For CNN Youtube Republican debate - What secret societies do you belong to?
turnleft.chattablogs.com — In 2004, both major party candidates for President were members of the secret society "Skull and Bones", but no one knew until after Kerry won the nomination. Blogger without his own video camera asks someone to submit a video for CNN/Youtube debate asking the Repub candidates which secret societies they belong to. Submit deadline is November 25.

- georgemason01, on 11/25/2007, -14/+34Skull and Bones is as much part of the NWO as the CFR is. Skull and Bones is like the elementary school of the Illuminati progression scale, while CFR is like high school or early college.
- trenchcoat, on 11/25/2007, -10/+20So what part of the NWO was Skull and Bones? Was that the one with Hollywood Hogan or Kevin Nash?
- SilverBlade2k, on 11/25/2007, -14/+14Skull and Bones is one arm of the Illuminati. Same as "Skull and Key"
- senatorpjt, on 11/25/2007, -10/+36It's a frat house.

- ZenMojo, on 11/25/2007, -3/+23Exactly. You can't prove the Illuminati, so why talk so much ***** about it? What's more important is realizing a lot of very rich, powerful people exist in a secret organization that favors legacies and have historically padded the rosters of the premiere intelligence gathering organization of the United States which was in turn historically proven to be involved in the usurpation of sovereign governments abroad.
See how much nicer "facts" sound than "conjecture?"- Valmorgan, on 11/26/2007, -1/+3*****, many countries have busted and outlawed secret societies, Germany is one of them. We even have a law against secret societies, its called the RICOH act.

- NightVortez, on 11/25/2007, -21/+7How does that effect their political judgment? Look at their political record for issues not personal life.
- m0tbaillie, on 11/25/2007, -3/+6These days you have to look much deeper than that. Politicians are great at making their ***** smell like roses and talking up/explaining away their political history. These days, you have to know who the candidate *really* is. A person's past tells a lot about their character, and a lot about what kind of person they're like to deal with, or what type of business/interpersonal connections/relations they may or may not have. Just ask Giuiliani's three ex-wives.
- NightVortez, on 11/25/2007, -0/+4I'm not saying listen to what they said, their political history would tell much more about them, Giuliani's political history would tell you he is dishonest, no need to look at his wives for the answer.
- imthe1, on 11/26/2007, -0/+3"a person's past tells a lot about their character,..." so wouldn't that mean that looking at their past voting records, and policies they promoted would be a good indicator of what they might do in the future?
- brad3378, on 11/25/2007, -1/+11Some people (myself included) like transparency in government. If a politician has an allegiance to an outside organization or conflict of interest, it would be nice to know.

- jugger74, on 11/25/2007, -6/+10You are missing the point the candidate would have to be honest about their affiliations because as much as these "secret" societies try to remain anonymous their membership rosters are always being leaked. So the candidate would have to choose whether to tell the truth now or possibly face the consequences at a less opportune time such as days before the primary.
- jgtg32a, on 11/25/2007, -0/+16There are consequences for when a candidate lies? Since when?
- Leomarth, on 11/25/2007, -2/+2pfft. They get re-elected. I thought that was apparent by how they lie every election season about every issue?
- chaosium, on 11/25/2007, -9/+5Mainstream America doesn't care what clubs a person belongs to. It's only the lunatic fringe that's worried about fraternities.
- vault, on 11/25/2007, -1/+6jugger, all candidates lie about something no matter what party they're from. That's just the way it is, to think otherwise is being way too optimistic. Even getting caught lying about being a secret society, the candidate could just say "That actually isn't a secret society...it's just a fraternity like many Americans are in during college." Or something to that effect.

Not even close to being true. It was quite well known if you were paying attention.
As far as the Republicans go, the Federalist Society is a nasty little right-wing breeding ground.
I believe membership was a requisite for even being considered for Gonzo's justice department. - thadjudkins, on 11/25/2007, -12/+8Uh, don't care...at all. I only want a president who will be good for the country and the world. If he(she) is in a secret society, I really don't care. With all the real good and bad things that we can use to choose a good president, why focus on minutia that likely has nothing more than a correlative connections to any significant decisions that will be made.
Basically, a question like this is roughly as revealing as "Do you prefer diamonds or pearls?" We've already got Fox and CNN stacking their audiences for flippant questions, do we really need to help?- mrjit, on 11/25/2007, -2/+7Who do you think the president will send contracts, work, earmark money, and have bias toward when his frat-buddies from 1962 are running Oil, Engineering, blackops, and whatever other industry you can think of at the same time of his presidency?

- Leomarth, on 11/25/2007, -8/+17I'll cut my argument short.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taxil_hoax
All the issues about the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, the Illuminati, Freemasonry taking over the word...etc... is a product of a hoax. But people love having secret knowledge about things that the general public doesn't buy. It makes them feel special.- gak001, on 11/25/2007, -1/+11That's just what they want you to think!!! Clearly that entire article was faked and the whole hoax is a hoax thought up by both the Illuminati and the Roman Catholic Church who are, in actuality, working together. You see, they want to create skepticism as a smoke screen, preventing serious investigation into their practices. I mean, it's so obvious you have to be some kind of l@mzor n00b not to see it. Sheeple. Lolz. O RLY. WTF. Ron Paul. Dugg.
- ZenMojo, on 11/25/2007, -0/+1Hehehe. Reminds me of that video from the 1950's about Civil Rights in which it had some angry urban dude screaming on a stage about Freemasons and Catholics and then he had a Nazi superimposed on him while some sad old dude sadly talks about our modern day and age.

- Tweekster, on 11/25/2007, -1/+2Um yes it did. It made brief news, but since a fraternity membership is soo unimportant it went away
- HanSolo69, on 11/25/2007, -17/+7Ron Paul is part of the ambiguously gay duo.
- acidbass, on 11/25/2007, -7/+22Wow, lots of people freaking out, cracking lame jokes on a serious topic and being defensive as usual on here.
Why trivialize what *skull & bones*-type societies these people belong to?
Why do you argue for remaining ignorant of presidential candidates?
Why would you NOT want to know anything and everything about all the candidates before you vote for them?- Leomarth, on 11/25/2007, -6/+10All I want to know is their political philosophy, and their voting record. That's really all I need to know. I don't care about intimate details of their personal lives.
- acidbass, on 11/25/2007, -5/+9Ok, so you dont care if your presidential candidate chooses to fly to thailand to bang teenage boy prostitutes (where its legal) but
as long as your candidate shares your 'political philosophy' and you like his voting record, thats cool with you. Ok.
Did you know elected officials are in charge of more than voting on issues?
Sometimes they are in charge of committees or even worse, appoint committees and they get to spend your money on things. That might count a little too, Oh and of course if that candidate's 'political philosophy' says that he is socially conservative yet spends his money on strip bars and throws parties with strippers and hookers, hey, thats cool too, b/c thats his private personal business.
Heres a great example of what youre talking about and how its wrong to me:
Republicans are known for being socially conservative, that means they don't like things getting too sexual or freaky in the public domain especially when it breaks the law,
But if we look at this list of republican sex scandals,
http://www.dkosopedia.com/wiki/Republican_Sex_Scan ...
youll find quite a few do one thing and say another, i call this the height of hypocrisy.
Its staggering to see how many people who say their poltiical philosophy is socially conservative, yet do so many non-socially conservative things like sex with children.
This is why a public official's private life to the extend of what he or she likes to do in their spare time does matter and should matter to voters who want to live in a better society.- Leomarth, on 11/25/2007, -1/+2*sigh* You must take very extreme examples, right? Do you care if a teacher in you childrens school is doing the same? Perhaps you should pull any children out of school until you find every intimate detail of their lives, right?
- acidbass, on 11/26/2007, -2/+1Ah, Welcome Leomarth,
And thank you for the reply. You sound like youre being a GOOD republican. Good for you!
So let me get this straight.....
Youre asking me if i care if a teacher in my child's school is going to thailand and banging teenage boys in the ass on his vacations?
.............................Hmmm.......................
I am going to answer YES, and then im going to alert Chris Hansen with NBC Dateline to come over to your house to have a little chat with you............
man, seriously though, I think youre going to have to delete your digg screen name after that post, forget that now you look like a pedophile and the FBI will want to talk to you, but you are STICKING UP FOR PEDOPHILIA PRACTITIONERS BEING ABLE TO TEACH OUR KIDS?!?
Hey man, the "every pedophile has a right to teach children" lobby is a lonely one, namely its filled with people from NAMBLA:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NAMBLA
(NAMBLA stands for: North American Man/Boy Love Association )
And it sounds like youre already a member so you probably know about this.
ANd yes, i think id want to know if my child's teacher is a member of NAMBLA, etc....
Welp, Good luck with that position Leomarth. :) - Leomarth, on 11/26/2007, -1/+2@acidbass
Sorry, it wouldn't let me reply directly. Digg error. Here is my reply...
Sorry, I won't let you stick me with a straw man.
My point was that you trust many people in your life without knowing every single detail of their personal life, including people that already have authority in your life.
Now, I understand, from reading your posts, that you specialize in argument by absurdity, but it really won't get you very far in life. And don't call me a Republican again. I hate both Republicans and Democrats equally. - acidbass, on 11/26/2007, -1/+1"My point was that you trust many people in your life without knowing every single detail of their personal life, including people that already have authority in your life."
Ok, lets just focus on that.
I never said i wanted to know every single detail, THAT is what you call a straw man,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man
How did i mis-represent your position on teacher privacy?
I think i hit it on the head. You think its ok that teachers can so what they want to little kids in thailand, and i think its not ok, what did i get wrong?
sorry about calling you a republican though, that was pretty low of me. - Leomarth, on 11/26/2007, -0/+2@acidbass
I hate Digg problems sometimes. Are you getting the same one where it says your session has timed out?
Thanks for being a little more reasonable this time.
When you first posted, you made it sound that you would not be able to support any candidate unless you knew the intimate details of their life. Taken as a premise, that is that if you are to support or trust someone in a position of authority, you should know their personal details.
The issue of the teacher came up because a teacher has a very personal effect in your life - you trust them with your child. I could have just as easily said your DMV clerk, your postman, a police officer, etc. Each of these, in this case, work for the government. But you trust them to do their job without knowing the intimate details of their life.
However, you did say you wanted to know every single detail in your original post. I'll quote here...
"Why would you NOT want to know anything and everything about all the candidates before you vote for them?"
.... anything and everything about all the candidates...
If you want to say that wasn't exactly what you meant, fine - say so. I understand sometimes we use the wrong words. I don't hold it against anyone, especially if the conversation is good.
- acidbass, on 11/26/2007, -2/+1Ah, Welcome Leomarth,

Also, who gives a crap. It's as relevant as asking someone what fraternity they were in in college. Skull and Bones is an overhyped group given way too much focus by conspiracy theorists.- SillyDigger, on 11/25/2007, -1/+2As a fellow Skull Boner I completely agree with you.
- SemiSarcastic, on 11/25/2007, -10/+0I belong to the secret Digg society. We covertly digg articles that favor our own agenda's and use it to manipulate public opinion by giving ourselves comment ratings over 100 diggs. We sit in dark conference rooms surrounded by television monitors with ethernet cables keeping us in contact with Digg 24/7. The secret Digg society spans the globe and I am a member. Our goal? World domination through Digg ratings.

Don't you people have anything better to do than manufacture issues? Don't we have more important questions to ask presidential candidates than this? And you wonder why we have crappy leaders. We have crappy, brain dead people who ask stupid questions like what fraternity the guy belongs to. Who gives a crap.- rockrapdude, on 11/25/2007, -6/+8NON-ISSUE? Are you stupid? When two Skull and Bones society members are running for presidents then guess who wins? The one and only Skull and Bones. So either way they will affect the future of the country.

- ZenMojo, on 11/25/2007, -3/+11I think Secret Societies are extremely important and it's stupid that people want to ignore it because they compare it to every other "frat." Sorry, but that's EXACTLY why I want to know what Society you belong to. Frats are complicated social entities stretching back over generations and I have seen firsthand the kind of favoritism and protection they engender.
It's not so much that Skull and Bones is a super-secret society that may be involved in the Illuminati (whatever, who gives a *****?). It's that it's a society of wealthy, privileged, powerful, and protected legacies. I want to know what yacht club you belong to, whose campaign you worked on, who you play golf with on the weekends, and who donates to your campaign because the quickest, easiest way to see where a person's loyalties lie is to see who is the first to come to their defense when the ***** hits the fan.
Skull and Bones, Freemasons, Kiwanis, the Boy Scouts, I don't care what it's called or how secretive it is, if you assimilate, donate, and affiliate, it should be known by the people who vote for you and it is fair game. - farrellj, on 11/25/2007, -1/+1Although, I would probably vote for any member of the Keepers of the Sacred Chao (KSC), or the Discordian Society...the people who brought you the (dwarf) Planet Eris!

- eryximachus, on 11/25/2007, -4/+5There is no place for secret societies in a free society. Such organizations are the antithesis of the community and by their very nature exploit rather than defend. When the next revolution comes, such members will inherently be targets. Their loyalty is not to the Constitution and the People, it is to their cadre.
- polymyxin, on 11/25/2007, -0/+3Fun fact: the Constitution protects the freedom of assembly. Members of secret societies are exercising their Constitutional rights!
- cppwizard, on 11/25/2007, -3/+2Why doesn't CNN do the same with the Dems? When are they going to stop playing softball with Mrs. Clinton?

- RationalXubrnce, on 11/25/2007, -2/+3 It would be stupid to phrase the question as secret societies. Then the candidates would leave out Bilderberg, CFR, PNAC AEI, Trilateral Commision etc. and really these are what you want to know about.
- zenetik, on 11/26/2007, -0/+2A lot of people seem to be neglecting the fact that most college fraternities are esoteric with their secret rituals, initiation rites, symbols, and oaths. Are we to believe that all of these organizations with secrets that their members are sworn to protect for life are part of a worldwide conspiracy?
- databoy, on 11/26/2007, -2/+0In 1623, the Rose-Croix plastered the walls of Paris with mysterious and intriguing posters, which read as follows:
"We, the Deputies of the Higher College of the Rose-Croix, do make our stay, visibly and invisibly, in this city, by the grace of the Most High, to Whom turn the hearts of the Just. We demonstrate and instruct, without books and distinctions, the ability to speak all manners of tongues of the countries where we choose to be, in order to draw our fellow creatures from error of death.
"Those who take it upon themselves to see us merely out of curiosity will never make contact with us. But if their inclination seriously impels them to register in our fellowship, we, who are judges of intentions, will cause them to see the truth of our promises; to the extent that we shall not make known the place of our meeting in this city, since the thoughts attached to the real desire of seekers will lead us to them and them to us."
A few years before, the Rose-Croix had already made themselves known by publishing three now famous Manifestoes: the Fama Fraternitatis, the Confessio Fraternitatis, and the Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz, published respectively in 1614, 1615, and 1616.
At the time, these three Manifestos aroused many reactions not only in intellectual circles, but also among political and religious authorities. Between 1614 and 1620, about 400 pamphlets, manuscripts, and books were published -some to praise these Manifestos; others to disparage them. Be that as it may, their publication constituted a major historical event, especially in the esoteric world.
The Fama Fraternitatis addressed political and religious leaders, as well as the scientists of the time. While making a rather negative statement about the general situation in Europe, it revealed the existence of the Order of the Rose-Croix through the allegorical story of Christian Rosenkreutz, beginning with his journey throughout the world before giving birth to the Rosicrucian Fraternity, and ending with the discovery of his tomb. This Manifesto already called for a 'Universal Reform'.
The Confessio Fraternitatis completed the first Manifesto; on the one hand, by insisting upon the need for a regeneration of humanity and society; and, on the other hand, by pointing out that the Rosicrucian Fraternity possesses a philosophical science enabling it to achieve this regeneration. Primarily, it addressed seekers who wished to participate in the work of the Order and to strive for the happiness of humanity. The prophetic aspect of this text highly intrigued the scholars of the day.
In a style rather different from that of the first two Manifestos, the Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz related an initiatory journey which portrayed the quest for Illumination.
Now you have a real mystery and an insight into a real secret society. There are at least 22 modern Rose-Croix (Rosicrucian in English) groups who claim a lineage to the 1614 historical manifesto. Was it a con, a political game or a subtle satire on the religious domination of the Roman catholic Church.
A Google search will reveal 601,000 entries for the word Rosicrucian. One estimate by a historical researcher places the number of historical documents at over 30,000.
The Scull and Crossbones on the modern pirate flag is actually the seafaring flag of the Knight Templars. The Rosicrucians were supposedly the educated elite within the Knight Templars. Solve the Rosicrucian mystery and you will solve the secret society mystery. If you do you will be the first in almost 400 years to crack it. Reputable Scholars have come and gone and dedicated their lives to solving Rosicrucian mystery, yet the mystery is still there. Was the Rosicrucian manifestos a hoax or is there a "real secret" society in existence. - InRussetShadows, on 11/26/2007, -4/+4This is the most asinine question I've seen yet on Digg. My gosh. Who gives a freak what secret societies anyone belongs to? Typical leftist twaddle. Let's worry more about the Islamists than the boogeymen guys, mmkay? Sheesh.
- pornosteve, on 11/26/2007, -2/+3On the back of the dollar bill, on the Great Seal of the U. S. , there are 32 feathers on the right wing of the eagle and 33 on the left. Underneath the pyramid, the Latin term "Novus Ordo Seclorum" means "New World Order". It has appeared on the dollar bill since 1933. Karl Marx and Frederick Engels were students of Weishaupt and Illuminism. The 10 platforms that make up COMMUNISM are identical to the goals of the ILLUMINATI. The Communist Manifesto appeared in 1848 and Communism formed itself as a solid revolutionary movement in Russia in the early 1900's, in the form of the Bolshevik Revolution. One particular group of families made up of the Russells and the Piertponts founded several scholastic institutions, two of which were Yale and Princeton. Rev. James Piertpont and Rev. Nodiah Russell CO-founded Yale in 1701. In 1832, Gen. William Huntington Russell and Alfonso Taft, grandfather of William Howard Taft, former President of the U.S., founded a secret society at Yale called SKULL AND BONES, or "The Brotherhood of Death". Gen. Huntington's brother-in-law, Samuel Russell, founded "Russell and Co.", the world's largest opium smuggling syndicate at the time. This provided them with a huge fortune in the millions. The founders and later influential graduates of Skull and Bones studied philosophy and other subjects in Germany where many prominent "Illuminated" teachers were working. Probably the most influential family in this power circle throughout the last century has been the Harriman family. Edward H. Harriman amassed over $60 million in the late 1800's in a swift stock deal involving Union Pacific Railroad and Kuhn Loeb. (1904 Northern Securities case) William Averall Harriman, his son, graduated Yale in the Skull and Bones Fraternity in 1913. Averall Harriman controlled Harriman and Co. which owns Brown Bros. and Harriman, the world's largest private investment bank. Prescott Bush, George Bush's father was initiated and graduated in 1917. Prescott Bush as well as some other Skull and Bones Graduates were directors of the bank. These banks as well as Guaranty Trust and Union Banking Corp, all of which were controlled by Skull and Bones, were the most influential entities in building up the Soviet Union from the early times of the Bolshevik Revolution in the early 1900's, through contracts to improve mining of raw materials and rebuilding of the RR transportation infrastructure. These same banks were also directly
responsible for financing Hitler's rise to power and build up of Nazi- Socialism through contacts and subsidiary banks in Germany. The PURPOSE for the build up of - kinerry, on 11/26/2007, -0/+1Answer: It's a secret
