That's what we call a recipe for disaster.- duckley, on 07/18/2008, -3/+2This is what the Easily Misled, the Super-Rich, the Oil Companies, the Obscenely Greedy, the Corrupt War Mongers, the Tax Exiles, and the Foreign Despots call a recipe for disaster.

- duckley, on 07/18/2008, -5/+3This is what a LEADER DOES.
He builds an extensive team of advisors, to minimize "personal errors" of members of the team, and to Vastly Increase the breadth and depth of vision and preparedness of the team.
I am REALLY impressed by this.- rpfinley, on 07/18/2008, -1/+4Extensive? Why not 3000 than or 300,000? Every person you add is another layer, can you imagine 300 people trying to decide a course of action after a 9/11 type of attack. It was take months for a consensus to develop. Companies have a CEO and upper management for a reason.
- punx, on 07/18/2008, -1/+3Wrong, that's what a person who doesn't want to take personal responsibility for his actions does. When something goes wrong he can blame it on so and so and walk away with "clean hands". I can't even imagine, with that many advisers how any decision could ever be made within any kind of timely manner. God forbid, with that menagerie, if there is ever an emergency decision to be made.
- neognostic, on 07/18/2008, -3/+2Obama uses advisers brilliantly, and I'd say he is pretty nimble on his feet to make decisions quickly.
He beat the presumptive Democratic front runner, who had a well oiled political machine running in high gear.
He is a racially mixed man who looks black, and with a Muslim name who is leading an American war hero by 7 points in the latest polls.
I'd call that very well advised and deftly played.- smittie, on 07/19/2008, -1/+1Or he's gaming the system.
- ftx437, on 07/18/2008, -2/+5How?
This to me just seems like it proves his lack of experience and shows me that he's just a puppet doing what ever other people tell him- neognostic, on 07/18/2008, -1/+2Only a fool would not seek advice, (see Bush) I seek advice all of the time, it makes me more knowledgeable and gives me better choices in my decision making, and I'm nobodies puppet.
- actorboy, on 07/19/2008, -0/+1Really? Pray tell, did you just traipse into this world with every opinion formed? I take you you fancy yourself quite the realist when it comes to politics. Did you fall out of the womb with your stances in place? Or did you perhaps read the information and opinions provided by others then discern your beliefs based on the information given? I suspect your thoughts were influenced by things like newspapers, facts, and your own thought processes. Now, imagine if instead of getting your info from, say, a reporter relaying something told to him by an expert, you actually got that info from an expert directly, like, say, a general or an economist or a constitutional expert? You might be able trade in your job as president of Digg for a place in the real white house.
- yellowcakewalk, on 07/18/2008, -1/+2Every leader must have advisors. What is worrisome is that Obama has foreign policy advisors like Dennis Ross.
