Yeah, I hate Bush, and McCain isn't much better. But this is a pretty disgusting use of the memories of the men and women that sacrificed it all, for good or bad. It's just in poor taste. Postmortem exploitation.

Our losses in Iraq are tragic. 4000 KIA is a terrible loss, but there are thousands more that died after receiving treatment or are horribly wounded. Just don't try to paint this as a one party affair, the democratically controlled congress has done nothing to end the war. Hilary's cackling visage should be included in the picture as well.

I want them to see the tears on their families faces, the anger in their fathers eyes. These troops may have "volunteered," but it was for our freedom. Not for the Bush, Cheney, Mccain pocketbooks.

Vietnam lasted 16 years, 58,000 soldiers died (11,500 of which were TEENAGERS who were FORCED TO GO) and a total of 1.7 to 2.2 million people died.

You do know that they have politically manipulated the casualty reports, don't you?
If you are a soldier, injured in a roadside bomb, but survive long enough to make it out of theater to Germany, or even back to the United States, like say, to Walter Reed, but die in surgery or die of complications, you are not counted in that "4,000" death count. You died of complications, or other reasons. Maybe infection, maybe complications of surgery, or maybe infection, or maybe "unknown causes".
I cannot substantiate anything, but just knowing how politicized the death count has become, I can only assume that we do not know the true death count. It is probably 5,000, maybe even 10,000, for all we know. They have done everything to manipulate, politically, what the military used to report accurately. -
Let this be over sooner than later. Make sure your candidate
is serious about his/her foreign policy. Please. -

this photo is done over and over and over again and it's extremely effective. the most recent one i could find with a quick search is a 2005 photo that won an illustration award in the national press photographers associations 2006 best of photojournalism competition. here's the link: http://bop.nppa.org/2006/still_photography/winners ... it's different but equally effective. i know it's poignant, but it's also sad that all we can do as citizens to voice our displeasure about this war is make imagery and comment about it online. actually, it's sad that all we can do IS voice our displeasure. it's not like anyone will listen to us...
as for the artist having too much time on their hands, the software to make these mosaics is damn near free anymore. -
Just wait until Hillary or Obaba get elected. You can then add a couple of zeros to the number of total Americans who will die. try 4,000,000 or 40,000,000 during their terms.
