Conspiracies, Nutjobs, Racism, and Ron Paul
libertymaven.com — Prior to Ron Paul entering the presidential race I was never deemed a conspiracy nut nor a racist. I was never labeled a “moonbat” nor a “something”-tard. I was just a 36 year old libertarian leaning guy who went to work every day with career ambitions and came home to my two children and wife. Things are a little different now.

- cashman57, on 05/02/2008, -9/+15http://digg.com/politics/Ron_Paul_is_Not_A_Bigot_R ... So far there has not been another candidate whose solutions make sense. The lamers and haters and political cowards here on digg have thrown everything they have at those of us who support the most qualified candidate and have ended up with nothing. All of their silly rants have been disproven and Paul is still in the race for the White House.

- Kangalanatolian, on 05/02/2008, -6/+15The above link appears broken. A basic search through this library of Ron Paul lifetime positions should quickly dispel the media slander of racism to anyone who actually cared to know: http://www.ronpaullibrary.org/search/search.php?q= ...
In short a quote: "Racism is a defect of the heart" - Ron Paul - jbenson2, on 05/02/2008, -10/+12Interesting how frequently the words nutjobs and Ron Paul appear together.
- ncurses, on 05/02/2008, -8/+13hey guys I hear that federal laws are bad but state laws are good, even if they trample your rights
- PeppermintPig, on 05/03/2008, -6/+6Drop context, and you can make whatever fantastic claim you like. Why are fed laws bad but state laws somehow good??

- ssn697, on 05/02/2008, -9/+13Is this guy taking every anti-Ron Paul comment personally. Her is how you know if you are one of the "Paultards":
Did you ever post a "Freedom is Popular" comment on Digg?
Did you ever Digg up a "Freedom is Popular!" comment?
Have you ever Dugg up a comment that said something along the lines of "If you don't support Ron Paul, you are a treasonous bastard and hate Liberty and the Constitution!" (or some such combination)?
Do you try to claim the We the People Act is supporting liberty for all?
Do you dismiss the Ron Paul newsletters, because he "didn't write them"?
Do you also dismiss the three different version of Ron Paul's story (I wrote them, taken out of context. I didn't write them, someone else did. I never even saw them) as perfectly acceptable?
If you answered yes to any of these, you are a Paultard.- PeppermintPig, on 05/03/2008, -7/+5Do you ever confuse a legitimate Paul supporter for a 'Paultard'? Do you use the word 'Paultard'? The cycle remains unbroken. :P
- chaosium, on 05/04/2008, -2/+3"Do you ever confuse a legitimate Paul supporter for a 'Paultard'?"
Not really, there are well-meaning Paul supporters, but the unquestioning use of "Freedom", "FOUNDING FATHER", "ONLY CONSTITUTION-KNOWING", "NWO" dubs someone a Paultard.

- brad3378, on 05/03/2008, -6/+4I guess that makes me a "Paultard".

Glad I took a few minutes to go back through the comments. The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem...- brad3378, on 05/04/2008, -0/+5How was Vegas?
And while I'm on the topic, what do you think of Paul's new online gambling legislation?- ssn697, on 05/05/2008, -1/+3Can I get a link to his legislation?
Vegas was great, but holy freakin *****, Montana is BEAUTIFUL. I came back to the biggest sky, the most gorgeous weather, and the best laws in the nation...
I will always live here, and vacation elsewhere ( I do love me some warm weather). - ssn697, on 05/05/2008, -1/+5I just looked it up. Once again I say, if Ron Paul could fix his 30% quality, 70% crazy, I would be with him.
" But once you make something illegal, whether it is alcohol or whether it is cigarettes or whether it is gambling on the Internet, it doesn't disappear because of this increased demand. All that happens is, it is turned over to the criminal element."
Hear hear!!!! I wish he would be just as open minded about gays, non-Christians, immigrants, and women. I wish he didn't have such over the top religious views. I wish he had a better understanding of world politics. I wish he understood the Gold Standard beyond a perfunctory level.
If this guy could have stuck with civil liberties, small government, and personal responsibility, he would have had my vote. Unfortunately, he had to throw in a whole lot of stupid, stupid *****.
