believe he and Hillary are a like? If you believe that then you are out of touch. There is no mouthing off being done by me. I am able to call it like I see as you went out of your way to mouth off to my original comment. Obama has to have people pulling for him that I dont not agree with as he has made it this far, so we can agree there. Since once again I need to point out that the topic here is Hillary and her dirty friends, that was the subject of this story. You are more then able to talk about Obama's dirty dealings on articles about his friends bullying democratic leaders. For some reason or another, I sure don't see a lot of those articles from reputable sources though..
Yes Rich *****'s are scum and they shouldn't be allowed to do this. Seems to be the way of our world and our politics in America. Shocking isn't it? Not really.- KiraDnote, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2Re-read the story. It's not about Clinton. They just threw her name in there to dupe idiots like you. Go ahead, re-read it.
- disfunktion, on 05/10/2008, -1/+0Once again, I said it is about her Supporter. He is IN FACT, her supporter. He did in FACT contact Pelosi for a re-vote. Maybe you are the one missing something from the article. All media outlets have reported the story the same way. You are the idiot being duped by that repugnant women. But go ahead and keep up your anti-obama crusade, you keep fightin' that good fight....

HAD you said, "The party is in a fiscal position, thanks to Obama's fundraising, to tell that fat voter subverting fatcat to ***** OFF", you would be less abrasive and dugg, not buried. And leave out the Romney rant, it all makes you sound angry.
But yeah, it would be nice to tell Weinstein to ***** off. No contributer should have that much power.

Nope. They decided to vote early, knowing they'd lose their delegates. They chose. They live with it.
There would be more problems with a re-vote than benefits at this point. If the voters in those states are ***** enough about it, maybe they should take it up with their elected officials who decided to do something so ***** stupid, and vote them out.

I ask him what's up, seeing the coffee cup in his hand, and he tells me he just dunked his balls in the guys cup. I never saw it happen but from the way he was laughing I'm inclined to believe it. Also, I'm guessing the coffee was at the bottom of the pot and couldn't have been too hot. I still smile thinking about that.

- lhbaker, on 05/09/2008, -3/+1Sadly enough, Florida and Michigan ought to get a redo. If Hillary wins after adding them, or Obama wins after not counting them, nobody will really be satisfied. It's probably better to just redo them and not have this hanging out there until the Convention and beyond. I think Obama can carry Michigan, but there are too many old women in Florida to ignore. All we really need to do is use the confusing ballots again, and we can count Florida out.
- MarkusDee, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1First, these two states shouldn't have broken the rules like they did. Second, I can have some sympathy for Michigan but Florida can go screw themselves after the last two election. ***** you harvey, ***** you harvey, ***** you. no one likes you anyway and this ***** isnt helping.
maybe ill fire up the old uTorrent and host everything you've got out in theaters and DVD 24/7 until the election is over. If you want to steal my election Ill steal your bull-***** cinematic vomit.
oh yes, ***** YOU HARVEY! - minox, on 05/09/2008, -1/+1My goodness. This is really an election of Dem politics coming home to roost. First the backfire of identity politics. Then there's the Hollywood backers trying to get disproportional control of the voting process. I've seen everything.
- whodoes, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1keep laughing. Right up until the Talking-in-tongues-demon-expelling-Christo-fascist REPUBLICAN lunatics on the right get us into the crusade they want so desperately.
- chrishiggins, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Was I the only one who thought it referred to Harvey FIERSTEIN at first?
- proliance, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1I admit I did a Google search. Though if it was Harvey Fierstein protesting it would be much more dramatic.
- Gemfinder, on 05/09/2008, -1/+2I'm okay with a revote of MI and FL after the primary season, but if he pushes this through I'll be adding Harvey Weinstein to my list of boycotted Hollywood. Simply because, they have too much power already.
- whodoes, on 05/09/2008, -1/+1oh PLEASE. have you actually paid attention to where the money comes from ?
- averagejoesgym, on 05/09/2008, -0/+0I can't believe this article can even be published. It's a sad state of affairs in our country. I know there is plenty of corruption, but for the corruption to be so ingrained to the point where the corrupters do their evil deeds publicly without fear of retaliation or legal consequences is minboggling.
- Chip53, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1My, my. The Democrats are such lovely people aren't they?
- radiantstorm, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1The mantra of the ruling class: "The end justifies the means." Democracy is unfortunately incompatible with this philosophy.
- barddzen, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1I don't understand the big issue with MI and FL. There are rules that weren't followed why should there be a re-vote? The issue was investigated, discussed and a decision made. IMO the leadership in the DNC needs to get a sack and step-up and take control of this whole process. Allowing delegates to hold their votes "until the process completes" is total BS, especially after their home state has already completed the process.
- InOmniaParatus8, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Could you imagine if he had tried this ***** with Tip O'Neil?
- Oogler, on 05/09/2008, -2/+1GO HARVEY! Right to do it, right to say it, right to push the speaker into the correct decision. It's his money.
- srondizzle, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2So he should use it to bully the Democratic party for his own personal interests?
- whodoes, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1thats his point exactly. its crap, but that is what he's saying.
- srondizzle, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2So he should use it to bully the Democratic party for his own personal interests?
- citizenme, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1I'm demanding that Weinstein quit supporting such a whore of a candidate. The boycott begins.
- whodoes, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1i dont have any problem with him supporting Hillary, but THIS form of action is deplorable and Its right in line with the Clinton style of at-all-costs politicking.
- gkiltz, on 05/09/2008, -0/+0If Obama is really sure he can't win with a more mainstream running mate, at very least, Pelosi is simply not the lightning rod who's going to ***** off his opponents that Clinton is!
- bshock, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1There are about 10,000 people in the U.S. who could improve the world by leaving it.
Hillary Clinton is one of them. Apparently, so is Harvey Weinstein. - RayPublica, on 05/09/2008, -0/+0If this is true - and I have no doubt that it is - then we are looking at a case of extortion and bribery. Weinstein et al are not just saying "If you don't do as I say, I will stop funding you." What they are saying is "If you vote my way, I will give you lots of money." Congress and the Justice Dept should be all over this. It would, of course, require that our stalwart representatives have the integrity to bite the hand that feeds them. This is exactly what is wrong with America today and exactly what the founding fathers warned of. Weinstein and any congressmen who caved in to his demands or who refuse to cooperate in an investigation need to be made examples of and put away for the remainder of their lives.
