- SheilaNoya, on 06/02/2008, -21/+8If the surge worked, then why are over 4 million Iraqis who had to flee their homes still displaced?
If progress is being made, then why did tens of thousands of Iraqis protest our occupation of Iraq last Friday?
If the surge worked, and the vast majority of Iraqis don't want us in their country, then let's call it a success and bring our troops home.- regoodwin, on 06/02/2008, -6/+9The problem is you need to quit believing the media BS yourself and take a trip over to Iraq.
- SheilaNoya, on 06/02/2008, -21/+10One other thing...
Obama has already recognized that all of our service man and women are amazing heroes. That's one of the reasons our military personnel have donated more money to Obama's campaign than to McCain's.
The other reason they donated more money to Obama is that he understands that the Bush/McCain strategy of remaining in Iraq (against the wishes of most Iraqis) is a STUPID policy. The war is over. Pull out our corrupt contractors and war profiteers and let the Iraqis have their country back. That's what most Iraqis and most Americans agree is the right thing to do.- nadom, on 06/02/2008, -4/+8Like hell they donated more money to Obama. Another lie must have been put out by the lame brained media

- hugothecommie, on 06/02/2008, -3/+7Perhaps if you open up your one good eye and read the article it says that people who work for the military. Not military members. People who work at the Pentagon work for the military. People who work at the PX are civilians. Military members have always been and will always be more likely to vote for a republican, it's just a fact of life. Just like most prisoners, child rapists, murderers and those who hate this country will vote Democratic. Why do you think the left always tries to suppress the military vote
- Lutrasimilis, on 06/02/2008, -6/+3So what, a misplaced word...personnel vs. employees vs. soldiers, it still makes the point. Mincing words doesn't help your retort, and then this pathetic hook-in with the murderers and child rapists and prisoners voting democratic...you imbecile. Felons can't vote.
This is why you're losing. Dumbass.
- hugothecommie, on 06/02/2008, -1/+9Sheila honey, did you just graduate from public school? The article says people that work for the military, not military members. This is a typical trick by the media to capture brain dead liberals into seeing what they believe. Now military members themselves will believe what they see, which is once again a distorted article attacking the military. They always suppress the military vote because it's always about 70% for conservatives. Read farther down in the article Sweety and you will see the difference. But I will agree with one thing, the left is managing to politicize the military and that is sad. When that happens, we are doomed.

- cchasels, on 06/02/2008, -6/+19GREAT article Chuck! THANKS for standing for the troops and the truth.
- regoodwin, on 06/02/2008, -6/+18I have supported the war. I support our troops. What you people don't understand is that the Democrats control the Senate and House. If they really wanted to end the war all they had to do is cut off funding. Do you think it takes an Obama to grow balls on our politicians. What needs to be done in Iraq is. 1.) Tell CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, & etc. to get out of the country. We don't need their LIBERAL BS on the war. Then end this thing. The US can't afford much more war. The problem is the United States has lost it's ruthlessness since WWII. Between Liberal politicians, and Liberal media. They will never let the US win.
- RickyLS, on 06/02/2008, -5/+20Been waiting for someone to finally bring out the fact that any news we get about the war is partial at best, and might even be just the opposite of what's actually going on--based upon the fact that our military is the one guiding the news leaving the battlefields. Why would we not think they are orchestrating the news about the war? Great column Mr. Norris!
- keltin, on 06/02/2008, -5/+16Obama hasn't a clue. Kind of like people like Sheila. She doesn't even know what the ''surge' was supposed to do. Misplaced Iraqis? That wasn't what the surge addressed. If you don't know what you're talking about, it's probably better to keep the lip zipped, there Sheila-baby.
- ginger007, on 06/02/2008, -5/+16Amen to Chuck, Oh, how I wish he would run for something. We need a real statesman in the senate (or somewhere) who will stand up to the politicians.
I challenge any liberal to try measuring up to this great American. - Kizilbash, on 06/02/2008, -13/+8Psst, Chuck Norris is not a tough guy, he just plays one on tv...
- hugothecommie, on 06/02/2008, -3/+11I grew up 2 blocks from Chuck Norris first studio in Redondo Beach. He is a former World Champion. Probably the greatest martial arts fighter of all time. Maybe you want to tell Mr. Norris to his face that he is just a paper tiger. Oh that's right, you thought Alec Baldwin was the tough one.
- johnny2k, on 06/03/2008, -2/+7Hugo, thank you for the good CHUCKle! Great retort to kizil's lame comment - probably one of the dumbest I have EVER read on digg! "Maybe you want to tell Mr. Norris to his face that he is just a paper tiger." I second that motion! Your comment back to kizil was one of the BEST I've read on digg. Thank you for straightening out that pinhead!! :D
- GWBARNHOUSE, on 07/02/2008, -1/+1Norris is not much of an actor. Seems like he just plays himself. You have to remember he is in his early seventies and I'll bet he is still in great shape.

- jesusis1, on 06/02/2008, -12/+5Hey Chuck! Take a step or two down. Sounds like the only military people you talk with are officers. Try talking with the enlisted, the people who don't shine a seat with their butts. You just might learn a lot more than you thought you would if did talk with the enlisted.
I am a 20yr veteran of the Navy. I was in the aviation field as an aircraft electrician. We used say that it take a college education to break em, and a high school education to fix em.- hugothecommie, on 06/02/2008, -2/+8So because you are a twenty year veteran YOU are an expert on military affairs. You sound like the typical Liberal.
I have a high school buddy who is a reserve stationed in Iraq right now smarty pants, he's 60 years old Navy boy and he emails me all the time. So wise up, there's a story on each side. Not just one side. There are some that think we are doing a good job and then there are some who are in the military who shouldn't be in there. You as a veteran should know all to well that it is not your place to put politics before your mission. It pains me to see the left parade veterans and other military personnel out for their own political gains.- jesusis1, on 06/02/2008, -4/+2For your information I am NOT a liberal! Also I am not a boy either! I am very proud of my service to this country, you on the other hand probably have never spent the first day in the service of this country. Another thing you need to understand smart ass, I am not in Iraq therefore I cannot see what is really happening there and obviously you are not in Iraq either. You sound to me like one of those idiots that thinks that we shouldn't even have a military. I say that because of the name that you use, you communist ...
- hugothecommie, on 06/02/2008, -0/+5U.S. Army 7th Artillery, Vietnam Veteran, drafted 1967. Honorably discharged 1969. If I said something that offended you, sorry. It's just that I get tired of hearing veterans coming out against the war and against the commander in chief. Anyone with military experience knows it is a soldiers responsibility to follow his lead. Or have you forgotten the code of conduct. Called you Navy Boy because that's what everyone called Navy personnel. Like in the Air Force they are called fly boys. Hugothecommie is in reference to Hugo Chavez, has nothing to do with me personally, if that was the case then why does your handle say sis. Now do you understand my point. I use that name to get on liberal web sites like the daily kooks. After all that, I commend you for your service to our country.
- arcblatt, on 06/03/2008, -1/+1Why aren't YOU in Iraq Hugo? Since you think you know so much about it, it would be great if you put your behind where your mouth is. How dare you insult other veterans for having the guts to confront the government? Freedom of speech is guaranteed you moron. Let everyone express themselves just as you have done it.
- jesusis1, on 06/02/2008, -4/+2For your information I am NOT a liberal! Also I am not a boy either! - fulibs, on 07/01/2008, -0/+1Did that make you feel better? Not having a college education doesn't mean you are any less of a man you know.
- hugothecommie, on 06/02/2008, -2/+8So because you are a twenty year veteran YOU are an expert on military affairs. You sound like the typical Liberal.
- nadom, on 06/02/2008, -2/+12Why should he go to Iraq? He would only lie about it like he did about members of his family liberating death camps in
nazi germany and hiding in the attic for 6 months.- MadKennyP, on 06/02/2008, -8/+1Look to McCain if you want to see a Senator who traveled to Iraq, then LIED about it.
- michael4lsu, on 06/02/2008, -3/+7MadKennyP, always with the trivial "My Democrat isn't bad, your Republican is bad" arguments. Why hasn't it ever occurred to you that maybe both the Republicans AND Democrats are mostly worthless scum and traitors to the United States and our Constitution? When will you wake up?
- cashman57, on 06/03/2008, -1/+4You should realize that Obama is winning at the Democrat nomination but will lose in the general election because of his lies, misssteps, and idiots he chose to surround himself with. How many people has he said were great influences on him and then turned his back on?3?5?9?
Depends on how you define it I guess. Whether they were on his website with their praise of him and then scrubbed or hired to his campaign and then resigned.
He surrounded himself with 8,000 hateful anti-American bigots at his "church" and only now knows they were hateful bigots?
Obama has no clue what is about to hit him and he will be blindsided because he thinks he's too popular to bring down.
When is he going to visit Iraq?
- MadKennyP, on 06/02/2008, -8/+1Look to McCain if you want to see a Senator who traveled to Iraq, then LIED about it.
- Phatsoundz, on 06/02/2008, -0/+8good article....the useful idiots still wont believe it.
- arcblatt, on 06/03/2008, -1/+0What about the ones that do believe it? The left-right paradigm is where useful idiots thrive.
- lookingforHim, on 06/02/2008, -0/+8Thank you for the very good article. But it brings up the possibility of a fourth surprise. Obama's father was a Muslin. According to their religion therefore so would his son. As Obama says that he is a Christian. As a convert from Muslin to Christian what response will he receive from the Iraq clerics? Death?
- jesusis1, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1To hugothecommie - Please learn to read a name before making a statement like you did. Since we can't put a space between words in our user names, I didn't. If you would look at the user name I use it is Jesus is #1. The number sign not allow either. No way for me to know that the name that you use is in reference to Hugo Chavez, sorry.
I look at WND because they are Christian conservative. Even though I don't always agree with the format of an article.
By the way, I am glad that you made it home safely from Viet Nam. I entered the Navy a year after you were drafted. Sounds like both of us have seen more than we wanted to. - arcblatt, on 06/03/2008, -4/+0Wow! Chuck Norris has information that not any American citizen would have, and it seems to be enough to put him on a position to tell a presidential candidate what surprises he will find in Iraq. Hmmm! Even worse; wasn’t he the number one supporter of a so called Christian conservative candidate? You know, the Christian conservative candidate that was rumored to be headlining McCain’s list of vice-presidential candidates? How naïve are the readers to think for a moment that Chuck Norris has information that can surprise a presidential candidate that has access to the best intelligence briefings in the nation. Mr. Norris, a warmongering Christian is an oxymoron. We are supposed to only fight just wars, as it had been the custom of this nation until some decades ago. It is time to go back to those principles. Our Forefathers would be ashamed of what we have become. You sir, are only positioning your column to support John McCain so that your pal Mike Huckabee can be considered for the VP spot.
- cashman57, on 06/03/2008, -5/+1It is no surprise Norris doesn't want to talk about how we ended up in that hellhole not worth a drop of American blood.
Typical. - GWBARNHOUSE, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2You people spout personal opinion as if it were fact. That's easy because you have never been acquainted with the truth. Norris has been to Iraq numerous times. How many times have you and Obama been? Not strange you and Obama are bedfellows. This just opinion, not fact, I would bet Obama never left the green zone when he was there. I would challenge yours and the scrabble players courage. Again personal opinion.
- rjwusa, on 07/02/2008, -1/+3"... Norris asks; "That leads me to a few important questions. So where does Obama get his facts about the war?"
Maybe Sean Penn and John Murtha are advising Obama on this?
