- ImperialRome, on 07/18/2008, -9/+1Wait just a second. The data security expert who is a "lifelong republican" but gives donations to Howard Dean (back in 2004 primaries). That doesn't pass the smell test.
Second, this whole conspiracy boils down to the fact that Kerry got less votes than other downballot Democrats.
This phenomenon is not uncommon in elections. The guy at the top of the ticket doesn't appeal to the voter the way that some local candidate does. That isn't evidence of tampering, rigging elections, etc. That's just a stinky candidate who could not close the deal.
This is a ridiculous farce disguised as a serious inquiry.
From my personal experiences with voter machines, they are programmed prior to the election, and that program is tested by the office of the Secretary of State, and the machines are sealed. The machines are inspected by the individual County clerks after the election to verify if they have been tampered with. They are also tested for the validity of the program currently on the machine.
Any machine that is suspect is isolated and quarantined until the office of the Secretary of State can send someone to inspect it.
So what the author describes in this story sounds bogus to me.- karmicwizard, on 07/18/2008, -0/+4Nice try, but Epic Fail. I see nowhere that it says Spoonamore donated to Dean and Open Secrets does not reveal anything. You better put-up or shut-up.

Your "personal experiences with voting machines"!? Look, ImperialRome, sorry to dissapoint you, but your little spiel revealed about 6 ways I can think of off the top of my head that allow for manipulation, from the Secretary of State on down. Your alleged "personal experience" with voting machines is in question. Which state? Manufacturer? Your position in local government or the press corps?
If there's nothing to hide, then open the files of the lawsuit. There is no reason whatsoever to have the process of the election of the President of the United States of America in the hands of a corporation, especially one that has been proven to be corrupt. We need oversight now to insure the coming election is legitimate. There are already grave doubts about the last 2 elections being compromised. - andreastu, on 07/18/2008, -0/+5What could possibly be more important than investigating this fully?
- maxcat07, on 07/18/2008, -0/+6It used to be that "all roads lead to Rome"...now it's "all roads lead to Rove".
Frog march him to jail, it's the only thing that will stop this banana republic! - marquedesade, on 07/19/2008, -0/+4Wonderful news with any luck it will bring to light the election fraud that has ruled this election season.
- Habit4ming, on 07/19/2008, -0/+4This isn't the only "voter fraud" story to surface.....it's nationwide, imo....We need to return to paper ballots...demand honest elections....
- Kikokun, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2USA = banana republic
