- Conspiracy20, on 07/17/2008, -0/+16Supporters of honest elections won an important victory when a majority of states enacted paper-trail requirements for electronic voting. But those paper trails will have little value unless they are backed up with audits that are able to detect errors and fraud — and to ensure that the candidate who gets the most votes wins.
- MarkEarhart, on 07/17/2008, -0/+5The best way I can think of to accomplish this is to provide a paper trail for the voting precinct and for the individual voter to keep for their own record. The voter's printout would have to be uniquely marked to ensure accuracy in a recount disputed by the people. If every voter had such a record of thier vote and would show up to clear up disputes election fraud would be much harder.
- heymisspenny, on 07/17/2008, -0/+4That actually sounds like a feasible idea.
I guess absentee voters could have a carbon copy of what they fill out, too? I always worry my ballot may be hand written but who knows?

- MarkEarhart, on 07/17/2008, -0/+4Good luck.
- jodimcmullen, on 07/17/2008, -0/+5We cannot let this election be stolen. Sept. 8th, 2008, peacefully demonstrate that you demand honesty in government.
- ZaZ2137, on 07/18/2008, -0/+3But if we check everything....how will McBush win?!?!?!
