- davidg11, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4There are online pledge drive sites (pledgedrive.com) that basically allow anyone to say "Ill donate X amount of dollars for a cause but only if X amount of people will do the same". A few have been formed for Ron Paul. The problem is we have multiple pledge drives opened by multiple people. I believe the solution to this multiple pledge drive chaos is having the Ron Paul campaign create ONE realistic pledge drive.
So what is realistic?
There are over 50,000 people in Ron Paul meetup groups. And 6000 more interested in joining one. So that's almost 60,000 people we know for a fact who are passionate for Ron Paul's success and could donate $100 per person over the next 90 days.
$5-$6 million raised. I'm estimating conservatively, there is at least ONE other Ron Paul supporter for every member not in a meetup group. Get them to donate $100 over the course of 90 days and what do you have? Ron Paul's goal of $12 million. ]
If you believe this is workable idea, get the word out to Ron Paul's campaign. Send an email to:

If the average donation was $40, why on earth does the person starting this drive think these people can afford $1,000 a piece?
- voytechs, on 10/15/2007, -1/+3There are currently 2 pledges on right now. Mine for 10,000 donors and another one with 1,000,000. I pledged to both since it doesn't hurt which ever one succeeds is positive for Dr. Paul. I created the 10K pledge for the sole reason, that according to my calculation this is the most doable ratio of donation and donors. Its 100 times small in size then the 1M one so it has a lot more chance of succeeding. The pledge is worded and stresses the fact that $1,000 is a lot of money, but this is history in the making, and if we don't reach that goal you don't have to donate that money. But when we do, you will be part of the history, commemorated with a certificate. I think its a lot easier to convince 10K people then 60K or 100K to do anything, within reason, thus the reason why I chose this ration. There are only 2 pledges right now for raising campaign money and they don't exclude each other.
Key now is to let everyone know and there are enough people that believe strongly enough in Ron Paul to pledge this amount. I know I am one of those people and we have nearly $20K already pledged in 1 day without any advertising.
What I'm working on now is YouTube advertising of this pledge. I'm asking all the prominent YouTube video makers for Ron Paul to help and create enticing video to promote this pledge and just push Ron Paul over the campaign funding edge with a landslide. There are lots of video that compare candidates and provide in depth explanation of Dr. Paul's stance on all the issues. Now its time to have a single minded goal of promoting this pledge and get Dr. Paul elected. I'm not doing this for any personal exposure, I really thing this is the single most important issue that we can do right now and settle this MSM nonsense once and for all. It only takes 10,000 of us in the entire US of A. - voytechs, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2"If the average donation was $40, why on earth does the person starting this drive think these people can afford $1,000 a piece?" - davidq11
For very simple reason. If you believe that your single contribution will almost certainly win the nomination and end this nonsense with MSM, wouldn't you plop down a grand? I know I would in a second, even though its a huge amount of money for myself. But when you consider this pledge from all angles, that is exactly what it says and does. Your single commitment to make that donation when the time is right (not before or after) when it will really tip the balances, will virtually guarantee the nomination. And no, I don't believe my pledge is just any pledge like the previous. I have researched and thought the wording/explanation of how this works and about the exact ratio of donation to number of donors that can succeed. Anything less won't have a big enough impact to make a real difference, thus won't attract donors, anything more is just wishful thinking. This pledge will make that difference. I know there are enough people who believe strongly enough in Dr. Paul's message to make this happen. Advertising of the pledge itself on YouTube over next week or two will really get the pledge going. Once people see momentum built up, they will come. The beauty with this pledge is you don't have to wait toward the end of Q4, you can show your support now, there is no obligation if we don't reach the 10,000 goal. Why not make a difference now and show there is momentum behind this?
I'm not out to make a name for myself or get personal exposure, contrary to it. My single goal is to make the critical difference in the campaign if I can with this idea. - bizjet747, on 10/15/2007, -1/+7We don't need to afford it, it's a payment that is past due! Because freedom is not Free!

- readthis, on 10/26/2007, -1/+7History is clear that once liberty and freedom is lost it can only be brought back by bloodshed. Let's make sure we don't lose it. Hold a Ron Paul party and invite your friends and family.
