- ElectroOverlord, on 05/07/2008, -2/+3At least a voice of "REASON"!
- jabberwolf, on 05/07/2008, -13/+2Cojones Reason?
This guy has trouble remembering what pills he's supposed to be taking and misplaces his teeth.
As for Cojones (shivers) lets not go there but no he doesn't.- kipmartin, on 05/07/2008, -1/+3you would know.
- Malacandra95, on 05/07/2008, -0/+18Actually, let's go there.
George McGovern served in the Army Air Corps during WWII as a bomber pilot. He flew 35 mission over enemy territory against anti-aircraft artillery.
He received the Distinguished Flying Cross for saving his crew by landing a damaged bomber on an airfield on a tiny island.
So, tell me what acts of heroism of yours allow you to dismiss those of George McGovern?- kss42, on 05/07/2008, -0/+5I think he's an unlockable character in Call of Duty 3.
- rdoger6424, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1Jabberwolf or McGovern?
- kss42, on 05/07/2008, -0/+5I think he's an unlockable character in Call of Duty 3.
- MoClippa, on 05/08/2008, -0/+4McGovern seemed like he wanted to drop her for a while. On a Democracy Now interview, when Amy Goodman pressed him about his endorsement of Hilary and what he thought of Obama, he said something along the lines of:
I endorsed Hilary before I really knew who Obama was and what he was capable of.
Goodman asked whether he wanted to switch his endorsement, and he replied that though he had tremendous respect for Obama, he did not want to jump ship because he had made Hilary a commitment and he did not want to break it.
I suppose he realizes now what a problem she has become for the party in the upcoming presidential race, and he's not sticking around to back her anymore.

- tim2nyy, on 05/07/2008, -1/+15For the first time in a long time, it really feels like the tide is turning.
- countmischief, on 05/07/2008, -10/+2Unfortunately the tide will fade away and McCain will win the General don't believe me just wait!
- sweetholymosiah, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1You WOULD wait
- crweaks23, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2I'll wait, but I'm not sure if McCain can. I can already smell the formaldehyde.
- countmischief, on 05/07/2008, -10/+2Unfortunately the tide will fade away and McCain will win the General don't believe me just wait!
- jontalisman, on 05/07/2008, -21/+4Add another "winner" to Obama's roster including Kerry, Carter, Kennedy, etc. ...
- JigoroKano, on 05/07/2008, -2/+15So you prefer Nixon to McGovern, Bush to Kerry, etc ?
- NonLeftistDiggr, on 05/07/2008, -13/+3oh yeah, definitely on #2, Bush sucks at pretty much everything ever, but on one issue I'm glad he one, I'd be scared ***** to see who Kerry would pick for the Supreme court.
- OSURoss, on 05/07/2008, -2/+7What are you doing online? Shouldn't you be somewhere praying?
- NonLeftistDiggr, on 05/07/2008, -3/+1sorry to disappoint you, I'm an atheist!
- Enasni1212, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1But not a very good atheist, apparently. I'm not entirely sure why, but Digg has spoken.
- ism70605, on 05/07/2008, -2/+3" . . . I'm glad he one . . ."
You voted for Bush, eh? Well, you voted for the right guy. I am sure you and he see eye to eye. - TrojanGuy, on 05/07/2008, -1/+3Probably somebody who actually knows what's in the Constitution and respects individuals' rights. Still scared *****?
- NonLeftistDiggr, on 05/07/2008, -3/+1LOL, sure, respects individuals' rights and the constitution, by expanding tort lawsuites, taking away workers rights to union secret ballots, taking away parental rights, taking away gun rights, taking away rights to be evaluated for jobs and colleges solely by individual merit, taking away rights to choose schools,.... get real
- DrTubes, on 05/07/2008, -1/+1" . . . I'm glad he one . . ."
Too bad he hadn't "one" earlier during your life. That way you might not have been won of the "children left behind"- NonLeftistDiggr, on 05/07/2008, -2/+1Sorry, that's the CA teachers union education I gots coming out.....

- countmischief, on 05/07/2008, -1/+2Nixon wasn't that bad: he opened China, resumed negotiations with Russia, created the first substantive nuclear arms treaty, and won the war in Vietnam (don't believe me look it up, south Vietnam was autonomous until he resigned and Henry Kissinger signed a truce with North Vietnam).
- kipmartin, on 05/07/2008, -1/+3too bad he broke federal law several times, killed 150,000 boys before he 'won' the War in Viet Nam, erased tapes tried to tear down entitlements like medical care for kids, unemployment compensation, and Headstart. he finished the process of opening China, accepted resumptions of negotiation at the request of Russia, signed the first nuclear arms treaty written and negotiated by members of NATO, ahem--this just in--he didnt 'win the war ' in Viet Nam. that war was to stop the spread of communism. South Viet Nam became communist...how is that 'wninning'?
you have been fed the BS about Nixon the revisionists want in the history books. it sounds good and we like the idea, and it helps in arguments, but the fact is, Nixon was a dangerous man with an agenda, and axe to grind against communists, and a certain balance of hard work and intelligence employed in the pet project of his life--the dismantling of communism abroad and what he consided socialism at home.
he was no moderate.
- slearwig, on 05/07/2008, -2/+2I prefer Julie Nixon Eisenhower. She supports Obama.
- NonLeftistDiggr, on 05/07/2008, -13/+3oh yeah, definitely on #2, Bush sucks at pretty much everything ever, but on one issue I'm glad he one, I'd be scared ***** to see who Kerry would pick for the Supreme court.
- Shiftgood, on 05/07/2008, -3/+5Sounds like you're scared.
- NonLeftistDiggr, on 05/07/2008, -6/+1Great point, funny too!
- countmischief, on 05/07/2008, -0/+5Last time I checked Kennedy and Carter did win.
- jontalisman, on 05/07/2008, -1/+2First, I was referring to Ted Kennedy's support of Obama. Yes, Carter won. However, he's also considered among the worst Presidents in US history.
- jontalisman, on 05/07/2008, -2/+2Hardly, and I was talking about Ted Kennedy, not JFK.
- JigoroKano, on 05/07/2008, -2/+15So you prefer Nixon to McGovern, Bush to Kerry, etc ?
- richmomz, on 05/07/2008, -3/+9Fat lady: "lalalalalalaLAAA!"
- BrendanSheehan, on 05/07/2008, -1/+1That song is over and a month has past.
- jadedlens, on 05/07/2008, -11/+6If Obama's the nominee, Obama and McGovern will have a lot in common after this election. Namely, in the top 5 largest electoral vote landslides in American election history.
- countmischief, on 05/07/2008, -12/+4I agree, all Obamorans are going to digg me down for saying this but Barack Obama has very little appeal to white blue-collar families, which combined with his lack of service and his tax increases are going to decrease the elderly vote by a sizable chunk (unlike Al Gore with his Social Security "Lockbox"). Hopefully everyone is aware that the youth vote is very fickle. Also it helps to note that Nixon was pretty unpopular (though not as unpopular as Bush), superdelegates were created because of McGovern, maybe they will be used to thwart another McGovern.
- anshuman, on 05/07/2008, -0/+4its happening isnt it hillary.
- FukUrCouch, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2People remember! If it was the GOP way of doing this she would have been the nominee already! What else can this lady come up with to stay in the race?
- suzywang3000, on 05/07/2008, -13/+3I can't frigging STAND George McGovern
- malman4, on 05/07/2008, -2/+2McGovern was a loser then, and still a loser now.
- AllyOfReason, on 05/07/2008, -0/+5Despite everything, I don't see Hillary accepting defeat even after she is officially defeated at the DNC.
- junkwheel, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1They will come to their conclusion, say the nominee is Bar.....
And before they can say Barack she will blurt out:
SNIPER FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- junkwheel, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1They will come to their conclusion, say the nominee is Bar.....
- hurleyNY, on 05/07/2008, -4/+0the tide may be turning...but there are still some races to be won...namely, the superdelegate race...
- Nougat, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2Maybe there's some island nation we can suggest she go be president of.
- countmischief, on 05/07/2008, -6/+1And Obama will not win that race because superdelegates were created explicitly to prevent another George McGovern. Obama is a reincarnation of George McGovern, he's the most liberal member of the senate (which isn't a bad thing), can you say Amnesty, Acid and Abortion, the republicans can.
- Plantagenet, on 05/07/2008, -2/+0Funny how the dems have set up their rules so the unelected superdelegates ultimately choose their nominee.
- clarkefreak, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1it's not like this couldn't happen on the GOP side of things too, that system also has unpledged delegates who can swing a gridlocked race for party interest
- dunderballer, on 05/07/2008, -5/+2Well things are winding down. It's been an exciting primary. Even though Obama is the best fit, it was exciting to see the Clintons, particularly Bill, back on the political front line. It would have been entertaining to have Bubba back in the Whitehouse. Too bad he isn't Barak's husband. That would be a pair. haha
- underburn, on 05/07/2008, -0/+6I am that much dumber now for reading your stupid ass comment.
- xNarrowSoulx, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1Barak? What are you, an Alabama school teacher from the 50's? 'That therez that afre-kan barak.'
- rebotfc, on 05/07/2008, -1/+1It's over.
- Treoinmypocket, on 05/07/2008, -0/+7I guess no one knows who McGovern is.....lol
Ignorance is bliss.- countmischief, on 05/07/2008, -6/+2lol indeed
McGovern=Obama
Can you say Amnesty, Acid and Abortion the republicans certainly can! - RudeTurnip, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2As a 32-year old, all I know is that Alex P. Keaton didn't like him.
- Elliuotatar, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3With a name like that, he was born to lead!
- countmischief, on 05/07/2008, -6/+2lol indeed
- mediaspree, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2The front page currently contains no less than 8 articles about Hillary. WTF, digg?
- countmischief, on 05/07/2008, -3/+2Just wait until November 4th every headline will tell you how McCain "stole" the nomination with his 60-40 victory.
- DaDrake, on 05/07/2008, -8/+3This guy may just be the republican's best friend. Honestly, how can he be so stupid to put public pressure on Cliton to leave? Doesn't he understand that without Cliton's support, the democrats WILL loose the election. Polls allready show that 24% of Cliton supports will not support Obama (and instead McCain) in the general election if she drops out. The worst thing you could do is alienate a large base of your party by using the media to push her out...... best to do what Obama AND McCain has done. You THANK your opposition for the race and keep going on.
- xNarrowSoulx, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3And you assume these 24% of people are wrong in thinking Hillary is a worse candidate than McCain? Sure, McCain is a Republican, but at least he doesn't fabricate lucid stories for the sake of light applause...
- Lazydriver, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2No, but that doesn't stop him from being a corrupt greedy ***** that'll do anything to spend your tax dollars on his personal monetary gain, like the Anheiser-Busch beer exclusives in a stadium built by taxpayer dollars in Arizona.
- xNarrowSoulx, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3And you assume these 24% of people are wrong in thinking Hillary is a worse candidate than McCain? Sure, McCain is a Republican, but at least he doesn't fabricate lucid stories for the sake of light applause...
- jerrycurley, on 05/07/2008, -9/+2following her showing? She won a state in which she had trailed by double digits. And that is a reason to drop out?
- skunks, on 05/07/2008, -0/+13McGovern is still alive? Next thing ya know, Hubert Humphrey's gonna pop up to tell her to quit.
- countmischief, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2Not before Adlai Stevenson.
- whiterice0, on 05/07/2008, -3/+7Don't you listen to him Hillary. Remember Churchill: “Never, ever, ever give up!”
- kanvas, on 05/07/2008, -0/+15That was different. Churchill was fighting the Nazis. Hillary is fighting reality.
- whiterice0, on 05/07/2008, -1/+5OK. That was funny. (I'm just tweaking a few noses anyways).
- xNarrowSoulx, on 05/07/2008, -0/+4lol.
- Lazydriver, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3lol
- kanvas, on 05/07/2008, -0/+15That was different. Churchill was fighting the Nazis. Hillary is fighting reality.
- JQP123, on 05/07/2008, -2/+2How can you assign much significance to an endorsement from someone whose judgment is so obviously flawed? Were it not for McGovern's poor judgment, there would be no need to switch now. He's just another politican driven by the prevailing political winds.
- oldcyborg, on 05/07/2008, -1/+1she will NOT quit. She believes this is her right, and that she MUST be the president..... I don't agree with her at all, but I do worry that Obama will be forced to accept her as VP..... Because push come to shove, she will accept the job.... It gets her closer to power, altho it would be a bitter pill to swallow......
That leaves me Obama or McClain... Both expouse beliefs that I do not like, but might have to accept anyway.....
Cyborg- xNarrowSoulx, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1Hey, at least it would get the Hillary supporters voting for Obama. He's in good health, and what Hillary supporter is going to go kill Obama to get her in office? No problem that I can see.
- DaLukeMan, on 05/07/2008, -0/+6he would have mcgoverned the ***** out of the U.S.
- dimebonics, on 05/07/2008, -1/+3Of course he had to wait until it was numerically impossible for Hillary to win. Where were you a month ago?
- Plantagenet, on 05/07/2008, -6/+2Obama = McGovern
- InvisibleMan, on 05/07/2008, -3/+2McGovern? Let the 80s die. Nobody likes zombie decades.
- dafragsta, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3He at least has some insight. He was the presidential candidate in '72.
- countmischief, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1aaaaaaaaaaaaah the campaign of '72 I remember that like it was yesterday, Hubert Humphrey trying to steal the election at the convention even though he didn't have as many votes (HRC), wartime election (admittedly not nearly as bad as 68, or 04 for that matter), Shirly Chrisholm makes history as first black candidate (Obama repeats history), and at the end of the day its all meaningless because the republicans take the election in a landslide.
- dubhousing, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3InvisibleMan: Nobody likes people who are absent any sense of history.
- dafragsta, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3He at least has some insight. He was the presidential candidate in '72.
- larsone86, on 05/07/2008, -2/+3Lets hope that the remaining superdelegates start to come out of the woodwork and finally endorse Obama.
- Plantagenet, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1Yes...no sense having messy elections. Just let the unelected superdelegates pick the nominee.
- EtherGnat, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2The election has already been decided. Hillary can't win the delegate count, which is what counts, and she can't win the popular vote either unless you use some very creative math.
- Plantagenet, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1Yes...no sense having messy elections. Just let the unelected superdelegates pick the nominee.
- jabberwolf, on 05/07/2008, -1/+4This guy needs a nap, he's drooling (someone get him a bib) , and he wants some apple sauce too!
- dubhousing, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1He would kick your ass into the ground if you were an insubordinate prick during World War II. Show some respect.
- DraxusD, on 05/07/2008, -0/+5"Keep the primary going but take the gloves off," she said. "Let's make this more of a boxing match rather than a street brawl like it has been for the last couple of weeks."
Last time I checked, boxers wore gloves and street brawlers didn't - taradisiac, on 05/07/2008, -2/+3Who cares about one of the biggest losers in the history of the democratic party?
- YodaJones, on 05/07/2008, -7/+1It figures that a woman doesn't know when enough is enough. How typical is that?
- dubhousing, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3Big surprise: Yoda was an asexual alien, but I didn't realize he was a women-hater as well.
- xNarrowSoulx, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1I hope that was a joke, and even if it was, you need to stop. I'm just telling you. It's not funny, and we don't need those kind of comments.
- GrodyChamp, on 05/07/2008, -1/+1Sweet, now we get rawstory Obama spam!
- junkwheel, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2What really matters is West Virginia. Ask yourself, when can a state matter? It can only in two instances: nobody has won it yet, or Hillary has won it.
- NelsonR, on 05/07/2008, -1/+2Does anyone really think Bill and Hillary will drop out? If you do you believe in the tooth fairy.
Hillary has lost, she doesn't like it and to prove her point she will destroy Obama with Republican talking points all the way to the convention. UNLESS, the super delegates get a spine and stop the charade now, today, this minute before Hillary has Iraqi John McCain win this race. Knowing Hillary's past I wouldn't put this past her, a Republican President if Hillary is not the nominee. A truism and time will prove my point. - radiofrequency, on 05/07/2008, -3/+2This guy is half the man John McCain is and just as old.
The list of "high-profile" Obama supporters reads like a half-century of who's who in losing elections.- NelsonR, on 05/07/2008, -2/+2Well, do you know how to say, President Obama? I bet it wrankles you>
- RRJackson, on 05/08/2008, -3/+1Might as well say, "President Osama." They both stand about the same chances of winning a general election.
- NelsonR, on 05/07/2008, -2/+2Well, do you know how to say, President Obama? I bet it wrankles you>
- Jassman, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3George McGovern was the last guy George Carlin voted for.
- RRJackson, on 05/08/2008, -4/+3McGovern. You know, that's what Mayor McCheese does in McDonaldland. SO, the guy who lost to Nixon in '72 in the worst ass-kicking the Democrats have ever taken in a presidential election wants Obama to be the nominee. That's quite an endorsement.
- URnotheonly1, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1When you are yellow, you are yellow. What you thought this guy had a fight in his belly. HAHAHAHAHAHA
- kaoru777, on 05/08/2008, -1/+1Game over, Hillary! Game over!
- Dysarthria, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1He just wants to see someone lose worse than he did.
- schwab002, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1I love McGovern. Besides Kucinich, I haven't seen anyone else outline such solid and concrete plans for withdrawing from Iraq. Just because the man lost a US presedential election does not disqualify him from having valid political views.
check out some of his ideas:
