- paintgrl, on 10/21/2008, -0/+5Yes go California.
- d2002, on 10/21/2008, -0/+5I knew we should've spent that 700 billion in green technology instead of bailing out WS fat cats.
- Hillsfar, on 10/21/2008, -0/+4This is what Obama means when he says he has plans and proposals to create 5 million new jobs in the U.S.
If California with just a little effort can create 1.5 million jobs over 30 years...
The U.S. with 10 times California's population can create 5 million jobs in 4 to 8 years.
Geothermal heat exchanges can cool homes in the summer. Passive solar can heat homes in winter. Better insulation can keep things cool or warm. Imagine cutting your cooling and heating bill by 90%! What could you buy with all that extra money?!? - redcolumbine, on 10/21/2008, -0/+2No! We must concentrate on technologies like coal and nuclear, with huge barriers to entry, or the monopolists will lose business to upstarts!
- davesonoma, on 10/21/2008, -0/+0I agree with redcolumbine. Why would we want a quick boost to our economy with efficiency improvements that can happen immediately, would provide local jobs across the nation, and could jumpstart whole new industries.. Let's stall and propose ten and twenty year plans for the least cost effective solution, nuclear power.
- vproman, on 10/21/2008, -0/+0This is stupid. We need a short term solution so that we can see results NOW, not a long term solution that we'll have to wait to reap huge rewards from. We're Americans remember? We need instant gratification!
DRILL, BABY, DRILL! - oldgal, on 10/23/2008, -0/+1Bush's policies are as you describe, however, Arnie is a republican and has been a major force in moving California forward. We need to get rid of the divisiveness and elect officials who will encourage us to work together for the good of the environment and the country.
