Clinton says Obama "Can't Win"
blogs.abcnews.com — ABC News' George Stephanopoulos Reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., and former President Bill Clinton are making very direct arguments to Democratic superdelegates, starkly insisting Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., cannot win a general election against presumptive Republican nominee, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz, even though she is trailing in the polls.

- roosevans, on 04/03/2008, -14/+3Clinton may be delusional to some extent but the bottom line is the superdelegates will determine who gets the Dem nod and superdelgates are "political animals". Hilary and Obama have to win the hearts and minds of the superdelegates, so Hilary is doing what she has to do! (And in my opinion, Obama can't win against McCain. The number one issue by November will be national security, not the economy. The masses of Americans will want a President that makes them feel secure not giddy. Obama is too effeminate (and I am by no means calling him gay!) Hilary, though a woman, comes across as strong.

Yes, this is your opinion. Across the sum of all current polls there is statistically no difference between how Obama or Clinton would do up against McCain (both are tied with McCain). Once there is only 1 democratic candidate, this will change. And as Obama has more delegates and votes, he SHOULD be the candidate. Period. End of story.
"The masses of Americans will want a President that makes them feel secure not giddy"
Yeah, plunging our nation into deeper national debt and international unpopularity - not to mentioning continuing one of the stupidest wars ever for 100 years - makes ME feel safer...
The same rhetoric ***** about national security that worked for Bush isn't going to work for McCain this time around, unless if the average American really is as *****' stupid and short-sighted as the rest of the world thinks they are. In which case we deserve to be ***** (again). - actorboy, on 04/03/2008, -1/+7"...the bottom line is the superdelegates will determine who gets the Dem nod and superdelgates are 'political animals'."
And as political animals, they will surely remember that they themselves are also coming up for election and when you want to be reelected, you generally do well to follow the will of the voting majority.- Jambi, on 04/03/2008, -1/+2Also, when comparing Clinton and Obama, I'd say there's a good political case to be made that Clinton is far too polarizing to be electable. Even if not for her arrogance and generally ham-fisted way of dealing with political issues, the name "Clinton" on its own would galvanize a large percentage of the Republican base to vote when they otherwise wouldn't have.
- ZandorMonkeyBoy, on 04/03/2008, -0/+2I'll vote for Obama and against Clinton in the general election. Period.

- chdodd2012, on 04/03/2008, -0/+3Amen! The younger and minority crowd are for Obama, but the elderly win elections; this one will be no different- McCain will win. When he does, I will tirelessly make fun of all of you Obama supporters who said McCain will never win. You have harassed me for being conservative; payback will come.
- actorboy, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1The older crowd will also be gone soon. If the super delegates are smart, they will back the candidate bringing new blood into to the party, not the candidate whose tactics and divisive nature turn that new blood away. Voting Clinton would pretty much keep the Democratic Party at its current majority-minority flux for many years to come. Trust me, if the youth vote is showing up now, they will show up at the polls.

- JlmAWP, on 04/03/2008, -2/+11No Hills, it appears YOU are the one who cannot win. Not that anything any of us say matters to you one little bit. You don't fight crazy with crazy. You fight crazy with Obama.
- bullcutter, on 04/03/2008, -2/+6I think deep down Hillary knows she's lost, she's just hanging on to make Obama pay. That's the only rational explanation.
- Tenshi12, on 04/03/2008, -1/+3That would make sense, if Hillary was a rational person...
- ZandorMonkeyBoy, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1She knows that if Obama wins she can't run until 2016 and she'll be 68 years old. If She sabotages Obama and McCain wins, she can run again in 2012. The Clintons, being political animals, have done that math and prefer it.
- Tenshi12, on 04/03/2008, -1/+3That would make sense, if Hillary was a rational person...
- mattowan, on 04/03/2008, -11/+3The Clintons know that America is realizing what Hezbamas is all about and will not elect him President.
- bullcutter, on 04/03/2008, -2/+10you mean, "being honest and telling the truth"?
- Zarokima, on 04/03/2008, -1/+6"Hezbamas"? What the bloody ***** does that even mean? At least "Obamanation," "Osama," and "B. Hussein" make some kind of sense.
- matt70, on 04/03/2008, -0/+2I think this is redneck humor playing off of Hezbollah.
- mattowan, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1and Hamas. Oh, and I'm far from a redneck (though I could really go for some shrimp and grits).
- shadoweva09, on 04/03/2008, -2/+5Really, now she's flying in the face of every poll ever done on this matter?
- DiggLive, on 04/03/2008, -2/+5Obama is winning by over 800,000 votes. He's getting more supers everyday. He's rising in the PA polls and Hillary's taxes could help him overtake her lead completely. If she doesn't drop out after a loss or close win after PA, she'll get increasing pressure to drop out after she loses North Carolina. If she doesn't drop out after that, expect to see supers swarm to Obama to end this thing, if they haven't already by then.
Give it up Hillary, you can't win.- Tenshi12, on 04/03/2008, -2/+2"The polls" (not sure which ones) now have Obama beating Hillary in PA. Go get em' Obama.
- eminiguy, on 04/03/2008, -2/+5Now, imagine how delusional she is at 3 A.M ...
- AAK15, on 04/03/2008, -1/+3The phone is ringing...
- ZandorMonkeyBoy, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1It's sanity and reason calling. She can see that on the caller ID and she ain't picking up.
- matt70, on 04/03/2008, -2/+3Obama can't win. I landed under sniper fire. Bill did not have sexual relations with that woman. I opposed NAFTA. The press is picking on me. I negotiated peace in N Ireland. Obama wants to invade Pakistan. I did nothing wrong in Whitewater.
Anybody see a pattern?- atdigg, on 04/03/2008, -1/+2The difference between Bill and Hillary? At least Bill was not smiling when he was telling us lies about Monica, Hillary was all smile when he was "recounting" her landing under fire experience
- chdodd2012, on 04/03/2008, -0/+2"rocky, you can't win!"... oh *****, now obama's gonna move to russia, grow a beard, and climb a mountain and end the cold war
- uselessexpert, on 04/03/2008, -1/+3It goes to show how selfish the Clintons are. They are willing to put their ignorance and greediness ahead of the best interest of the country and the democratic party just to have a chance at the White House again.
What a pair of douche bags! They are becoming as bad as Bush!
Can't wait to see them fall flat out in their faces! - Arvaksrotas, on 04/03/2008, -4/+0She's right about Obama, but she can't win either. He is black (and white), but appears black (that's all that counts), and she's a she. Both have no respect with the American people when it comes to someone being in charge. Check out the "in charge" positions across the nation and see what you think. No "history" will be made anytime soon, only "HIS story". They both should dare America to vote with their head versus their heart. "HIS story" may change to "history".
- Zacktopia, on 04/03/2008, -4/+1We are at the tip of the iceberg with Reverend Wright and related issues. If all of it comes out, Obama will lose. His success is entirely dependent on the mainstream media continuing to shirk its responsibility to be objective and fair. How long that goes on is anyone's guess.
