Gold and silver can be a good hedge against economic volatility as long as you're not doing a leveraged trade. http://www.monexfraud.com You may wish to invest in the gold ETF (GLD) or the silver ETF (SLV) in a non-margin account. This is the least expensive way to invest. If you feel a need to to take delivery of your metals be extra cautious about who you buy from. - ligyron, on 06/02/2008, -8/+30A black man and a woman are the top runners for president right now. No matter what happens, this is an historical moment for America and you should all stop bickering so much and show some respect for the nominees and each other
- zyklon, on 06/02/2008, -3/+35Don't forget about the old guy.
- sublingo, on 06/02/2008, -0/+23Old guys have had their shot, it's always the same result.
- john2kx, on 06/02/2008, -12/+10Absolutely.. Because diversity is exclusively defined by race and gender. Character is overrated, anyway.
- ligyron, on 06/02/2008, -5/+11Perhaps you should put down your celebrity gossip magazine and briefly educate yourself on some American history
- theOster, on 06/02/2008, -3/+3welcome to teh US political scene
- unreg, on 06/02/2008, -0/+6That was a stunningly stupid statement Oster
- john2kx, on 06/03/2008, -1/+1maybe I should have used the [/sarcasm] tag?
- Fafnir43, on 06/02/2008, -0/+14The problems with that argument are threefold:
1) Hillary, right now, is completely and utterly unelectable. If she gets the nomination, McCain gets in. That's quite a good reason to bicker.
2) Over the last few weeks, Hillary has been applying every scorched-earth tactic in the book, right down to accusing Obama voters of sexism, to discredit Obama and try to reduce his chances. She has been doing this apparently with the sole intent of weakening his position with the superdelegates, and trying to trigger a massive schism that would tear the party apart. At some point, the "Yay! First female president!" factor has to take a back seat to "Oh no! A douchebag president! Again!" factor.
3) The effect of a minority president on the manner in which that minority is viewed will be largely dependent on what sort of legacy they leave. If Hillary gets in and does badly, expect it to be a long time before the next female president is elected. Vote for a competent female president over a competent male president, by all means, but whatever you do don't vote for an incompetent female president over a competent male president or the effects will stay with you for a very long time. In other words, historic moments require historic candidates. (All this applies to Obama as well, of course, but he seems to be a considerably better candidate than HIllary.)- unreg, on 06/03/2008, -14/+2McCain gets in either way. Obama is going to get schooled when it comes to foreign policy and actual experience.
- supermanred, on 06/03/2008, -2/+51) She's fighting for that exact reason. The Bush/Clinton families don't want to see Obama in charge. He might restore the freedoms they worked so ***** hard to take away from the people to help them with their plans for the future.
2) Agreed.
3) The US needs a brown skinned President now more than ever. They need to know that bombing brown people isn't right, no matter how much oil you get out of it...and seeing their brown President on TV every day will remind them of that.
4) ***** Im stoned, I hope any of that made sense. - Jasmine42, on 06/03/2008, -6/+1Wow...that is a great argument. I may vote republican for the first time ever in this election. Not that I particularly like McCain or his policy on the war, but he may be the best candidate.
- solistus, on 06/03/2008, -1/+4unreg: given the current popularity of the War in Iraq (hint: not so hot) and Obama and McCain's relative stances on it, I think it's pretty funny that you think McCain has an edge in foreign policy.
As for experience, isn't there a limit to how many times you can mix up Sunni and Shi'a, be unsure about your own policy positions ("I... I think I've taken a stance on this... Ask my staffers"), etc. and still claim experience? Dick Cheney had one of the longest resumes in Washington, which is probably why he picked himself to be Bush's VP candidate, and we all know how wonderfully that turned out.
Maybe we're all naive, but many of us are starting to wonder if maybe being right on the issues is more important than how many years you've been in government. Just maybe.
- mikeyeah, on 06/03/2008, -1/+3Respect? For Hillary? Are you serious? After the "Rove-style" campaign she has run, she'll get no respect from me.

"Senior Clinton campaign aides privy to the construction of tomorrow night's election night celebration in New York insist that Sen. Clinton will not use the occasion to drop out of the race.
They project that Clinton will do better than expected in South Dakota, losing by a margin of less than ten points; they project a sizable loss in Montana.
Meanwhile, NBC News reports Bill Clinton, "acknowledging the campaign's likely fate," said in South Dakota that "this may be the last day I'm ever involved in a campaign of this kind."
Mr. Clinton, aides said, was referring to the end of the primary season -- there are no remaining places for him to campaign for his wife -- and did not attempt to foreshadow her departure."

- Laminarcissus, on 06/02/2008, -18/+3Sorry, I'm with you, but you're kidding yourself.
This wasn't spontaneous, and the last thing the Michigan and Florida meeting was about was Michigan and Florida.
That meeting was about Hillary putting on her scary serious face, the Monica Lewinsky face, and saying to the whole party, "I'm going to win in Puerto Rico, and I could easily bow out on that high note. Or, I could easily take this all the way to the convention. What do I get if I end it now?"
And "get" not in a Howard Dean Chairman role, but real power.
Forget about 2012 unless McCain wins, no party allows a candidate against a sitting President no matter how horrifying he might be. Forget about Vice President, I'm sure she doesn't want it.
There's only one source of power in politics, and that's money. So expect that for the next eight years not a single fundraising action is taken or a Democratic dollar is spent without her smiling face attached. *Every* sitting Democratic Congressman in the next 8 years will be beholden in some way to her. She will personally see that she decides at the district level which candidates are chosen and which are funded.
Then, welcome Hillary to the White House in 2016. You may not like it, she may make everyone uncomfortable, or even have turned into partially-insane, un-hygienic anti-semite, but there won't be a damn thing you or God will be able to do about it.
She didn't win, but she almost won, and in politics that's can sometimes be even better.- neonoodle, on 06/02/2008, -1/+3Did Nostradamus predict all of this? Because as of less than a year ago, Hillary was sure to be the chosen candidate for the Democratic party and nobody could have predicted what has happened since then. Now you're predicting stuff that's gonna happen in 2016? Sure, sure, keep on predicting.
- Laminarcissus, on 06/02/2008, -1/+2So your point is that my predictions on the actions of a single person over the next eight years might have a questionable confidence level?
I had sort of figured people would assume that. And assume that what I wrote was more in the opinion vein since, as you say, it takes place in the future. And assume that Nostradomus would really be more of a Twitter man.
Rather than debate the Space/Time Continuum, however, you're welcome to specifically discuss my premises, or accept the premises and discuss the conclusions, or maybe even have another look and decide you agree after all.
- Laminarcissus, on 06/02/2008, -1/+2So your point is that my predictions on the actions of a single person over the next eight years might have a questionable confidence level?
- Fafnir43, on 06/02/2008, -1/+1If that is indeed what happened, I don't think anyone is really going to have a problem with stabbing her in the back over and over and over again come 2016 (except Lieberman) - a deal made at gunpoint is no deal at all.
- Laminarcissus, on 06/02/2008, -0/+2Stabbing her in the back? These deals aren't made on trust, they're made on money. You can't stab someone in the back if you need something from them, ask Robert Moses or any political power broker.
There are currently 17,364,667 people who think she should have been the nominee. Do you think she doesn't know how to use that base? HC was second only to Nancy Pelosi in general (non-Presidential-campaign) fund-raising during the Bush administration, and that was before 17,364,667 people pulled a lever for her.
And how do you think Nancy Pelosi got to be Speaker? Her winning smile and gripping intellect? She was the top fundraiser for Democratic campaigns, to the tune of 100 million dollars. That money gets invested into local campaigns and nearly everybody with a (D) next to their name is beholden to her.
This is how it works, I didn't make it up, and this isn't even the complicated part. One Obama supporter to another here: We're the ones who kept calling her a scheming, manipulative, bitch. What did you think -- after coming in a close second, with a difference in the popular vote of 0.1 percent, she was just going to go home like a whipped dog?
All the reasons you didn't vote for her are all the reasons why she won't.
- Laminarcissus, on 06/02/2008, -0/+2Stabbing her in the back? These deals aren't made on trust, they're made on money. You can't stab someone in the back if you need something from them, ask Robert Moses or any political power broker.
- theone3, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2I think the Democratic party may have learned something about fundraising from Obama here - Crowds have money too.
- neonoodle, on 06/02/2008, -1/+3Did Nostradamus predict all of this? - onesam, on 06/02/2008, -3/+11While I appreciate the sentiment, I'm not sure that this is the freedom Dr King had in mind when he gave that speech. Pity to trivialize his powerful words with... Hillary!
- squamben15, on 06/03/2008, -2/+9are we seriously comparing the plight of Blacks in the racist south to Hilary Clinton running for president?
you stay classy, Digg.- xBDVx, on 06/03/2008, -4/+2Um...considering Obama is black and could very well become president at this point, I'd say it's quite the fair use of this phrase.

- xBDVx, on 06/03/2008, -4/+2Um...considering Obama is black and could very well become president at this point, I'd say it's quite the fair use of this phrase.
- LoveYouSomeEric, on 06/03/2008, -3/+8I certainly meant no disrespect to Dr. King. I was trying to be both funny and serious, and sometimes that is lost on people. Using what might be King's most well known soundbite in this specific context was meant to get a chuckle. We may all finally be free from having to worry about Hillary winning the election, and that would make a lot of us very happy. On the other hand, I was very consciously referencing the fact that, as xBDVx pointed out, Barack Obama is black. And here we are, not 50 years after King's assassination, and it is now possible, even likely, that our next president will be a black man - a possibility that in King's lifetime would have been laughable. We have come a long way as a nation and we have a lot farther to go, but I think that Dr. King would be very pleased with the direction this election is heading.
- dafunkmonster, on 06/03/2008, -4/+2Nice try. Your first comment was still tasteless.
- squamben15, on 06/03/2008, -3/+1I know that you meant no disrespect to Dr. King, and I also think that Dr. King would be excited with the democratic nominee (I know i am)
but it de-legitimizes the struggle that Blacks went through during the civil rights movement when you compare it with how we "struggled" through the Clinton candidacy. - Reaper2806, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2Slightly dramatic, but IF it's over, I'm glad it's over too. However, I'm waiting untill she says the words "I am withdrawing from the race for nomination of the Democratic Party".

- DrBeaverhausen, on 06/02/2008, -0/+5I just have two things to say. The first is to reference an SNL sketch where she says she'll still be running when Obama gets sworn in. And the second is amen.
- fakeplasticsnow, on 06/03/2008, -1/+4Listen: According to someone I know who works for the Clinton campaign, she is supposed to drop out tomorrow. She has already made this agreement with Obama. She will endorse him and he will help her raise money to pay her debt. She will not be Vice President, but she may have a smaller role in his cabinet.
I really hope this is true, although I somehow doubt it. - speakerfordead, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1Same here!

- jbdobd, on 06/02/2008, -11/+327I don't believe it, either. Hillary has no exit strategy. I wouldn't be surprised if her "celebration" tomorrow night ends up being her in front of a "Mission Accomplished" banner saying "stay the course"...
- LoveYouSomeEric, on 06/02/2008, -1/+35Actually that would almost make me happier than her dropping out. Nothing beats great comedy.
- darrenprog, on 06/02/2008, -7/+5I'm sorry, but that quote is reserved for really clueless people.
Oh, way ... - Kautylia, on 06/02/2008, -0/+3It's obvious that she just wanted to stay in until the last primary. Ultimately, this is both good and bad. For the bad, it divided the democratic party at least temporarily and gave a bit of a lead to John McCain (which honestly he hasn't done much with). For the good, people in all the post-Super Tuesday states finally feel like they had some say, and Obama got to show himself in all the swing states. There might have been more going in Hillary's head than most people think; wouldn't that be something.
- Naieve, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2She has an exit strategy.

- tcbishop12, on 06/02/2008, -8/+127If indeed, she is conceding, you can be sure of this: Hillary is looking out for Hillary in 2012 and will still try to put an asterisk by Sen. Obama's nomination -- suggesting, as her campaign already has, that she is the better candidate, that Sen. Obama's nomination is somehow illegitimate and (falsely claiming) that she is the rightful winner of the nomination by virtue of the popular vote (and the other sabotaging meme, shades of McGovern '72 -- that no nominee who lost the popular primary vote was successful in the general election).
I hope that I am wrong, but having come to know just how low Hillary can go, I don't think so. Hillary is only looking out for Hillary, and not for the good of the Democratic party - and certainly not about what's best for Obama's election in the general this year.- MaxPayne3476, on 06/02/2008, -1/+12I think she fought a hard race to the end. Historically, if you lose the presidential race, it's over for your chances of becoming President later. She's probably make a move for it, but don't expect anywhere near the motivation that she had this go around. She played a dirty race and it bit her in the ass in the end.
- kanabiis, on 06/02/2008, -0/+13Historically? You must have been sleeping in 2000...

In case you didn't notice, McCain is now the Republican nominee and has a chance to be
the President.... - piper999, on 06/02/2008, -0/+4You were correct up to the bit where you said "has a chance to be the President".
- kanabiis, on 06/02/2008, -3/+4Because you can tell the future right?
Look, I'm no McCain supporter, but to suggest that McCain has no chance of becoming the President sounds just like all the Kerry supporters who said that Bush had no chance of reelection. We all remember how that turned out.....
So, yes, McCain has a chance of becoming President, more of a chance then You, me, and 300 million other Americans.... and until he is NOT elected, is correct. - Stroggoth, on 06/02/2008, -1/+6McCain has a very real chance of winning (even though I hate him) because a certain percent of voters hate Obama, and a certain percent hate Clinton. There is a strong possibility (as shown in polling) that people will move from Clinton to McCain if she drops out, and a certain number from Obama to McCain, rather than intra-party.
This is a horrible situation for us Democrats, and I blame Clinton.

Furthermore I hope she goes MORE into debt. I hope the people she owes money to are able to sue her personally and get it back from Her personal fortune. I hope she loses her Senate seat. I hope she goes broke and is forced to move to West Virgina and hunt for her food with with her hard working white American supporters. - engunneer, on 06/02/2008, -1/+5All this talk about Hillary 2012 implies that Barack will not win in 2008, or that he will win but won't go for a second term. Maybe she should be planning for Hillary 2016.
All the Clinton Supporters who claim they will vote for McCain are really not making any sense to me. If they really cared about the issues, they would see that Obama is similar to Clinton on most issues (Though there are glaring distinctions). McCain and Clinton barely line up at all!- mysedai, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1Hasn't Hillary already reached the age where she's stopped buying green bananas? I mean, can she even plan to be alive in 2016?
- winampman2, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1"If they really cared about the issues, they would see that Obama is similar to Clinton on most issues."
Yeah. They don't care. Some of them don't want to see a black man as President (for whatever reason), and others believe she's winning the popular vote. Most of them are just voting for the Clinton™ brand name, because they're too lazy to read anything about Obama. They also believe her lies (exaggerations) about having more experience, and they also believe Obama is completely unqualified for the job.
Somebody needs to wake them up to the truth.

- Sinaca, on 06/02/2008, -12/+254Obama won't win without all the Democrats behind him. And, truth be told, she made Obama a better candidate for November because of the tough fight HRC put up.
Kicking HRC and her supporters as they wrap this up is 1) politically stupid, 2) not the kind of politics Obama is trying to inspire and 3) mean-spirited.
After tomorrow, how about shaking some HRC supporter's hands, congratulate them on a hard-fought democratic contest, and invite them into the fold to make this country a better place by electing Obama as the next President of the United States.- carpespasm, on 06/02/2008, -0/+14That's actually what he's been doing for the past few days. That and gearing up to go after McCain.

- ngmcs8203, on 06/02/2008, -5/+6You mean not all HRC supporters are screaming "Denver!" until they're blue in the face? After what I saw at the DNC meeting, I could have sworn the majority of them are lunatics that would never vote for a black male, even if their messiah asks them to.
//sarcasm
Why do you automatically assume every Obama supporter would kick an HRC supporter when they're down?- Sinaca, on 06/02/2008, -0/+6Words matter - including words that you put in someone else's mouth. Like your use of the word "every" above. I never said anything about "every Obama supporter."
And believing that everyone who prefers Hillary over Obama -- and protested the DNC meeting -- is a racist is as ignorant as assuming that everyone who prefers Obama is sexist.
To win in November the Democrats have to ratchet down the Obama vs. Hillary rhetoric and focus on McCain.
I've had my own choice words for HRC over the past months (and an Obama sticker on my car long before Super Tuesday). I want the man to be President more than anything I've wanted in a long time.
If that means taking the first step to reach out to HRC supporters then I'm glad to do it.- winampman2, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1Youre a good Democrat.
Sadly, a lot of Hillary supporters aren't going to take your hand if you reach out to them. They're more likely to spit in your face.

- sovereign3, on 06/02/2008, -10/+4The truth is, Clinton's long-winded campaign probably saved the Obama campaign. Had Clinton dropped out when everyone claimed it was over, Obama would have suffered embarrassing losses in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Puerto Rico, and Kentucky. Those significant losses, when a candidate is already "declared" a winner, would have weakened Obama and would have made him appear to have a weak base of support.
Thanks to Clinton staying in the race, it gave a Obama a convenient proxy to explain his losses. Those states were not demographically favorable for him and he sure would have lost those in any case. Clinton did Obama a favor by refusing to drop out when everyone told her it was over.- sulthernao, on 06/02/2008, -0/+7He would have lost in WV an KY, to be sure, but the rest just isn't true.
- antipoet, on 06/02/2008, -0/+2Honestly, I'm surprised at the amount of support she was able to retain throughout. If she had dropped out at any point, I would have been shocked to see the same people turning out in droves to vote for her.
- Fafnir43, on 06/02/2008, -0/+2Wrong. She had an extremely good reason to stick it out for West Virginia and Kentucky (and /possibly/ the others, but I'm not convinced), and if that was all she'd done then I would be happy. Unfortunately, she didn't just stick it out, she started campaigning even more negatively than she had been before. And she milked the Florida-Michigan thing for all it was worth, rather than working out a quick compromise behind the scenes. This is not the behaviour of someone trying to help Obama in the general.
- mysedai, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1I think if she helped him it was unwittingly done.
- mnemy, on 06/02/2008, -3/+2You obviously haven't been listening to the fanatic hilary supporters that have fallen for the smear tactics so completely that they're going to vote for McCain instead.
- chaosblade77, on 06/02/2008, -1/+2I'm pretty sure that's just a (very vocal) minority. If she endorses Obama, most Clinton supporters will also go with Obama rather than McCain. It's pretty funny that those are always the ones that end up in the news though.
- winampman2, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1I'm sure a majority will vote for Obama. But if 20% of Hillary's supporters (the crazy ones) vote for McCain... that's 3.4 million votes. (17million x 20%)
That may be enough for McCain.
- winampman2, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1I'm sure a majority will vote for Obama. But if 20% of Hillary's supporters (the crazy ones) vote for McCain... that's 3.4 million votes. (17million x 20%)

- TsuruchiBrian, on 06/02/2008, -4/+4She did make Obama stronger by attacking him.
Just like I am helping to make Hillary supporters stronger by calling her a liar and a crook every chance I get. If Hillary had won the nomination, I would have been rooting for John McCain in November as well. At least McCain is old and likely to die soon. If Hillary won, we would likely have to spend at least another 4 years with her in charge (possibly 8). If McCain wins, I don't think we need to survive more than6 months or a year tops.- winampman2, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1So, 6 months of McCain? ...and 3.5 years of McCain's VP? That's not a good thing either. Let's just make sure the Republicans don't win, k?
- TsuruchiBrian, on 06/04/2008, -0/+1It looks like Obama is going to win, so it doesn't matter anymore. But I would take just about any Republican McCain would choose as a VP over Hillary.
I might even want McCain to win if Obama chooses Hillary as his VP.

- skteoievtehr, on 06/03/2008, -0/+6A weak candidate? He just beat ***** Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination. An unknown senator from Illinois with a funny name just won a major party nomination in the United States against the wife of a popular former President, who was slated to win from the start and has been running on 16 years of name recognition. - DrBeaverhausen, on 06/02/2008, -1/+5I live in SD and am an Obama supporter. I had some HRC supporters come to my door Saturday. Our exchange was very polite. I told them that I supported Obama and wished them a good day, I even shook ones hand as they left. The other refused I might add.
- Naieve, on 06/03/2008, -0/+5I don't think its the Obama people you have to worry about.
I think you might want to talk to the Hillary supporters about shaking hands.
Because they sound like what most people call Republicans.
"I'll never vote for a black man." "He stole it from her..." "He's really a muslim..."
Those are some of the nicer comments I've heard from Hillary supporters lately.
When I try to explain reality to them, they look at me like I'm insane.- supermanred, on 06/03/2008, -0/+4There is NO difference between the Republican and Democratic parties. The education and awareness level is so low now in the States that they don't even bother to establish differences in policy. Look at what the Democrats have done since taking over Congress. Look at all the freedoms they restored to Americans (0)...Look at how quickly they brought the troops back from the Disastra-***** Nazi Hitlerfest that is Iraq (they haven't)... they are the same party, essentially and especially in the Bush / Clinton circle of friends. They sit at dinner together, they go golfing together, hell, Bush sr and Clinton even go on vacations together... seriously.
- winampman2, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2Not much difference between Bush and Clinton? Probably. But there IS a difference between Obama and the Clintons.
- Jasmine42, on 06/03/2008, -1/+0Why is it that if people don't support Obama and choose to support Hillary that they will "never vote for a black man". Perhaps they don't think he is the right one or perhaps think that a few more years of experience would suit him to make a great president. Or maybe they have read some of his policies and don't agree with them. Whatever the reason, nobody should be playing the "victim" card and should Obama ever play the "I'm black" victim card, is certainly the day that I will stop supporting him. Young voters and black voters have entered there votes in record numbers, bringing may "black voters" out to vote for a "black man". Just as Hillary has brought "women" voters out to cast their vote for a "female president". Although many women already voted. Obama inspired people to start voting. But why? Why did they even listen the first time to this election? Was it because for the first time they saw a "black man" running for office. Was this their first inspiration to listen to what was being said? I don't know. They may not know. But in the long run I just want to see the "race/gender" cards put away and hope that people take the time to look at the policies being presented. Not just the speeches written by speech writers. Every politician lies, cheats, steals, and other wise does what it takes to win...while trying to look like the good guy. Call me cynical but he may just be better at that than she is. The problem comes in that nobody really knows what any of the three of them will do once in office....well other than I am fairly confident the McCain will sustain the war efforts in Iraq as long as possible.

- TheNotoriousBIG, on 06/03/2008, -1/+4This comment should really be the most dugg of this story.
- Stormwern, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1She did not help him, made millions believe he's a nobody though she knows it's not true better than anyone.
- martoq, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1Have you ever found an HRC supporter that could have a civil conversation with you with out spitting out sound bites and rhetoric?
- carpespasm, on 06/02/2008, -0/+14That's actually what he's been doing for the past few days. That and gearing up to go after McCain.
- ThePwnyExpress, on 06/02/2008, -8/+8honestly, i don't see this happening until wed or thrurs sometime.
- jrivera64, on 06/02/2008, -9/+30...and not a moment too soon.
Hillary lost fair and square, there is no shame in losing to a better candidate like Obama.
We look forward to a united DEM party and begin the De-Neoconization of the America.- PolishLogic, on 06/02/2008, -17/+3Yes, because with a such a close split in delegates, and a primary race that has seen an amazing amount of mudslinging between camps and supporters alike, the Democratic party appears soooo unified at the moment.
- Xihix, on 06/02/2008, -9/+3... and initiate the social liberalizing?
- xtinamo, on 06/02/2008, -0/+3^liberation!
- IslandDog, on 06/02/2008, -3/+1More like Marxism.
- PolishLogic, on 06/02/2008, -1/+28Not for nothing, but they said this prior to her last "major speech".
- tyywebb, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1For anything then?
- Stormwern, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1She's given a major speech?
- Hillsfar, on 06/02/2008, -7/+24BUT WAIT! Hillary! We need you! Don't you have some last-ditch dirty trick to try?!? Don't you have one last divisive smear to apply?!? Don't you want to force Obama to give you a spot on the ticket as VICE President?
PLEASE, if anything, you'll disappoint us if you DROP OUT NOW! We'll actually think you've got some underlying sense of decency and loyalty to the Democratic Party!- Fafnir43, on 06/02/2008, -0/+4Don't be silly. The moment for that has passed, at least for most of us. We'll think party insiders have threatened her Senate seat if she doesn't drop out, or that some secret plan to steal the nomination from under Obama's nose has just failed.
- TonyStark, on 06/02/2008, -4/+7I will believe it when I see the speech and read the transcript.
- xaxxon, on 06/02/2008, -0/+3I'll believe it in Denver.

- brandonchicago, on 06/02/2008, -6/+115One of two things is going to happen:
1. She exits gracefully and begins the process of helping heal the Democratic Party.
2. She will announce the formation of the "Hillary Succubus Party" and appoint herself as Supreme Ruler of the Underlings.- supermanred, on 06/03/2008, -0/+31. Not going to happen. It's too late for graceful. She's in sore loser territory now.
2. She cannot form a Succubus Party as she is currently a member of the New World Order, led by Bush Sr and Dick Cheney. She would lose her spot in the cave where they all sleep upside down. She would also lose the coffin she sleeps in at home when she isn't at the New World Order cave taking orders from Cheney. Vampires I tell you! Vampires!! - TheMime, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1Hopefully the latter. That would be ***** awesome.

- JoeVet, on 06/02/2008, -1/+2This particular nightmare is just beginning. It doesn't end until November. When the GOP convention ends the real mudslinging will begin.
- Fafnir43, on 06/02/2008, -0/+2Yes, but when the Republicans are doing the mudslinging we're allowed to fight back.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/06/cl ...- dn11, on 06/02/2008, -1/+7Everyone is talking out of both sides of their mouth right now. but the fact that Hillary is telling a lot of her staff "your services are no longer required" says a lot. Even Bill is sounding a bit like it is over
http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/news/politics/blog ...
Remember how Romney was "in it to win it" until the next day when he quit? Most candidates go out that way. - Aadain, on 06/02/2008, -2/+4CRAAAAAAAAAAAP
- mimigins, on 06/02/2008, -1/+3auuuughhhh whaaaaaat
why can't it just be over? - f201, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1They have to keep up appearances, since if she confirmed she was dropping out, her support in the primaries would drop considerably, and she wants as much political capital as she can get.
- mrASSMAN, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1Color me surprised.
- winampman2, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1Well, none of her people are going to say "Yeah, she'll leave soon". They aren't the ones making the decision. They just regurgitate what they're told, which is "She'll never give up". So unless Hillary or one of her main advisers says she's going to stay in, don't believe it.
- pb125, on 06/03/2008, -0/+0Well it's rather obvious her spokespeople are forced to deny a drop out, considering there are two primaries tomorrow. Hinting to the public that she is going to drop out would be pretty damaging to the outcome of tomorrow's voting.
Either way... i keep my fingers crossed.
- dn11, on 06/02/2008, -1/+7Everyone is talking out of both sides of their mouth right now. but the fact that Hillary is telling a lot of her staff "your services are no longer required" says a lot. Even Bill is sounding a bit like it is over

- DeePsix501, on 06/02/2008, -7/+3I wonder if she will not drop out and announce something crazy like going all the way or running as an independant. Reminds me of this recent Dugg movie:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAu39I5QOUc- xaxxon, on 06/02/2008, -0/+1If she runs as an independent, then she's giving the next 4 years to mccain and hoping for 2012.
- Jovensdesciple, on 06/02/2008, -25/+5You wish diggers. It's incredible how gullible you obamabots are, each day your lies get stinkier than the last. Hillary will never drop out because she is a winner. She's genetically different baby, and not in a messed up obama sort of way. She's a ***** winner and you diggers know it.
- Remmiz, on 06/02/2008, -0/+8haha Brucie is probably the best character from GTA4
- silent7seven, on 06/02/2008, -1/+2"Winner" and "20 million in the toilet", that's a bit tough to pull off.
- vision777, on 06/02/2008, -3/+44I heard Obama called her a couple days ago. Hope he didn't offer her the VP postion to quit.
- TremorX, on 06/02/2008, -1/+69He was just calling to ask if her refrigerator was still running, and if so maybe it should concede
- john2kx, on 06/02/2008, -13/+1what
- Flashypoo, on 06/02/2008, -0/+14Dugg for awesome.
- miraimatt, on 06/03/2008, -0/+5I wish I could dig you up five times. This is the first thing I have literally "lol'd" at in digg comments in a long time.
- mrASSMAN, on 06/03/2008, -1/+3God Dammit that was so much more nuanced and perfect than I could have ever fathomed within my own puny *****-stained mind.
Rainbows of joy struck forth from my body's various orifices. - MOates, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1Good form sir, good form.
- Fafnir43, on 06/02/2008, -3/+4Nah, doing that would anger his supporters too much and he knows it. He's probably just going to help her pay her campaign debts.
- boner79, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2And that's not going to anger his supporters? I'm sure all those Obama donors want their money going towards paying Hillary back for wasting their time and giving McCain ammunition these past few months. The $12 million or so the Clintons loaned and lost in this campaign seems to me a fair price to pay for their futile attempts to hijack the nomination.
- supermanred, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1I spit popcorn out my mouth, had to cough some of it out violently. You almost killed me with your comment... Oh well, ***** it if you gotta go, go with a smile.
FUNNIEST COMMENT EVER.
- heyreputah, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2It would be illogical to think Obama would offer her VP because her "persistence" (to put it politely) has cost the Dems so many voters to McCain.
- TremorX, on 06/02/2008, -1/+69He was just calling to ask if her refrigerator was still running, and if so maybe it should concede
- junkwheel, on 06/02/2008, -2/+9She could go a fair way to sort her image out by saying she made some real mistakes in this campaign that she regrets and not back Obama half-assed, throw complete support behind him, saying how good of a competitor he was, that he does completely deserve the nomination, and that a vote for McCain is a vote for George Bush, possibly until 2016.
What's the chances?
Slim. But it would do a whooooooleeeee lot of good to her image. She can do so much with her exit speech. - greywren, on 06/02/2008, -6/+15Wrong about dropping out. Digg is slow.

- Barackalypse, on 06/02/2008, -5/+17She's just doing it to establish an alibi in case anything happens to Barack that evening.
- ssn697, on 06/02/2008, -5/+36Buried as inaccurate. She is bringing everyone together t olet them know she is going to fight this all the way to the convention, and even longer, if she goes to court over the MI and FL votes.
Hillary cares about nothing but Hillary. This was her destiny, and she will not be denied (in her mind, at least). - faizal5k, on 06/02/2008, -7/+8Man, that would be awesome...but Clinton won't be dropping out tommorrow :(
http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2008/06/02/politics/f ...
who gives a *****. Obama's gonna win anyway. - ThatGeek, on 06/02/2008, -1/+4i wouldnt be surprised if she tries to go all ross perot on us to split up the democratic party just so mccain wins
- rushjaycarr, on 06/02/2008, -18/+1OK...not that I support Obama here (the candidates this year all suck balls), but I'm gonna be SO glad 2 see her gone. I mean HONESTLY! She is the bitchyest of the bitchy! Also on the plus side she has thrown so much mud and made so many enemies this race that she will (hopefully) never get another nomination. THE REIGN OF THE BITCH IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- chaosblade77, on 06/02/2008, -0/+0I dunno... Obama looks pretty darn good when looking back at John Kerry/George Bush.

That, or she's announcing she's going to put some really cool decals on her campaign bus. Either way, American wins! - rmxz, on 06/02/2008, -1/+7Perhaps she'll announce she's running as an Independent with Joe Lieberman.
- soulkitchen, on 06/02/2008, -0/+4Thats going to be tough with Lieberman on the McCain ticket.
- EtherGnat, on 06/02/2008, -0/+5Maybe they'll do it as a three way. Let that image sizzle into your brain before you bury me.
- plimpton777, on 06/03/2008, -0/+4A Hillary sandwich...maybe I can tie that into my "Aristocrats" bit.
- EtherGnat, on 06/02/2008, -0/+5Maybe they'll do it as a three way. Let that image sizzle into your brain before you bury me.
- soulkitchen, on 06/02/2008, -0/+4Thats going to be tough with Lieberman on the McCain ticket.
- Paramnesia, on 06/02/2008, -2/+4If she quits tomorrow she may yet be able salvage some dignity and respect.
I mean that boat did sail awhile ago but I'm pretty sure the captain will come back to pick her ass up out of disbelief.- Quidam, on 06/02/2008, -1/+1Salvage some dignity and respect? Please. She passed that point ages ago. She knows she HAS to drop out because it's the last primary. Assuming that she leaves tomorrow, she's waited all the way to the very end which was completely unnecessary. She wasted so much time lying and hyping up that pointless DNC rules committee meeting for nothing. All she's done is divide the Democratic party. She has no dignity and she doesn't give a ***** about her party.
- shutthefrntdoor, on 06/02/2008, -7/+1The day we have been waiting for! But, when you read this, was your first thought, "What is she up to now?"
She needs a new man to pay her bills cause her Bill ain't payin' for nothing new! - CrackyJSquirrel, on 06/02/2008, -1/+1Yeah right.. if it is, I will be shocked.
- ASSASSYN360, on 06/02/2008, -8/+1She should quit her campaign and kneel before the rule of OBAMA 08, and pledge her full allegiance as my fellow Obamanites and I have!
- Lazydriver, on 06/02/2008, -2/+2You should kneel to my foot on your ass.
