“This election is about Barack Obama — not John McCain — it's about whether Barack Obama passes muster. Every poll shows that people want a Democratic president, the problem is they’re not sure they want Barack Obama.”
@@@
THIS RACE SHOULD BE ABOUT 8 YEARS OF FAILED REPUBLICAN POLICIES and a change of course. Also it should be about John McCain's wholesale adoption of these failing policies... Young people should be voting for Obama and change; women should be voting for Obama and change; poor people should be voting for Obama and change; black folk should be voting - big-time - for Obama and change; as should Latino and other minorities.
Why is Obama only up by 3%, then?- vexingmodstwo, on 08/11/2008, -4/+7Because it's obvious to normal people (i.e. non-Obamamonicas) that there's no "there" there. He's a fraud.
- mathewsj, on 08/11/2008, -6/+7Because it's NOT about 8 "failed years", we are winning the war and the economy's turned around.
Because NObama is an empty suit that has to have free rock concerts to draw crowds.
Because NObama's been caught in lies even against his own Democrats.
Because the MSM is 100% for NObama and everyone believes the MSM, NOT.
Because NObama is Arab-American dishonestly passing himself off as Black.
Because NObama is a racist, and claims NObama's a victim.
Because Paris Hilton came up with a better energy plan in one day.
Because... - drachemorder, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Because the sort of change Obama represents would be far worse than the status quo.
- Patrikc325, on 08/11/2008, -13/+3Obama or McCain? Coke or Pepsi? means about the same to me.
- marabout40, on 08/11/2008, -8/+5If Obama had any sense, these are the 7 things he should really worry about! http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/8/11/95627/2430 ...
- mathewsj, on 08/11/2008, -8/+8disagree with 'worrysome' for NObama, FATAL is more correct.
- incredibilistic, on 08/11/2008, -9/+3This list is bogus and basically stretches every possible bad point to the nth degree. Point #4 is especially insane in blaming the economy totally on the national security. And if that's the case when did a POW from 100 years become our savior? McCain himself has said he's not very familiar with the economy (then later denying he's ever said it). If the economy is a result of the war do we really want someone in office that was instrumental in approving the war?
Then there's Ohio where McCain probably won't be popular once the Obama campaign digs deep into that recent story about a DHL buyout of another shipment company but because of the buyout DHL is moving 8,000 jobs from Ohio all because of McCain's campaign manager and McCain himself.
Wait 'till the debates.- halfwayentropy, on 08/11/2008, -1/+3Hey, WAKE UP! Have you seen the polls. He should be clobbering McCain, but he's not. Doesn't that seem strange to you? Debates aside, the war isn't won just yet and people need to stop being so smug about this. I don't want to see this country get any worse.
- grenz, on 08/11/2008, -1/+6If Obama is your candidate categorically denying these points or making light of them is not a sure fire way to win. Some of them may lack substance, but others are fairly valid.
I don't have a firm decision towards a candidate but this list seems to be valid and something that Obama and his campaign should attempt to address. - GardenRetreat, on 08/12/2008, -4/+0He has alot going for him and some things going against him..but for now I am behind him because I think he speaks to our difficulties in the most straightforward and real way.. However what he says is not always politically sensible..so will people finally vote for a person rather than a politician..I hope we will
