nytimes.com — On what was probably one of the toughest days of her campaign so far, with pundits and analysts of all stripes declaring her presidential candidacy finished, Mrs. Clinton put on her battle face Wednesday and confronted what was at times a hostile crowd at a hastily arranged speech here at Shepherd University.

I am encouraged to see a ton of people passionately advocating their viewpoints, but showing respect to your opponent (even if you disagree strongly) is the most productive way to go. I'm not saying a few boos is the worst thing in the world, but it makes me fearful that people will get more extreme and disrespectful in the days to come. If you oppose people because they use extreme and misleading tactics you must be careful not to become extreme in your own thinking.

When someone removes themselves from the public to the point where a "boo" is the only chance we have of actually making our opinions known to someone who's supposed to be representing us, they deserve it. The US became great when politicians were held accountable to the voice of the people. Now it's drowned out by the various interests they court instead. If a politician is spouting platitudes and *****, good for the public if they decide to actually demand more.

She should be looking out for the good of the entire democratic party, but she isn't anymore, and anything that will get her to quit sooner is good.

If she would have bowed out a few months ago, like she should have, she would have maintained some respect from democrats, especially. As it stands, people have this view of her being power hungry, overly ambitious and a bit out touch with reality, I'm afraid.
    It kind of sucks because I think she could have earned a lot of respect and support had she not been so ambitious and eager. I would at least still had some respect for her and may have considered voting for her in the future. As it stands, I don't ever see me casting a vote for this woman. And I've lost much of the respect I had for Bill.
    Such is the tragedy of Ambition. Ask Lady Macbeth and Julius Caesar about how too much ambition ends in turmoil.

    As humans we should strive to be chivalrous and kind. Personally I don't like Clinton very much, and I like Obama a lot, but there's no excuse for heckling, insults or whatnot. We should accept people for who they are, as people. If you don't like her, don't vote for her. But we don't need to be immature about it.

    I prefer Obama, because he seems more honest, and more genuine. I don't get those feelings from Hillary. However, I've met neither person face to face, and neither of them has committed any real evils, so I'll state my opinion frankly, but I won't insult someone who I really don't know much about.

    Go on, dig me down for being balanced.
