Read the article. It apparently is quite easy to stop ALL light. What these guys have achieved is stop light with a very specific frequency - which can be handy for optical computers.
Now I know you would have understood that if you had read the article. I also know that the title is misleading and I had the same thought as you did before I read said piece.
