2 BIG Straw Poll Wins for Ron Paul in New Hampshire and Alabama!
ronpaul2008.typepad.com — Ron Paul swept two straw polls today by a large margin in both New Hampshire and Alabama. This is great news and a wonderful 'gift' for Ron with his upcoming birthday on August 20th. - mickrussom, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I say this with all seriousness. The country will probably disintegrate and be carved up the Chinese if Ron Paul does not win. It will take time, but we are on the road to perdition.
America needs Ron Paul more than ever, and everyone who supports Ron Paul loves him as he is the closest thing to family we have ever seen in government.
Ron Paul, for what is just, what is right, and what is our Nation's root modus, the Constitution and Freedom and Liberty for All.
Think for yourself, question authority.
Here is what the GOP without Ron Paul in charge has done to us:
- 9 trillion in debt
- 850 billion trade deficit
- War in Iraq
- War in Afghanistan
- Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda alive
- Fomenting War with Iran
- 12.25 trillion M3 money supply, and expanding (massive inflation)
Ron Paul’s record is crystal clean perfect and consistent. He takes no money from anyone but people and constituents. He is as pure as they come.
One of my favorite quotes about Dr. Paul, “You’re working for the most honest man in Congress.” That was John McCain speaking to Kent Snyder in 1988.

It's interesting to note that Huckleberry Hound and Congressman Tancredo were the only other candidates besides Ron Paul in attendance in NH, yet their 3rd and 4th place are so anemic they're barely worth mentioning. It's amusing to see them, particularly the Arkansas socialist, waste their campaign time for such abysmal returns. - Shink, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18Great news, Doctor Paul deserves a great birthday! Keep an eye out for local media coverage. = )
- wgadget, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11And I'll be looking for NATIONAL coverage, as well!

- tekhna, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Yep, 208 votes sure looks like a ton of grassroots support.
- asands84, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I believe it's a good start. How many votes did the other candidates receive, again?

- Likkerish, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4jcm267...why are you and your minions here??? This post is for people who have an interest in the Ron Paul campaign.
What moral right do you think that you have to come here and bury a story? If you don't like "Spam," then stop making Spam sandwiches for yourself. You've had about all the Spam that I can tolerate. So, do us both a favor and scram. Go find something that you like and that you will not have to bury. Life is too short!- btbalance, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2don't engage him - it will only further his confusion.. just let him move on and get buried himself.
- j0keR, on 10/10/2007, -7/+4Burried by RonBot v.1.5
- h0bart, on 10/10/2007, -1/+24The media won't spin this, they'll just ignore it.
- insomniac8400, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12They can't spin it since no other candidate had any support. It's either talk about Ron Paul, or ignore it.
- j0keR, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7I think we're in the "fight you" stage of Gandhi's steps. They'll probably spin it one way or another.
One example of media spin:
http://www.digg.com/politics/ABC_news_misrepresents_Ron_Paul_supporters
- litcigar, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13This is an apt demonstration of the ability of this candidate to provoke passionate and outspoken action on the part of his supporters. It is an impressive mobilization, to be sure, especially considering that Ron Paul did nothing to provide transport or centralized organization (I believe on this point) for these events.
- swrostmore, on 10/10/2007, -11/+4What kind of straw poll only has 283 voters?
- j.carcinogen, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7One by a party disenfranchised with the mainstream candidates they only hear about because of selective corporate mainstream media coverage.
- insomniac8400, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8Considering national media polls are only 500, these results are just as valid, since Ron Paul got more votes than any candidate received in any of the national media polls.
- mmortal03, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Actually that is wrong, because scientific national polls try to get a random sample of the US population, not all from one location.
- CBound, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2That is correct. But that is NOT to say that most polls aren't somewhat off regarding Dr. Paul's support. There apparently are very few if any that poll the 17-24ish age range well at all.
- mmortal03, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Actually that is wrong, because scientific national polls try to get a random sample of the US population, not all from one location.
- MrGrinchstick, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Isnt this the delegates only poll?
- Likkerish, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0A COUNTY straw poll! A person who had read carefully instead of coming here to be negative would have known that!
Actually, 283 votes is not bad for a county in tiny NH when the Illinois State Straw Poll drew only 922 voters!!!
- Likkerish, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0A COUNTY straw poll! A person who had read carefully instead of coming here to be negative would have known that!

- Meg4Paul2008, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18Ron Paul speaks the truth, and when people hear it; they know it in their gut, and they respond.
- j0keR, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12More importantly, he speaks honestly. Other candidates pander, sway, and dodge questions. While Ron Paul supporters might not agree with him 100%, they realize that they agree with him more than any other politician. Good luck figuring out what the other Fascist/Police state/Communist/Socialist politicians actually stand for, besides maybe one of these flawed philosophies. Liberty is what America should stand for.
- CBound, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4That's right! While I'm sure that a few Republican candidates don't fall into one of the "flawed philosophies" camp, it can be very difficult to tell if they are communicating what they believe to be true!
I don't support ALL of Ron Paul's positions, but I do believe he speaks his mind and that what he says truly comes from personal conviction.
I DO agree with more of his positions than anyone else's. There is not one politician in Washington DC that I am aware of, that holds the US Constitution as binding in all areas of US law OTHER than Mr. Paul!
Go Ron Paul! - frankenc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4And even if you disagree with him, you know where he stands. He is a man of principle, and many people can't handle it. He speaks truth to power!
- MrGrinchstick, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17HERE WE COME TO TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK !!!!!!!!!
- synthox, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15Maybe digg will let this stay on the front page rather than yanking it down like the first time
- JSchroeder, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8I saw that, too. Why do they do that?
- JSchroeder, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15165 diggs in under 3 hours. Now this story is neither on the front page nor in upcoming stories. Is it not showing up because so many people buried it. Digg should show who buries stories just like they show who dugg them.
- jabowery, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I wonder how much money Digg, Inc. makes from burying stories on command? They certainly don't deny they make money in this way (they don't publish their algorithm) and there is certainly a lot of money to be made this way.
- wbrad75, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Looks like all the tour buses were not available. Sorry about that Mitt "Greyhound" Romney!! Real people who care about their country will not relent. We will not allow this country to continue on this path. Chalk up another victory.. ;) Ron Paul 2008!
- Dietz001, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Great news!!
- IM7777777, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Congrats Freedom Fighters!
- maggiebott, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6We need to make the media take better notice. I hear people saying thanks for c-span and they are just as bad.
- digitalslavery, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8thats strange i thought Ron Pauls supoporters were only internet based, tee hee hee! victory again, and again and again....
- almonds646, on 09/11/2008, -0/+3don't be fooled. we spammed these straw polls via wireless security loopholes that enabled us to vote in a way that was seemingly in person and on paper, but it was all really just one person from a remote location.
- Alright, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1buried as inaccurate
- heebygeeby, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I'll bury your face as inaccurate.
- txpenguin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Alright is Alwrong.
- tankexmortis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1If only Kucinich and Gravel had this level of support. C'mon diggers, we've got the best of one side, now let's get the best of the other!
- NightVortez, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I would honestly support Gravel instead of Ron Paul, but he doesn't seem as much of an open guy, passionate defiantly but I haven't heard much about him in ages. Plus he has to go up against a former first lady of a well appealed president and a rational clean African American, while the top two republican candidates are a Muppet and a cross dresser.
- Likkerish, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1tankexmortis...what do you see in Ron Paul's positions that you like? I'll bet getting rid of the "War on Drugs" is one area, huh? Both Paul and Gravel are together on this one. And, I'll bet you like Dr. Paul's position on the Iraq War, too, right? They are also together on this one, both wanting to pull our troops out immediately. It also appears that you would agree with Dr. Paul's position that "No Child Left Behind" is a disaster for education. So, I think you might want to think about jumping on board our winning team of eclectic underdogs! We are attracting people from all across the political spectrum.
We are lucky to have a modern day Thomas Jefferson in Dr. Ron Paul. He agrees with you on several of the positions that are important to you. So, come on, join the Ron Paul team!!!

- Palmetto, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Ron Paul's support is growing and will continue right up till election time..
Ron Paul in '08!! - almonds646, on 09/11/2008, -6/+1this is nothing to get excited about.
the straw polls in each state were spammed by the same person.- frankenc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1How do you spam a straw poll? You have to be a state resident to vote.
- txpenguin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Congressman Paul also came in third at the Illinois Straw Poll, just behind Fred Thompson, who came in second to Mitt Romney. Ron Paul is starting break out of the second tier of candidates.
- smartbandwidth, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Something to think, celebrate and sing when considering Ron Paul and the restoration of our Republic:
by Cat Stevens
Now I've been happy lately,
thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be,
something good has begun
Oh I've been smiling lately,
dreaming about the world as one
And I believe it could be,
some day it's going to come
Cause out on the edge of darkness,
there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country,
come take me home again
Now I've been smiling lately,
thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be,
something good has begun
Oh peace train sounding louder
Glide on the peace train
Come on now peace train
Yes, peace train holy roller
Everyone jump upon the peace train
Come on now peace train
Get your bags together,
go bring your good friends too
Cause it's getting nearer,
it soon will be with you
Now come and join the living,
it's not so far from you
And it's getting nearer,
soon it will all be true
Now I've been crying lately,
thinking about the world as it is
Why must we go on hating,
why can't we live in bliss
Cause out on the edge of darkness,
there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country,
come take me home again- s35wf, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I love this song. Cat Stephens was/is great. Vote Ron Paul 2008! Ron is Hope for America.
- CynthiaK23, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5This news must be just way too scary for some. Just try doing a Google news search for the New Hampshire or the Alabama Straw Poll results. NOTHING! I checked and there is absolutely no mention of the outcome on CNN, CNBC, NBC, ABC,MSNBC, and REUTERS. I did manage to find one small news report on the Alabama straw poll on NBC13.com. Did anyone find even a mere mention of it on any other major news program???
GO RON PAUL!!!!!! - txpenguin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5The MSM is NOT going to give much favorable coverage to Ron Paul. We will have to work to get his name out front, and then they will be forced to cover what is growing popular movement towards his candidacy.
- RylScam, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4The main stream media believes the US electorate is apathetic. Americans will usually
vote, but to get them out on the street to support a candidate has become unheard of.
This has changed with the entry of Ron Paul into the Presidential Race. People like
Alabamian Tracy Kozinski said this to NBC13,"This is the first time I've participated in
anything ever, politically. I vote as I'm supposed to. This is the first time a candidate
has moved me to become so incredibly involved."
Americans are not apathetic toward politics. It is the same old messages politicians spew
that we reject. Ron Paul has changed that and I hope our leaders sit up and take note.
This is an historical election and it is up to us to take advantage of this unprecedented
opportunity.
I also hope that in upcoming elections, that Americans who feel as Doctor Paul does, will
run for Federal, State and Local Offices. - honorgod, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Lets see if this works here, I got a spam ban from the dailypaul.com for trying to post this:
