'Awkward moment' for McCain on DeGeneres Show
rawstory.com — Perhaps John McCain should have known what to expect when he appeared Wednesday on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. In a preview clip that the hosts of MSNBC's Morning Joe called an "awkward moment," DeGeneres raised the topic of her upcoming marriage to Portia de Rossi, saying to McCain, "let's talk about the big elephant in the room."

- SheilaNoya, on 05/22/2008, -0/+3I wish she would have pushed it a little further and asked him if he will do "anything" to actually prevent gay marriage and/or civil unions, including whether he would appoint judges who would try to ban, or stop, either of these situations from happening.
That would have pinned him down more and put him in a really tough spot. If he said "no", the evangelical's heads would explode and he would lose most of Bush's "base". If he said "yes", he would make himself look just like Bush and the rest of the religious nuts, which is a turn off to most rational people.
