DoD Funded Research Suggests McCain Could Increase Terrorism
talk2action.org — Senator John McCain claims America is at war with "radical Islamic extremism", a struggle he says could last fifty, a hundred or even a thousand years but DoD supported research by world expert on suicide terrorism Robert A. Pape undercuts the senator's premise that Islam is the problem, suggests McCain's approach would likely increase terrorism.

- leatherback, on 03/16/2008, -0/+3Any one with an ounce of intelligence has been aware of Pape's work for many years. Why the Democrats have not pounded this "truth" into the conscience of the American psyche continues to astound me. Republicans are adept at creating "talking points" that get repeated ad nauseaum, that become a part of the daily lexicon.
What is wrong with Democrats?
How difficult is this?
Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat.

Occupation breeds terrorists. - theocracylooms, on 03/16/2008, -0/+0Well, I have to admit to having maybe less than an ounce of intelligence then ! - I remember hearing about Pape's work a while back but didn't grasp the significance at the time. I'm also mystified this isn't being used as a talking point. Well, I'm working on raising the profile of this news a little bit.
- DeepFriedFetus, on 03/16/2008, -0/+1We don't need funded research to determine this - just listen to what the crazy bastard is saying! I dont know about you guys, but 100 years in Iraq basically translates into two things: "We're trying to breed terrorists" and "We're trying to destroy the economy".
- theocracylooms, on 03/16/2008, -0/+0Can you boil that down to fewer words ? That's pretty succinct but shorter is better - especially as in "McCain foreign policy plan =" (whatever comes next)
