Congressman Robert Wexler on Internet Poker Legislation watch!
cardplayer.com — Good interview with congressman Robert Wexler (D-FL) on the current state of online poker in regards to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006. Wexler talks about personal liberty and about how to stand up for our rights against the big government anti-poker extremists who have chosen to force America's banks to enforce this law.

- TheEngineer2008, on 07/09/2008, -0/+9I was encouraged by Wexler's insistence that they're going to try to push legislation through committee before the August break. It sounds like everyone who cares about liberty needs to call or write to Congress over the next couple of weeks. The Poker Players Alliance has an autoletter at www.pokerplayersalliance.org/letter that you can send to Congress in less than 60 seconds. It's personalized and editable, so it doesn't show up as a form letter. Also, my blog - http://theengineer.pokerplayersalliance.org - has a ton of info on this issue.
- getjustin, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3I'm not a card player or gambler by any stretch, but I'm still astounded how poker is lumped in with games of chance and called gambling. It takes immense amounts of skill to succeed, much like golf. Coincidentally, it's about as much fun to watch as golf too.
- dj25817, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1I live in Wexler's district and I am very skeptical. I'm sure the only reason he wants to push through pro poker legislation is because he thinks he can tax it to death.
