- skmckinny, on 10/03/2008, -41/+32Democracy is at risk if we do not mute the interests that counter the "1 person, 1 vote" fundamental principle of democracy.
Obama rose to power in IL Senate by tossing his mentor Alice Palmer off the ballot along with two others to get a free walk; e disenfranchised the IL voters. You know the fraudulent primaries and caucuses of the 2008 primaries. MI and FL voters were disenfranchised from the get-go, knowing that it would alter the course of the nomination. 5/31 RBC ruling day was a fiasco and utter defeat for democracy. Going into Denver, after "granting" MI and FL delegates full voting in Denver, the gap in pledged delegates for Obama vs.Clinton was down to 17. Did you know that? Inspite of that, the super delegates had no opportunity to exercise their better judgment. The DNC muted their voice by putting pressure on the pledged delegates and by staging a sham of a roll call and muting the roll call. The DNC has tossed democracy and it is mostly thanks to the shenanigans of their candidate.
Yes, Sarah Palin is absolutely right when she said (during the debate yesterday) that we must safeguard our freedom.. or we will tell our grandchildren what freedom was like.
Please safeguard freedom. Please save democracy in the US. Please vote McCain-Palin. Thank you.- JenniferInMO, on 10/04/2008, -4/+8"Democracy is at risk if we do not mute the interests that counter the '1 person, 1 vote" fundamental principle of democracy"

It also says a lot when you shout to your friends "the McCain brigade is out tonight", what's that all about? I'd be more embarrassed by being affiliated with ACORN, nothing like the Dems signing up dead people and felons to vote.
Your links are somewhat misleading, a lot of the voter purge ones don't cite any one political party for the problem, and a lot of the other links lead you to articles or sites that are Democratic, like the one written by Robert F Kennedy Jr. Better yet they link to an article talking about a purge problem and then at the bottom of the article a blogger will add their opinion that it's the Republicans fault. Really this is very disingenuous of you, but on the bright side I liked your use of the word blitzkrieg. Really as much as your party whines about the policy of fear that you say the GOP uses, you are guilty of the same and it's worse because you're being a hypocrite about it. - JenniferInMO, on 10/09/2008, -1/+1txchica: you project too much. Even if Obama paid people to promote positive articles I wouldn't accept the money. In fact, I keep a running tab of buries. When I find a false, misleading or factually inaccurate article or even if I bury as lame I keep track and donate a dollar to the Obama campaign for each one. So I PAY HIM.
Feel free to check out my history, but why don't you try reading a few instead of looking at them in just a partisan way.
The links I have are offensive to me. Whether the purging and the voter fraud benefits Democrats or Republicans is irrelevant. It is all offensive and I think treasonous.

- buddywlkr3, on 10/03/2008, -40/+35Over the next few days we will be treated to a series of analysis articles in the media that attempt to show how Palin misstated facts or got issues wrong, but anyone watching the debate saw that Biden was just like his boss, spinning things to suit the moment, rewriting history and saying outright lies in order to make points. Probably the best part of the debate in my opinion was when Palin made her remark about how people from small town America just couldn't understand why those people in Washington can't say what they mean and be consistent in their statements.

- tracygav, on 10/03/2008, -8/+45Palin mistakenly claimed that troop levels in Iraq had returned to “pre-surge” levels. Levels are gradually coming down but current plans would have levels higher than pre-surge numbers through early next year, at least.
Palin repeated a false claim that Obama once voted in favor of higher taxes on “families” making as little as $42,000 a year. He did not. The budget bill in question called for an increase only on singles making that amount, but a family of four would not have been affected unless they made at least $90,000 a year.
Palin claimed McCain’s health care plan would be “budget neutral,” costing the government nothing. Independent budget experts estimate McCain's plan would cost tens of billions each year, though details are too fuzzy to allow for exact estimates.
Palin wrongly claimed that “millions of small businesses” would see tax increases under Obama’s tax proposals.
Palin said, "We're circulating about $700 billion a year into foreign countries" for imported oil, repeating an outdated figure often used by McCain. At oil prices current as of Sept. 30, imports are running at a rate of about $493 billion per year.
Palin threw out an old canard when she criticized Obama for voting for the 2005 energy bill and said, “that’s what gave those oil companies those big tax breaks.” It’s a false attack Sen. Hillary Clinton used against Obama in the primary, and McCain himself has hurled. It’s true that the bill gave some tax breaks to oil companies, but it also took away others. And according to the Congressional Research Service, the bill created a slight net increase in taxes for the oil industry.
Palin said that McCain had sounded the alarm on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac two years ago.
By the time McCain added his name to the bill as a cosponsor, the collapse was well underway. Home prices began falling only two months later.
Palin got newly appointed Gen. David D. McKiernan's name wrong when she called him McClellan. And, more important, Gen. McKiernan clearly did say that surge principles would not work in Afghanistan. As the Washington Post reported:
Washington Post: "The word I don't use for Afghanistan is 'surge,' " McKiernan stressed, saying that what is required is a "sustained commitment" to a counterinsurgency effort that could last many years and would ultimately require a political, not military, solution.
Palin said: “You do what I did as governor. And you appoint people regardless of party affiliation. Democrats, independents, Republicans, you walk the walk, don't just talk the talk.” [Vice Presidential Debate, 10/2/08]
FACT: PALIN HIRED HER FRIENDS TO KEY ADMINISTRATION POSITIONS
PALIN: “We have got to encourage other nations to come along with us with the impacts of climate change, what we can do about that. As governor I was the first governor to form a climate change subcabinet to start dealing with the impacts.”
FACTS: PALIN WAS NOT THE FIRST GOVERNOR TO ACT ON CLIMATE CHANGE OR REORGANIZE HER CABINET TO DEAL WITH IT.
Sarah Palin said: “Our founding fathers were wise in allowing flexibility in the office of the Vice President and we will do what is best for the American people in tapping into that position and ushering in an agenda that is supportive and cooperative with the president it's agenda in that position. Yes, so I do agree with him that we have a lot of flexibility in there and we will do what we have to do to administer very appropriately the plans that are needed for this nation.” [Vice Presidential Debate, 10/2/08]
FACT: PALIN WOULD NOT RESPOND TO WHETHER THE VICE PRESIDENCY WAS PART OF THE EXECUTIVE OR THE LEGISLATIVE BRANCH
Sarah Palin said: “We need to put more of an emphasis on the profession of teaching, we need to make sure that education in either one of our agendas, I think, absolute top of the line.” [Vice Presidential Debate, 10/2/08]
The facts: Education has not been a top priority for McCain. He has repeatedly opposed education funding, including funds to hire 100,000 new teachers.
FACT: MCCAIN HAS REPEATEDLY VOTED AGAINST INCREASED FUNDING FOR NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND, MORE TEACHERS AND FOR FAILING SCHOOLS AND DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS
FACT: MCCAIN WON’T FULLY FUND NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND LIKE HE CLAIMS
FACT: MCCAIN SUPPORTS VOUCHERS
Sarah Palin said: The nice thing about running with John McCain is I can assure you he doesn't tell one thing to one group and then turns around and tells something else to another group [Vice Presidential Debate, 10/2/08]
The Facts: McCain Has Told Different Audiences Different Stories On Immigration; Palin Does Same With Bridge To Nowhere
Sarah Palin said Obama opposed funding for the troops. [Vice Presidential Debate, 10/2/08]
FACT: ATTACK ON TROOP FUNDING IS “HIGHLY MISLEADING”
Sarah Palin said: “An increased tax formula that Barack Obama is proposing in addition to nearly a trillion dollars in new spending that he is proposing is the backwards way of trying to grow our economy.” [Vice Presidential Debate, 10/2/08]
The Facts: Palin’s Claims About Obama’s Spending Have Been Debunked. Obama’s Plan Would Cut The Deficit Far More Than McCain’s.
Sarah Palin said: “Now, as for John McCain's adherence to rules and regulations and pushing for even harder and tougher regulations, that is another thing that he is known for, though. Look at the tobacco industry." [Vice Presidential Debate, 10/2/08]
The Facts: McCain Has Flip-Flopped On Tobacco Taxes
2007: MCCAIN VOTED AGAINST EFFORT TO EXPAND SCHIP TO 5.8 MILLION CHILDREN BECAUSE IT RAISED TAXES ON TOBACCO AND IT EXPANDED COVERAGE TO MIDDLE-INCOME CHILDREN
Sarah Palin said: “Barack Obama had 94 opportunities to side on the people's side and reduce taxes, and 94 times he voted to increase taxes or not support a tax reduction, 94 times. Now, that is not what we need to create jobs and really bolster and heat up our economy. We do need the private sector to be able to keep more of what we earn and produce.” [Vice Presidential Debate, 10/2/08]
The Facts: McCain/Palin Claim On Taxes Is “FALSE”
OBAMA HAS NOT VOTED 94 TIMES TO RAISE TAXES
Sarah Palin said: “What I have done as a governor and as a mayor is true, they had the track record of reform, and I joined this team that is a team of mavericks with John McCain also, with his track record of reform, where we are known for putting partisan politics aside to just get the job done.” [Vice Presidential Debate, 10/2/08]
FACT: McCain Has Been A Reliable Vote For George Bush And THE Republican Party
Sarah Palin said: “American workforce is the greatest in this world, with the ingenuity and the work ethic that is just entrenched in our workforce.” [Vice Presidential Debate, 10/2/08]
The Facts: John McCain Has Repeatedly Voted Against The Interests of American Workers.
FACT: MCCAIN HAS REPEATEDLY OPPOSED EFFORTS TO HELP WORKERS INCLUDING VOTING AT LEAST 19 TIMES AGAINST INCREASING THE MINIMUM WAGE
Sarah Palin said: “John McCain saying our economy was strong, he was talking to and about the American workforce, and the American workforce is the greatest in this world, with the ingenuity and the work ethic that is just entrenched in our workforce, that is a positive, that is encouragement, and that is what John McCain meant.” [Vice Presidential Debate, 10/2/08]

I do not bury articles that are opinion or are true. It is the McCain brigade which buries for inaccuracy videos of a speech, op-eds, and everything from a particular source. Feel free to look at my history. I hide nothing, but maybe you would benefit from actually reading some of the articles I digg and looking at why the articles I bury are factually inaccurate. - jperson, on 10/04/2008, -1/+14I disagree. By allowing promotion but forbidding demotion of articles, Digg will become overrun by smears and mudslinging articles from both sides. Voting an article up or down is a choice made completely by the person receiving a shout. No one is being forced. They can choose to ignore the shout or choose to contradict the shout with a Digg. The ability to freely vote content up or down is the cornerstone of Digg, in my opinion, and trying to control this behavior won't improve the overall quality of content. If anything, this changes the language of all shouts from "Please bury" or "Please Digg" to "What do you think?" with the same end result.
