  • KLBP, on 05/10/2008, -1/+51That was a really interesting article. The more I read, the more it seems that personality wise, Hillary is very much like Bush. She has an "your with me or against me" attitude, believes her way is the only way and will try to destroy anyone who stands in her way. Just look at her comments about economists being elitist when she couldn't name one economist who supported her gas tax holiday. We've had eight years of this kind of leadership under Bush and look where it got us.

      Issue positions are important, but a good style and approach to the job are absolutely vital for people who MUST build consensus to get things done (politicians). If you take things personally and hold grudges, if you have no tolerance for opinions different from your own, you'll get nowhere (see: Bush). If nothing else, at least Barack understands what it takes to succeed in policymaking -- a skill that all of Hillary's experience has not taught her.

And no, Diggers are not "always" hating on HRC - it's just that, when you have as many scandals as the Clintons (such as the Peter Paul fraud case against them which the MSM STILL has not yet reported on), you're bound to get negative press coverage.

She threatened to "cut his legs off (politically)" and when he decided to run for Senate in 1994, she used federal government resources to establish a "War Room" with the sole mission of seeing him fail at his senatorial bid. If you noticed, they are still referring to him as "Rep", not "Senator", so yeah, I would hold a grudge too.

The point the Senator was attempting to make is that HRC's modus operandi is to go after anyone politically who doesn't agree with her stances. She is like Bush in the sense that she insists on following the "you're with us or you're against us" mode of logic. Do you really want someone running this country that is like that for the next 4 years? I sure as hell don't. You need to compromise and work with people in politics to get anything done.

The "WE'D" is a contraction for 'we would' (be); in other words, she shot down his plan because it would have taken 5 years (until 1998) to cover all Americans and so today every American would be insured for 10 years. Instead, since she "passed it over", even fewer people have insurance than had it then because her plan failed.

As it is, most of her supporters are more Republican than Democrat. Most of them say they will vote Republican if she is not the Democrat nominee.

      GOP disklike of anything Clinton still runs strong in the ranks. With Obama they would actually have to work harder to dig up dirt and try to make McCain (who is also not popular with a significant part of the GOP) out to be the better candidate.

I just think she represents exactly what is wrong with government today. I did not like Bill Clinton as President (was too young to vote back then). I did not vote for Bush either times. I want a President I can respect and trust.

I've read countless articles about Hillary's political career and have been wanting to read a couple of books about her that I heard about. This was definitely an interesting and kind of frightening read about the political abilities of Clinton.

    Luckily it's practically impossible for her to win the nomination at this point given her huge lead and the ridiculous percentage of remaining delegates she would need to secure to get the nomination.

Its pretty clear who she cares about more, herself. If she really wanted to help the people she would pick the plan most likely to get approved and still meet the goal. she was just using the issue to make a name for herself
