Clinton creates 'whip team' to quell anti-Obama protests
politico.com — In an unusual move, Hillary Clinton's staff is creating a "whip team" at the Denver Democratic convention to ensure that her supporters don't engage in embarrassing anti-Obama demonstrations during the floor vote on her nomination, according to people familiar with the planning.

- DTJunkie07, on 08/21/2008, -0/+4How can this be? Does Hillary still have a chance to become the dems candidate for the presidency?
- IVillageIdiot, on 08/21/2008, -0/+1Oh yes... she does...
Once her name has been placed into nomination, she'll have as equal a chance as anyone else in nomination. They've convinced Obama's people that it's simply for the purposes of demonstrating solidarity and it would symbolize something for her supporters, but once made it's a real nomination.
This little squad of thugs was formed with the "stated" purpose of keeping her own in line, what happens if it starts to look like she has 51% or more?? She'll have ALL the tools in place for switching that purpose to whatever she tells them to do...
ONE QUESTION: If, something was to come out about Obama, say an issue which invalidated his candidacy, and that was floated at the convention using a dedicated and trustworthy group of supporters, would the tide turn in favor of a candidate that HAD NO SUCH ISSUE??? If that candidate was duly placed in nomination, and had nearly a majority of the delegates, and that candidate has wanted this FOREVER, and that candidate was Hilary Rodman-Clinton, would she demure and say "No thanks, this belongs to Obama. He won it fair and square." … or would she take it?? - nixfu, on 08/22/2008, -1/+1Better hope so....Obama is TANKING FAST
- IVillageIdiot, on 08/21/2008, -0/+1Oh yes... she does...
- smittie, on 08/21/2008, -2/+5I'll get dugg down for this but...
I have to wonder how many people would like to change their mind and have Hillary Clinton as the Democratic candidate? - mathewsj, on 08/21/2008, -0/+2truly the Democrat way, whips i.e. physical thugs to arm twist and threaten delegates to vote the instructed way. does anyone else see a problem with this??
- SydBloom, on 08/21/2008, -1/+2The Stalinists continue to expose themselves. "Whip teams"..i.e.; Stazi, Secret Police, Storm Troopers, Thugs, Union Mob Enforcers, Elite Guard, etc, etc...Liberalism kills.
- kdawg1012, on 08/21/2008, -1/+1Poor choice of words - but the idea is good.
- IVillageIdiot, on 08/21/2008, -0/+2Will they be wearing the Jack Boots, or is that just implied???!?!??! I wonder if they’ll be issues saps???
Evita does not care who or what gets in her way... Law, no problem; Dem rules, no problem; ethics, certainly no problem...
If you let her, she is going to grab for power Monday night and this little "Whipping Squad" of thugs, once organized, may not be limited to JUST quelling Obama protestors... it may morph into something altogether different once her nomination has been made. They're just calling it Pro-Obama while it's being formed and the planning is being laid....
THIS... is "Pro-Obama" in the same way a Sniper puts on face paint..... - solboldi, on 08/22/2008, -0/+1The whip team and the cage...sounds like an S & M convention.
- LoneRanger85, on 08/23/2008, -1/+1This is nothing new. Pro-life Democrats (yes, they exist) can tell you stories about being pinched, punched and pushed off the floor of conventions.
