- preneel, on 05/15/2008, -26/+19Thank you Paul. I know you support Clinton but this is awesome. Let's all unite.
- womensgroup, on 05/15/2008, -3/+11I Agree. US Politics has taken a step beyond any decency or moral dignity.
- gsxrjason, on 05/15/2008, -2/+7You really have to give it to Bush, he is able to unite the Democrats with most Independents and some Republicans against him. Great work! Thank you sir!

- SheilaNoya, on 05/15/2008, -34/+161Bush's argument...
- We should never sit down and talk with people we don't like to try and resolve our problems peacefully.
- We should pre-emptively kill people and destroy their entire country, just in case we are right.- ravamp3, on 05/15/2008, -9/+4That's the whole reason why we're in Iraq and Afghanistan, right? Damn I hate this chimp bastard...
- Laughsatyou, on 05/16/2008, -2/+2Obama?
- sparsely, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1Didn't you get the memo?
You can't use the monkey thing to refer to Bush anymore. It detracts from the validity of the racism of some particular t-shirt.
- taradisiac, on 05/15/2008, -21/+3- If you want to negotiate, you are a pussy and a traitor.
- msflower97, on 05/15/2008, -1/+3Because?
- m0tbaillie, on 05/15/2008, -1/+6Says some ***** who has probably never served a day in the service.
- taradisiac, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2I was adding another point to Sheila's list.
- scbysnx, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1wow ok dumbass number one and dumbass number two.. if you had opened your eyes you might have noticed that he wrote it in exactly the same style as the parent .. as if it were a continuation almost eh? eh? now we're cookin with gas.. idiots
- Laughsatyou, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1cooking with charcoal tastes better
- Deadpixel1221, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1Ah my first block using the new comment system, feels good. :)
- SheilaNoya, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Ronald Reagan was hailed as a foreign policy hero for being brave enough to talk to our "enemies" face-to-face.
So you're saying Reagan was a pussy and a traitor?
- SmokinOkie, on 05/15/2008, -4/+8That's not what he said dumbass
- DivisibleByZero, on 05/15/2008, -4/+5I got the clear impression from that quote that he was only referring to the type of people who *won't listen* to talk. Going and talking to a rational person is a perfectly good idea.
But when every Tuesday you see an article about optimistic peace talks between israel/palestine, then every Thursday you see an article about how those peace talks failed miserably, it starts to become apparent that at least one side of that argument isn't trying. At that point, violence is the only solution left. - HeavyWaters, on 05/15/2008, -5/+8Congratulations SheilaNola. That was one of the most ill-informed, overwrought, and fallacious arguments I've ever seen on digg.
- 533n, on 05/16/2008, -0/+3I don't think he realizes that half of the US problems are because the world hates him
- ravamp3, on 05/15/2008, -9/+4That's the whole reason why we're in Iraq and Afghanistan, right? Damn I hate this chimp bastard...
- mattinprague, on 05/15/2008, -32/+33Just one more incident in a growing chain, of despicable, unpardonable behaviors from the moronic stooge of the Republican serpent.
- fjwjr, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1Are you serious? So you support Obama's plan of bombing our friends then dismantling our military so we can talk to radicals, who call us their enemy, from a position of weakness. Wow, that's stunning. We didn't win the Cold War that way.
- arkansasindian1, on 05/17/2008, -0/+0You have to be kidding me.Look where it came from, the huffingpost.that says it all,Just forget it.Stop reading from the bottom of the pond, all you read is scum of the blogs.
- fjwjr, on 05/17/2008, -0/+0What happened to real journalism?
- 12DHutch, on 05/15/2008, -36/+39How on earth did this arrogant moron come to represent the US? Oh, right; I remember now--He and his cronies stole the election. Then they wrecked the country. He should be ashamed to show his face overseas considering how he's damaged the US image with his foreign policy (or should I say, lack of). I know I'm ashamed of him.
- schnikies79, on 05/15/2008, -9/+15He didn't steal *****, the jackass won and the American people are to blame for it. Simple as that.
- konradryan, on 05/15/2008, -6/+0Oh right.. the "hanging chad" wasnt a setup.. youre right.. how stupid of everyone to think differently
- schnikies79, on 05/15/2008, -0/+5Hanging chad? That was a problem years before bush ever ran for election. We had the exact same problem in our county in the early 90's.
- STPZ, on 05/15/2008, -6/+0He didn't win he was appointed by the supreme court 5-4 decision just so happens there were 5 republican justices and only 4 democrat justices....he didn't win, he was appointed
- schnikies79, on 05/15/2008, -1/+10And when the Florida recount was finished, he still came out ahead so it made no difference.
Face it, Bush won. It sucks, I wish it didn't happen, but he did and every American that voted for him is to blame. Claiming "we were cheated" is just a lame way to try and look better. - Gutterpunk, on 05/15/2008, -0/+4Win... appointed... whats your point?
The supreme court wouldn't have to appoint him to anything if the votes weren't that close. To blame the supreme court for the asshat president is ridiculous. The American people voted enough time for him so that the election result was contestable, even after all the stupid stuff he did in his first term.
In a sane world, Bush wouldn't have had that many vote. Don't blame the court for selecting your president, you guys did bring him upon yourselves.
- schnikies79, on 05/15/2008, -1/+10And when the Florida recount was finished, he still came out ahead so it made no difference.
- konradryan, on 05/15/2008, -6/+0Oh right.. the "hanging chad" wasnt a setup.. youre right.. how stupid of everyone to think differently
- taradisiac, on 05/15/2008, -2/+9Because he's the kind of guy people would "Have a beer with". ***** retards.
- msflower97, on 05/15/2008, -5/+2No, I like to drink with intelligent people.
- masterm1nd, on 05/15/2008, -1/+4I like to drink with Santa Clause but that's not what he means.
- GutterBall1200, on 05/15/2008, -0/+4And he's also the type of guy who'll leave you stuck with the bill.
- MariusC, on 05/15/2008, -3/+3haha, doesn't it bug you all the Bush haters that he's still smarter than you? He's the damn president of US. Who the f..ck are you? Ha ha.
- Gutterpunk, on 05/15/2008, -2/+3And in turn, the Bush haters are smarter than you! Imagine that...
- grunion, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Being POTUS doesn't make you smart, it makes you POTUS. As for who I am, I'm a citizen of the US, and in legal terms no better than and no worse than the POTUS.
Granted, it's unlikely anyone will name any buildings after me.
- dafunkmonster, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2Right. Stole the 2004 election.
Where were you, under a rock?
- schnikies79, on 05/15/2008, -9/+15He didn't steal *****, the jackass won and the American people are to blame for it. Simple as that.
- judyjo, on 05/15/2008, -20/+14the sheer clueless-ness of this man continues to boggle. the contradiction pointed out by Paul Begala is one of too many that bush has not been made responsible for - that's why i joined this forum to offer another voice to the outrage.
- lead2thehead, on 05/15/2008, -0/+5As you will soon find out, facts and logic are frowned upon in the Bush bashing threads. If you point out inconsistencies in their arguments, they'll bury you... not because they think you're wrong, but because they're embarrassed by their own ignorance.
- Gussie3319, on 05/15/2008, -20/+14Also, although you support Clinton, thank you for this utterly warranted condemnation of George Bush's disgraceful comments in Israel. He's a terrible man, and the world holds its breath until he leaves the White House.
- khail250, on 05/15/2008, -25/+27Why, will we never impeach him?
- trunkster, on 05/15/2008, -5/+1That would be funny to impeach him with only a few months left in his term.
- gsxrjason, on 05/15/2008, -6/+6I know why he wasn't impeached. Pelosi was the one who took it off of the table. She is a Democrat and knew Hillary was going to run for president in 2008. If Bush was impeached they would surely include Cheney. If they were both removed from office that would make Pelosi the president, she is third in line. She took it off the table to preserve the honor of first woman president for Hillary. Kind of makes you wonder.
- sonofblacula, on 05/15/2008, -3/+6Your logical chain just went from A to Q with nothing in between. Totally unfounded conjecture about two people whom you know next to nothing about must be fun. Hey, can you tell me one about Puff the Magic Dragon too, since you're already making ***** up off the top of your head?
You can cancel your digg account now.- gsxrjason, on 05/15/2008, -2/+4It's obviously unfounded, aside from the facts. That is why I said it makes you wonder. Lets see...
Fact: Pelosi was the one who took it off of the table.
Fact: She is a Democrat and knew Hillary was going to run for president in 2008
Not quite Fact but blatantly obvious: If Bush was impeached they would surely include Cheney
Fact: If they were both removed from office that would make Pelosi the president, she is third in line
And just to let you know, it is possible to disagree without stooping to a personal attack. - Laughsatyou, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2pelosi as president, now thats a ***** scary thought.
- gsxrjason, on 05/15/2008, -2/+4It's obviously unfounded, aside from the facts. That is why I said it makes you wonder. Lets see...
- sonofblacula, on 05/15/2008, -3/+6Your logical chain just went from A to Q with nothing in between. Totally unfounded conjecture about two people whom you know next to nothing about must be fun. - ashfish, on 05/15/2008, -0/+5No one caught him with an intern between his legs.
- CherryNa, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1even then, they'd just say his wife should run next term and throw a pitty party for her.
- fjwjr, on 05/17/2008, -0/+0"Why, will we never impeach him?"
Because he would have to be guilty of something first. Then again, the Dems have been making stuff up for 8 year why stop now?
- kemp34, on 05/15/2008, -16/+5Total moron.
- elamr, on 05/15/2008, -21/+10Total *****. I can't believe human beings voted for this man.
I'm sure hardlines Israeli's love it. He's trying to set up an attack on Iran. We hit Iran/Syria, Israeli only needs to take out the Sauds and they've nothing more to worry about. Meanwhile, our military is stretched too thin and the dollar continues to collapse as we get in further debt.- taradisiac, on 05/15/2008, -2/+2In all fairness, most of those "human beings" are from the south and are fundies and white trash so we are still waiting for a ruling on their aledged "humanity".
- sonofblacula, on 05/15/2008, -2/+3@elamr It was the Illuminati DURRR
@taradisiac I'm getting tired of your elitist *****. Bush won in every state from Florida to Idaho, with carry basically just taking New England and the western seabord. You high-brow ***** can't just go blaming everying on "those damn backwards hicks" every time the will of the majority goes against how you personally feel. Go move to Canada with Alec Baldwin or something, you whiny cretin.
- OffPiste, on 05/15/2008, -34/+50Stating his opinion is a smear job? Please. Obamatardation is rampant on Digg.
- msflower97, on 05/15/2008, -3/+2The two aren't mutually exclusive. Nobody has to state absolute fact to try to smear someone or something. In addition, following your logic, Begala's opinion that it is a smear job is just as valid as any of Bush's opinions.
- CabesMojo, on 05/15/2008, -3/+7Good lord, could the Obama crew be more sensitive and self centered? Hey here is a newsflash, not everything said is automatically about you. In fact they've have already come out and said it wasn't directed towards Obama this morning, but then again its much more inflammatory to just ignore that and freak out.
- masterm1nd, on 05/15/2008, -29/+40BREAKING: Huffpost uses description to launch hypocritical smear campaign.
- ravamp3, on 05/15/2008, -17/+7***** THAT PUTO.
- taradisiac, on 05/15/2008, -21/+11"Holy Land"
I'm sorry, could you keep mythology out of your titles? - DocCochran, on 05/15/2008, -16/+22This is in another article still on the front page, for crying out loud.
Buried. - Fallout911, on 05/15/2008, -13/+5That land is as holy as my ass hole after ***** diarrhea.
Bush is still a piece of sub human slime though. - JohnGalt72, on 05/15/2008, -20/+8Get ready Democrats. This is just the beginning. The anti-war candidate will always be drug through the mud every which way. And to add to it, this anti-war candidate just so happens to be black....unfortunately another thing he will continue to be attacked for. I wish Obama luck. I won't be voting for him, but I wish him luck...it will be an interesting summer.
- ethornquist, on 05/16/2008, -1/+2"Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along. We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: "Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided." We have an obligation to call this what it is - the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."
This reads like a semantics class from graduate school. It's so nonsensical that it only makes Bush and his gang look worse. I can't say who I will vote for yet - McCain, Ron Paul, or Obama - but I got fooled in 2000 and 2004.
Here's to a new America!
- ethornquist, on 05/16/2008, -1/+2"Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along. - Albear89, on 05/15/2008, -31/+46Buried cuz it's Huffington Post. enough already!
- fard0wn, on 05/15/2008, -2/+2Then find another source!
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYlKIGssQIE - Nexnecis, on 05/16/2008, -1/+0It's actually an article from Paul Begala, that blond guy you see on CNN all the time that's Pro-Clinton. Huff post comes up a lot because they link to a lot of other blogs/articles. Not everything is written by Arianna there.
- skteoievtehr, on 05/16/2008, -0/+0Also on The New York Times and Washington Post. Ever heard of them?
- fard0wn, on 05/15/2008, -2/+2Then find another source!
- johnomaz, on 05/15/2008, -17/+32So the writer decided to use his own opinion and call it fact. People seriously, STFU. Do you think Bush says something and it is done? If you want to blame someone, blame the whole government. Everyone is on a "hate bush' rampage. No matter what, he is wrong. I bet if he withdrew every last troop in the war and called the whole thing off, people would still hate him and find something of fault in it.
You people are rediculous. I'd love to see any one of you be put in his place and see how you do. You'd cry home to mommy after you piss yourself a few times.
Am I a fan of Bush. No, I'm not. But he is still the president of our country. Learn to have a little respect.- aaabatteries, on 05/15/2008, -0/+7Well thought-out nonbiased posts, on MY digg?
- twinmomma416, on 05/15/2008, -5/+3sorry but respect is earned and Mr. Bush has NOT earned ours as a nation. I don't necesarily agree with article but none the less I cannot respect someone who has put us in an invasion that has needlessly killed so many American troops as well as Iraqi civilians.
- floridiot2, on 05/15/2008, -4/+2If someone stabbed you in the chest, you'd say, "hey, what the ***** sir." and you would have anger for this person. Then they learn from their mistakes and remove the knife. Of course you're not gonna forget he put it there. Why would you all of a sudden stop hating this person?
- sean74, on 05/15/2008, -3/+2I don't listen to people who extend their speaking time by asking themselves a question and proceeding to answer it, when a brief statement will suffice.
- skteoievtehr, on 05/16/2008, -2/+0Bush and his cronies sent us to war for no reason and now 4,000 of our fellow Americans are dead because of it. He deserves to be waterboarded and worse.
- arkansasindian1, on 05/17/2008, -0/+0You are right,If,and only if,a Democratic does become President, Bush will still be blamed for every bad thing that will happen in the 4 years(not 8 because the people will get tired of the blame game and the increase in our taxes) Obama or Clinton is President. The Republican party will come roaring back,if and only if the Republican party starts listening to the people.
- flogistan, on 05/15/2008, -11/+7Didn't he seem trashed again when making that speech in front of the knesset?
- ethornquist, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1That thought crossed my mind too . . . it's gotta be hard to be a president with such a low approval rating, I guess.
- fleischner, on 05/15/2008, -20/+16Yeah, that makes sense. BHO, his wife, their terrorist supporters, and their pastor all say openly degrading and evil things about America but Bush is the one is unworthy. Typical Leftie tactic: accuse your opponent of the things you're guilty of.
- arkarrel, on 05/15/2008, -18/+12He should watch what he says about Nazi's, being that he's the grandson of one.
- superkendall, on 05/15/2008, -2/+2So are many Germans, are you saying we should hate them all for what grandparents generations ago have done?
Personally I like the german people of today, but if you insist on hating them I guess that is your right. But I cannot support you.- nblsavage, on 05/15/2008, -2/+4You misunderstand, Prescott Bush was an american collabarating with the Nazis.
- arkarrel, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Yea... I didn't anywhere, compare the current generation of Germans to Nazi's. But thanks for trying.
With that, I'll leave you with this.

- superkendall, on 05/15/2008, -2/+2So are many Germans, are you saying we should hate them all for what grandparents generations ago have done?
- Tantrum, on 05/15/2008, -23/+17Bush is a douche , November can't come fast enough. Good bye, good riddance to the worst President in USA's history.
- SmokinOkie, on 05/15/2008, -8/+3no, you are a douche
- Laughsatyou, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1Woodrow Wilson was the worst President in US history.
- Quick2822, on 05/15/2008, -10/+5The description of this submission can apply to any point between 2000 to present.
- maxor, on 05/15/2008, -19/+27How does this have 201 diggs? Are you people all brainwashed obamaites?
- shadus, on 05/15/2008, -7/+4I'm a conservative not a liberal, however between McCain and Obama, I think I'd have to choose Obama. McCain is another Bush and really, I think I personally have had more than enough Bush to last me several lifetimes. Bush is the worst president we've ever had and for the sake of this country I hope he's the worst president we will ever have. McCain is just more of the same neo-con trash we've had for too long.
- issachar, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1You might not care, but the Atlantic argues that McCain is a Burkean conservative. (As opposed to a neo-con).
As a Canadian, I find it very interesting that Burkean conservatism is losing it's influence in the Republican party. Our Conservative party on the other hand really is conservative in the Burkean sense.
- issachar, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1You might not care, but the Atlantic argues that McCain is a Burkean conservative. (As opposed to a neo-con).
- CabesMojo, on 05/15/2008, -2/+4How you can proclaim that you are conservative then support Obama blows my mind. You realize hes the most liberal practically socialist senator in the senate? Are you just caught up in the sensationalism and his charisma? McCain isn't another Bush, in fact he bunted heads with Bush over a lot of things.
- shadus, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Because I'd rather vote for a liberal than another neo-con who will continue the republican parties decent into madness. I want a *real* conservative party not this neo-con ***** that is just as big government as any liberal has ever been. Just because the neo-cons spend the money in other areas doesn't make it any more acceptable.
- sean74, on 05/15/2008, -4/+2Supporting integrity and honesty means you are brainwashed? No, you don't sound biased at all.
- Emnsta, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Welcome to Digg
- skteoievtehr, on 05/16/2008, -2/+0You are blind, maxor. WAKE UP! Your government has tried to start another cold war with the Islamic world. It's constant assertions about how "evil" the terrorists (and by terrorists I mean anyone with brown skin) are misleading at best and realistically, racist, ignorant and diabolical. Obama is going to win in November and our country will once again be viewed with some ***** respect.
- sparsely, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1I was with you till the Obama statement. Thx to the comment system revision allowing me to change the digg :)
You're still blind.- shadus, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1I think Obama will win in November. Based on the few dozen people in Canada and Australia that I know, Obama is respected far more than Bush is. I really can't speak for the Euros.
- sparsely, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1I was with you till the Obama statement. Thx to the comment system revision allowing me to change the digg :)
- DevilInPgh, on 05/15/2008, -15/+11I'm not-so-anxiously awaiting neocog to infiltrate this post.
And for the record, Bush is an idiot. - shadus, on 05/15/2008, -15/+11Does this shock anyone? Bush has been an embarrassment in every way since the day he took office.
- JaNkz, on 05/15/2008, -12/+25I don't like bush very much either.. But Paul Begala should be ashamed of him self if he considers this journalism. If anybody is smearing someone, it's the author of this ridiculously opinionated article.
- skteoievtehr, on 05/16/2008, -0/+0Check out The New York Times, Washington Post and others. They, too, have reported on this story.
- jerrycurley, on 05/15/2008, -9/+21If anyone knows about disgracing themselves, it is hte people at huffingtonpost.com. (WEll, they WOULD disgrace themselves if anyone gave a ***** about them.)
- moolaismyfriend, on 05/15/2008, -9/+14Did anyone just see Chris Matthews on Hardball completely destroy the right wing talk radio scum bag Kevin James? He didn't know the difference between appeasement and diplomacy. It was one of the best smack downs of an ignorant anti-American Republican talk radio scum bag I have ever seen.
- mrtiddles, on 05/15/2008, -6/+4You know, I agree that it was all a bit out-of-line, but I think that a lot of the arguments made in that article are a bit shaky. You don't get very far believing claims on the internet that aren't substantiated by at LEAST a link to the source.
- dontwhine, on 05/15/2008, -10/+19lets put our difference aside for a minute. what bush said is historically accurate. now you can bury me
- usingpond, on 05/15/2008, -6/+2You are wrong, so here you go.
- Yeyui, on 05/15/2008, -2/+3The anecdote Bush refers to may well have happened. It may also be true that no amount of diplomacy could have dissuaded Hitler from his aggressions. However, the failure of a tactic once, or a few times, does not imply that the tactic will always fail. In fact there are numerous examples throughout from the level of individuals to the level of empires where rational discourse has diffused situations that would otherwise have degenerated into open violence.
- cranbobby, on 05/15/2008, -3/+1Actually, what is historically accurate is that the Bush family SUPPORTED the Nazi's. Prescott had his bank taken away under the Trading with the Enemy Act.
- Daedalus17, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1It's a good thing we are only responsible for our own actions then. I'm not responsible for murder, theft, rape, or anything else done by someone in my family or of my race. Glad we have that cleared up!
- TheGhostMan, on 05/15/2008, -2/+2If you read the whole article you would see that the government under Bush actually does negotiate with the enemy, why is everyone ignoring that?
- ethornquist, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1[fixed] If you read an impartial article you would see that the government under Bush does not negotiate with anyone who they call "the enemy" - why is everyone ignoring that? [/fixed]
- skteoievtehr, on 05/16/2008, -1/+0You're a jackass.
- the2989, on 05/15/2008, -9/+5Maybe we should use Bush's "no talk, just destroy" ideals against him. That'll teach him.
- Icebreaker542, on 05/15/2008, -7/+1I think he can say what ever he wants. We all know that politians bash each other all the time.
If obama disagreed with bush's policys over seas it would be fine right? - DivisibleByZero, on 05/15/2008, -7/+11Wow, with all that dramatic build up I was expecting him to have done something a little more sinister than invoking Godwin's Law. Do the guys over at the Huffington Post have blood pressure problems or something? (because you know who else had blood pressure problems....)
- usingpond, on 05/15/2008, -10/+5Disgusting.
- flintmecha, on 05/15/2008, -12/+10" George W. Bush is unworthy of the presidency. He is a disgrace to himself, our Nation, and the high office he holds. "
NO KIDDING? slowpoke.jpg - jpd272, on 05/15/2008, -7/+20I guess I missed it. Where did he mention Obama? I thought he was talking about Jimmy Carter. If Obama doesn't support talking to terrorist or state sponsors, why would anyone think this speach is directed at Obama?
- issachar, on 05/15/2008, -6/+15Did I miss the part where Bush actually mentioned Obama? Because to me the quote in the article looks like an attack on the straw man of "the appeaser". I see no mention of Obama or reason to infer that Obama is an "appeaser".
Note, I'm not defending Bush, his Presidency or defending Obama. I just don't see how the Bush quote in the article relates to Obama in any way. It's a standard political attack on a strawman.- DivisibleByZero, on 05/15/2008, -0/+5You see, he mentioned the Holocaust.
So clearly he was calling all Democrats Nazi appeasers.
And Obama is a Democrat.
And it's especially offensive to Obama since he's black, and we all know Nazis hated Jewish people.
Duh, don't you know anything about politics? How do you not see the logic in all of that? - issachar, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2Well I did find this in an article that was linked to at the bottom of the original.
[Bush's statement] "in what White House aides privately acknowledged was a reference to calls by Obama and other Democrats for the U.S. president to sit down for talks with leaders like Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad."
So it's not pulled completely out of the author's backside, but I still think it's a pretty weak claim. There's a BIG difference between a comment that a bunch of aides privately say is a reference to Obama *and other Democrats* and actually getting up in the Knesset and saying that Obama's an appeaser. (Which is what the article implied happened).
It would also have been good to mention the comments by White House aides in the article as it's a pretty darn relevant fact.
- DivisibleByZero, on 05/15/2008, -0/+5You see, he mentioned the Holocaust.
- xike, on 05/15/2008, -4/+6While I disagree with everything bush said, I think the author's comparison of terrorists with Iran, Libya, and North Korea is equally appalling.
- Brownds, on 05/15/2008, -9/+7Oh oh I just took a ***** and ran out of toilet paper! Can someone pass me the Huffington Post, the Daily Mail or even a Limbaugh Letter? I bet when I'm done they’ll be a better read.
- tiroger, on 05/15/2008, -8/+9Digg needs a new category: The Huffington Post!
This is getting pretty tiresome. I'm an Obama supporter but come on... enough with these non-story stories! Who cares...!?! We all know how disastrous this administration was. So let's all move on and look forward to how we begin to fix things. Change...!- stonewaljacksn, on 05/15/2008, -2/+3THANK YOU. THERE ARE TWO HUFFPO STORIES ABOUT THE SAME EVENT GOING ON AT THE SAME TIME. WAKE THE ***** UP YOU PROPAGANDA INHALING SHEEP.
- R0am3r, on 05/16/2008, -0/+3Bury the Huffingtonpost as spam. Maybe someday this drivel will end.
- johnnyfistfight, on 05/15/2008, -11/+5How dare he say something we already ***** know. Google "ahmadinejad, obama" . Obama can't spin this.
- skteoievtehr, on 05/16/2008, -0/+0haha. "Google" is your source? Show me a reputable, academic source that says anything incriminating about Obama with regard to Iran. People like you, who, either can't read, or don't understand the word "context" should be fined for using a keyboard. Maybe then we could have healthcare for our veterans.
- JointVenture, on 05/15/2008, -6/+15There are enemies that you can negotiate with and there are some that you cannot negotiate with. Neville negotiated with Germany, even made a big show when he got off the plane showing the piece of paper the agreement was written on. What happened next? You know the story.
You cannot negotiate with the current leadership in control of Iran.
Just last week the little man said that Israel would soon be destroyed by the Palestinians.
Which is pretty funny because the destruction of Israel means certain destruction for Iran, and any other country involved.
Just remember the Palestinians and Israelis have been "negotiating" for 60 years.- ethornquist, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Here's a post that examines the issue in the light of the past. This I like.
I don't come here expecting impartial analysis, with all the Obama & Paul
fans, the McCainiacs, and the Huffington Post - not to mention the dozens of
NeoCon spammers. When I do see some thoughtful analysis, however,
I digg it.
As far as "negotiating with the current leadersip in control of Iran" goes,
I believe that neither my own country or Iran will back down. Both sides will point fingers.
Each side will use scare tactics. And nothing will happen.
Ultimately, to restore a backbone, we need a change in leadership. I never thought
I would say this, but Jimmy Carter gets it: the two antagonists need to communicate.
Ya gotta talk. Learn about the "other side." Start to see the "other" as kind of an equal.
You really think Bush will go to Iran in person to teach peace? Or the number 1 flunkie,
Condelezza Rice? They'll spout gibberish but won't actually talk. Which is why America
needs change.- JointVenture, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1Yeah Jimmy Carter gets it, the week after he leaves Beirut Civil War broke out.
- toshibu, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2Get a clue. Ahmadinejad said what everyone knows to be true, that Israel cannot be both democratic and Jewish simultaneously, at least not for long. The Palestinians will indeed destroy Israel, not in the literal sense, but in terms of Israel being a Jewish state.
The second there are more Palestinian children in Israel than Jewish children, there goes the Israel we know today--the Jewish Israel--effectively "destroyed."
Also, Bush was referring to talking with enemies, not negotiating. Your WWII reference is irrelevant here. Carter didn't negotiate with Hamas, he talked to them--something Bush says no one should do.
Take your warmongering elsewhere. May I suggest WVa, or Israel...

- HeavyWaters, on 05/15/2008, -10/+18Whenever this many liberals freak out about something, you know someone, somewhere, spoke the truth.
Not that I'm any fan of GW, but what he said was 100% accurate and he didn't even reference Obama. So Obama has embarrassed himself and admitted to fitting the characterization. And of course it does fit being that he is the most liberal Senator in Congress who has literally said he would sit down and talk to the Hitler of Iran. - finethug, on 05/15/2008, -9/+8can someone please tell me what good Bush as done in last eight years?
- johnnyfistfight, on 05/15/2008, -5/+2Can you tell me what good any democrat has done in the past 60 years?
- cadmiumpaint, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1Bill Clinton leaves 8 years of office with the biggest budget surplus in history. Not only that it was the 3rd year in a row of surplus. first time thats happened in 50 years...the next guy, GW Bush pissed it all away like a teenager at the mall. nuff said and you're officially stupid.
- Mardala, on 05/16/2008, -1/+2I sat in a class with a Bush supporter, was kind of shocked when I found out really, but at that point I got to know him a little bit more so I didn't feel like holding back. I kept my cool and my first question was, "what is it about him that you support?" His answer was interesting, yet I felt kind of naive.
The only reason he said he would vote for Bush again is because he feels Bush does not back down and stands firm on his beliefs.
I said, " well even if those beliefs are taking this country in the wrong direction?" .... yep.
Its like my classmate is living in bizarro world or something. This president is a feaking disaster. - methos75, on 05/16/2008, -1/+0Well he did take the Taliban out of power, yes they are still there, but they no longer rule and rape the people of Afghanistan.
- johnnyfistfight, on 05/15/2008, -5/+2Can you tell me what good any democrat has done in the past 60 years?
- johnnyfistfight, on 05/15/2008, -10/+10In Germany in the 1930s a charismatic leader with a overpowering charismatic personality gained power by promising relief and change, change and change.

- JoeVet, on 05/16/2008, -2/+3And that charismatic leader had followers in the United States who tried to stage a fascist coup for their German idol. The American follower, one Prescott Bush, continued to do business with Nazi Germany up until the United States declared war. The last person who should talk about Nazi appeasement is the family of the biggest Nazi sympathizer.
- historybuff, on 05/16/2008, -0/+0And your point would be????

- ethornquist, on 05/16/2008, -1/+3On Digg in 2008 a charismatic poster with a overwhelming charismatic personality took power by spouting things that have nothing to do with anything and nonsense, nonsense, and nonsense.
Meet johnnyfistfight, spammer.
Johnny, you'll come back under another assumed name - my guess is you have at least a half-dozen accounts here already. And because you are getting paid to do so, you will re-appear. When you do, try to make sense. I used to vote Republican (boo me if you want Diggers but it's true) but no more - the nonsensical spamming from the Republican "think tanks" and the McCainiacs is ridiculous.- johnnyfistfight, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1you're showing your liberal stupidly.
Spammer- indiscriminately sends unsolicited bulk messages.
Troll- someone who posts controversial and usually irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community.

Not to hard to do when there is a "Check Spelling" button........
You by your own definition are a troll look at your first post and tell me I am wrong. Here is a new term for you you are a tool.
