Barack Obama & Ron Paul: The REAL Dream Ticket
politicalfury.com — Clinton/Obama won't happen. Neither will McCain/Romney. But since we're dreaming... isn't an Obama/Paul the storybook dream ticket that could point American in the best direction?

Dr. Ron Paul has just about ABSOLUTELY nothing in common with Obama Barrack Hussein...well except maybe for some stoned followers. Or perhaps OBAMA is now campaigning to ABOLISH THE IRS and Income Taxes?
http://thefullenchilada.com- iainc, on 02/17/2008, -1/+6You could even get his name right. What makes you think we value what you say?
- nightmare1228, on 02/17/2008, -2/+2Obama Barrack Hussein and Saddam Hussein sound nothing alike you realize?
- diggyadigger, on 02/19/2008, -0/+1Yes, unfortunately many supporters do not know his full name: Barack Hussein Obama Jr. , ie a Muslim name, same name as his Father. Quotes from his books:
Quote from Barack Obama's book, Dreams Of My Father:
"The person who made me proudest of all, though, was [half brother] Roy .. He converted to Islam."
From 'Dreams of my Father', "In Indonesia, I had spent two years at a Muslim school"
"I studied the Koran.."
From 'Audacity of Hope: "Lolo (Obama's step father) followed a brand of Islam ...."I looked to Lolo for guidance".
From 'The Audacity Of Hope, "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

- aaroh, on 02/16/2008, -2/+2Obama will likely choose Dick Durbin as VP
- SheilaNoya, on 02/17/2008, -1/+7I'd love to see him choose Wesley Clark (but hey, that's just me). Clark would give him the military credentials his team needs and the wisdom of an older, more established man who isn't exactly a Washington insider. Clark also appeals to both sides because he doesn't bash conservatives and works well with both sides. He's also cute! (at least to a grandmother like me!)
- junkalam, on 02/17/2008, -1/+4Dugg for being a grandmother.
oh... and i wouldn't mind Wesley Clark myself. - semeticstallion, on 02/17/2008, -0/+1Unfortunately Clark's been a huge Clinton supporter since day 1 of her campaign. Although the thought is nice, I just don't see that happening.
- junkalam, on 02/17/2008, -1/+4Dugg for being a grandmother.
- brentinkc, on 02/17/2008, -0/+1I don't have any inside information on this, but why on Earth would you choose a running mate that represents the same state as you? In addition, Durbin is a pretty high-ranking senator. Why would the party want to give that position up when there are many other viable candidates for VP? Doesn't make sense to me. Anyone want to chime in on this?
- aaroh, on 02/17/2008, -0/+1Obama will choose someone who opposed the Iraq war from the start and who can continue his legacy with a similar mindset as his, Dick Durbin is a small handful of people that fits that bill.

- michaelpinto, on 02/17/2008, -7/+4Ron Paul is a loyal Republican who won't even think of an independent run never mind switching parties. Also while being opposed to the war in Iraq is unique within the Republican party it's pretty much the norm with the Democrats with every candidate wanting to get out. If the war is your main issue you'd be better off supporting a Democrat in November (even if that's Hillary Clinton).
- enTor, on 05/29/2008, -0/+0You dont have to switch parties to run on the same ticket. I think it would be a great ticket. Ron Paul pulls in 20% or so of Republican primary voters, and will draw these people to vote Dem instead of Ind, and encourage other libertarian-leaning voters away from McCain.
That ticket has more than immediate appeal. It is smart planning as well, I think, to discourage
any threat to the message of reform and a drastic changing of directions.

- 7Mystery, on 02/17/2008, -5/+5That would be awesome! Although they have some fundamental differences, Ron Paul said (in one of the debates) that he respects Obama out of all the Dems. I am sure the feeling is mutual and Obama has a great deal of respect for Dr. Paul.
- diggyadigger, on 02/19/2008, -0/+1I'm sure the feeling is NOT mutual, Dr. Paul would NEVER run democrats' platform of HUGE GOVERNMENT. Dr. Ron Paul is much more against IRAQ war than any democrat, he would like to get ALL troops from everywhere outside the US back home. Obama is much more likely to "compromise on anything".
Teaming up with Barack Obama Hussein Jr. would be repulsive to any intelligent Ron Paul supporter.

- bingobongony, on 02/17/2008, -5/+21That would GUARANTEE that McCain wins the election.
And again, idiots...Paul and Obama are political opposites.- h4ckler, on 02/17/2008, -5/+2Which would be perfect. I'm sick of 2 party bickering and no one taking blame for anything Obama/Paul 08!
And only a complete idiot would vote for McCain (or an old person), I honestly think a box of hair has a better chance at being elected than McCain. Are you people really that scared of "Terrorists"? Come on. Stop listening to your TV.- bingobongony, on 02/17/2008, -3/+1Who the ***** cares what YOU think? The polls say different. The person that has ZERO chance of being elected if Ron Paul. He would lose to ANYONE the democrats put him up against. Unanimously in the electoral college.
- groverblue, on 02/17/2008, -0/+3Who the ***** cares what YOU think?

- trigatch4, on 02/17/2008, -2/+4The proposition leads off with: SINCE WE ARE DREAMING... it obviously won't happen.
The point is that these candidates stand for CHANGE and part of that change is the abolition of the partisan politics that are destroying our country's dignity. An Obama-Paul ticket would be a Democrat and a Republican giving partisan politics the middle finger and a big F-U.
Go America! - SheilaNoya, on 02/17/2008, -12/+4LMAO - Ron Paul folks never cease to amaze me. They're still desperately grasping at straws and using any excuse they can to keep from facing reality. The vast majority of America doesn't like Ron Paul's crazy plan to dismantle America and try to drag us back to 1776. It's over for Ron Paul. It also looks like he's going to lose his seat in the House in November since the GOP is running someone against him in his district. His own political party doesn't even want him, so now they are funding someone else to help oust him out of power.
The so-called "revolution" never had the majority of citizens supporting it, so technically it was NOT a "revolution". It was more like a "coup" that a small minority was hoping would somehow come true. It fizzled out. Now, the "coup" isn't even possible.
It's time to face reality now. There are only 3 viable candidates and one of these 3 will become our next president. People need to throw their support behind either Hillary, Obama, or McCain. If not, they will be letting others decide which one of these 3 is our next president. Those are the only options now.- etherreal, on 02/17/2008, -1/+5I cannot in good conscience vote for any of the "3 remaining candidates". You vote how you want, you dont get to tell me who to vote for.
- SheilaNoya, on 02/17/2008, -1/+1I didn't tell you who to vote for. I told you what the reality of the situation is. If you choose not to vote for one of the only 3 viable candidates, then you are throwing your vote away since it won't matter in the end. I don't give a crap if you want to let others decide the final outcome of this election for you. That's YOUR choice. You may not like how the game is played, and you may not like the choices you have now, but that's how it works.
Voting for someone who can't possibly win only wastes your vote. If that's what you want to do, then go right ahead.- h4ckler, on 02/17/2008, -1/+2I'm not sure how you can say...
"The vast majority of America doesn't like Ron Paul's crazy plan to dismantle America and try to drag us back to 1776. It's over for Ron Paul."
...especially since the majority doesn't even know about Ron Paul because of the American media. Why not let America decide and not some apes in suits? America was meant to be ran from the bottom up, not the top down.
We'll see where we're at in another 2 years. You may find yourself begging for 1776. - SheilaNoya, on 02/17/2008, -2/+2H4ckler - I know you guys are convinced that no one has heard Ron Paul's message, but you're wrong. You guys have spammed it all over the place until out eyes are ready to bleed from seeing it. EVERYONE knows what Ron Paul's plans are, even all of my old relatives who don't use computers. Face reality - He didn't get many votes because people don't agree with him. The media didn't take him seriously because the majority of America didn't take him seriously.
He's a good man, but most people don't agree with most of his plans, other than ending the Iraq War. Now it's time to decide which of the 3 remaining viable candidates will be sitting in the White House. It may not be fair, but it's the only 3 REAL choices we have now. Choose wisely because our future is at stake. - etherreal, on 02/17/2008, -0/+1Shelia... If I vote for one of the three remaining candidates, even if I do not agree with them, I have already "let someone else" decide the outcome. Regardless if you vote McCain or Obama, you are getting six of one, half a dozen of the other.
The only way to waste my vote is by staying home.
- h4ckler, on 02/17/2008, -1/+2I'm not sure how you can say...

- NightVortez, on 02/17/2008, -2/+4Eh, if we're going for dream unity tickets, Paul/Kucinich or Paul/Gravel would be much more appealing to me.
- onetimer, on 02/17/2008, -5/+2I see. You went straight from a ticket with candidates that were near polar opposites of each other to a ticket with candidates that were complete polar opposites.
You must have very strong political convictions...- NightVortez, on 02/17/2008, -1/+2Complete polar opposites now? Last I checked they share the same foreign policy belief, somewhat close monetary policy belief (both oppose the federal reserve), both oppose bills such as the Real ID or the PATRIOT ACT and hold the constitution dear.
Perhaps there are quite a few differences in the domestic policy but they are far from being complete polar opposites, hell, both men have mentioned support for one another.

jeeze two people couldn't think so differently in terms of spending. File this under "internet wet dream" so we can move on before digg implodes on itself. - eyefone, on 02/17/2008, -4/+2Ron Paul is an old geezer, he looks like he's about to fall over any moment.
- HCviolence, on 02/17/2008, -2/+2partnering these two up based on internet popularity is just stupid. Taking a look at how much their proposing to spend once in office will show you how different these two men are.
- Heelz, on 02/17/2008, -1/+1I don't understand the "different ideas" argument why two politicians can't join forces. In fact, it would probably work for the best, since issues would be decided after both sides can input equally. The best presidents appoint people with varying views into their Cabinet. The best Congress is one that isn't full of lawyers, but people of all different professions representative of the actual populace, where a bill can be scrutinized from all viewpoints.
I wonder what would happen if C and M won their respective parties' tickets and Obama and Paul joined forces to beat partisan politics. - vault, on 02/17/2008, -4/+3Why would a candidate funded by white supremacists choose to run with a black guy?
- diggyadigger, on 02/19/2008, -0/+1Especially, a half-white black guy who's written in his book of his hatred of his (white) mother's race.
From Dreams of My Father, " I FOUND A SOLACE IN NURSING A PERVASIVE SENSE OF GRIEVANCE AND ANIMOSITY AGAINST MY MOTHER'S RACE".
From 'Dreams of my Father', "The emotion between the races could never be pure..... the THE OTHER RACE (WHITE) WOULD ALWAYS REMAIN JUST THAT: MENACING, ALIEN AND APART"
From Dreams Of My Father, "never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. IT WAS INTO MY FATHER'S IMAGE , THE BLACK MAN, THE SON OF AFRICA, THAT I'D PACKED ALL THE ATTRIBUTES I SOUGHT IN MYSELF.
From Dreams Of My Father:
"THAT HATE HADN'T GONE AWAY," he wrote, BLAMING WHITE PEOPLE,- SOME CRUEL, SOME IGNORANT, sometimes a single face, sometimes just a faceless image of a system claiming power over our lives."
From Dreams Of My Father;
"There were enough of us on campus to constitute a tribe, and when it came to hanging out many of us chose to function like a tribe, staying close together, traveling in packs," he wrote. "It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, TO SHOW YOUR LOYALTY TO THE BLACK MASSES, TO STRIKE OUT, and name names"
From Dreams Of My Father, "I had grown accustomed, everywhere, to SUSPICIONS BETWEEN THE RACES.."
Quote from Barack Obama's book, Dreams Of My Father:
